Cristiano, what are you doing?
Yeah, there's some games when you play as a pro, you think, right, we're going to put on a performance tonight.
We're going to play well. Ronaldo will be thinking goals.
That's obvious. He's kept himself in super condition and having a fantastic season.
Those 13 goals that Cristiano Ronaldo has, the most of any player so far this season in the Saudi Pro League.
Just how do Al-Aqdud shackle him tonight?
For the visitors, a change in management seems to have done the trick for now, at least.
What pressure Al-Nasr will have with a ball, and then they'll look to try and play on the counter,
and they'll look to try and play on the counter with speed.
Friday night football in Saudi Arabia's capital city of Riyadh.
...that you'd have been laughed at.
There are the two captains tonight.
The man on your left will be a familiar face, Cristiano Ronaldo and Hossein Al-Zabdani of Al-Aqdud.
So, second against 16th in the Saudi Pro League.
Two teams who always had very different priorities coming into this season.
One to thrive, the other merely to, I'm trying to shackle them tonight.
Al-Aqdud.
Don Hutchinson providing the better half of the commentary duo tonight.
Al-Nasr have been unrelenting of one.
I know, Don, as you've seen plenty of football in Serie A as well,
you'd have seen him many a time with Mudenese.
This is Taliska spreading it wide.
Al-Nasr already inside Al-Aqdud's penalty area, and sent crashing over the top by Taliska.
What a chance, and he started the move, didn't he?
Taliska playing the ball out to the left-hand side.
Did take a little bubble just in front of him.
But you have to make sure from that distance, there's no need to add any power to that shot,
just make sure you find one of the corners.
That's a huge chance.
The work with the squad as well, which has been so crucial.
Here's Taliska, a little spin and then a drop of the shoulder.
And he's got the ball out of his feet as well.
And it's come for Ronaldo, who has found the room and not quite the corner.
How many times have we seen Cristiano Ronaldo pick the ball up there and score?
Well, you're right, Chris.
No way Ronaldo's taking this shot on his left foot.
He was always going to chop back on his right,
so a little bit naive defending that from the winger.
He should have stayed on his feet, and now he gets inside where he wants to be,
on his right foot.
And you look from that angle there, inches away.
It tends to fall the other side of the post, doesn't it?
So I'm sure Paolo Vittor will have been very pleased to see it drop the right side,
as far as he was concerned.
Oh, so unlucky though.
It's exactly where he would have...
Arrivals for Alnasse, 60 million euros they paid Porto to bring him in,
their most expensive ever signing.
Porto's most expensive ever sale too.
Here he is again, and with a clever pass,
Ottavio into the penalty area where Alnasse picks it up.
Algername is on the pieces,
and the goalkeeper needed to get a touch on it, Paolo Vittor.
Ottavio here with the outside of the right foot,
and then the running behind,
you're trying to provide a little bit of width and a stand-up cross.
The goalkeeper was concentrated in the right position,
took no charity to try and start the moves,
but I think in an ideal world,
he'd like him a little bit closer to Ronaldo.
He seems to be drifting around all over the place at the moment.
Here's Tellez making some space for himself at the moment.
Here's Ronaldo,
who is trying to do the same thing again and cannot...
Temporarily forced away from goal, here is...
Ottavio lifting it in, the touch is beautiful,
the lay-off is great, the finish is super.
It's a really good goal, finished by Alnasse,
but so many in yellow and blue involved in the build-up.
Sparkling stuff gets in behind,
but the weight of that pass to take the full-back out of the equation,
and the pull-back is the correct weight as well,
on the left side of Alnasse,
and then he finishes off.
It's a really, really good move, it's a smart move,
and that is top-class football at the very highest level.
Relatively simple in the end for Sami Alnasse,
and he'll appreciate the fact that he was the one there,
because that is his first Saudi Pro League goal in 14 months.
It can look quite easy, that goal, quite high,
so there is a little bit of room to try and get in behind.
Gone past 700 and looking at the next target.
I've not got that many appearances,
and he's got 700-odd goals.
Here it's Taliska,
now Otavio,
with Ronaldo lurking one side of him,
and a couple to Emad in the middle for the Portuguese.
Ronaldo's found the room,
and Paulo Vitor's found the punch,
and it was a good one.
Berca,
touches forward with it, the Romanian,
but his pass is off-radar.
Now Ronaldo,
with Taliska up there with him.
Found it in the legs to go chase him for it,
just to keep possession for Alnasse,
keep them ticking over,
and then Taliska with a terrific ball over the top.
Here is Garib,
with a bit of work to do,
but support arriving,
and Paulo Vitor pulls off the save,
denying another goal for Alnasse.
Wow.
What an unbelievable pass here.
Would have been tight if Garib was on or offside,
but then the yellow shirts get in support,
and Alnasse for the second time gets in support,
and he's trying to finish that.
The instep with a little bit of cut spin,
trying to fade it towards the top corner.
It's a super save.
But you sense something might be brewing again from Alnasse.
Teles is delivering much better that time.
Kerkvelje was in a good position,
there is a foul,
so it will be a free kick to Alnasse.
Ronaldo's thumping the ground in, I presume, pain.
Wouldn't have used an awkward landing.
You see he lands on the boot of the defender,
that might have caused him a little bit of pain.
Yeah, sometimes they can be painful when you land awkward.
Here comes the throw from Berker for the visitors,
which was nudged on,
and then helped on its way.
And now look at those racing forward.
Taliska is one of them.
He's been pulled back,
and that is almost certainly going to be a yellow card for Tenasse.
Yeah, stop the promise of move,
because Marth claims he was in the right position to turn both down.
He's a Saudi Arabian as well, the official tonight.
Alnasse, here is Garib.
Ronaldo wants it, he's always going to get it,
but the pass, he feels, should be flagged up as a back part.
Finally, Alex Colliado is going to take this free kick,
which came in towards that near post
and went no further because Ronaldo was there.
And the ball back in towards the behind.
Recovered well.
They haven't buckled.
The one-two involving Ronaldo, and on goes Garib.
And there is Taliska!
What an effort on his left foot.
Bicycle kick.
Not that close in the end, but he would have fancied that.
Lovely skill.
Would have been some finish.
The pair of them.
I think you can see the way he plays, Taliska.
He plays up that left-hand side.
He's very close to Ronaldo.
Who is on the ball now, the Portuguese,
and slipping it in, but not quite able to retrieve it once more.
Great noise being generated by the 25,000 or so inside this stadium tonight.
In the home of Alnasse in 2020,
but actually Al-Hilal had spent a couple of seasons here
as temporary tenants before that.
A little exchanging of words between the two Portuguese.
Luis Castro and Cristiano Ronaldo.
His manager now 62 years old.
Replaced Rudy Garcia, who left before the last season was up.
I think trying to read into it.
Sami Alnasse scored that early goal.
13 minutes in, it appeared that Alnasse, Cristiano Ronaldo...
Brozovic or Sadio Mane on at halftime.
You'll want more, I think, from away from home.
So they clearly have a pattern of play
that perhaps suits being on the road.
It's going to come to him from Fofana.
Now Ronaldo's being bumped over.
To Liska, here is Fofana.
And now Ronaldo.
Garib hogging the touchline and retrieving it from the Portuguese.
Back with Alnasse's captain again.
Still spins with such grace.
Garib, Fofana.
Now Telles, who is opening up to swing it in.
It's a lovely ball as well.
But this is a good defensive header under a little bit of pressure.
Started brightly in the first half.
They're pretty alive at the start of the second as well.
Telles' ball in.
Nearly came to Ronaldo.
And then the strike.
Probably just there.
Should have been a foul to Wamba.
Alhambra.
Another corner.
Goalkeeper Kane didn't reach it and got away with it.
They have lost here this season.
Altaoune came here and won by a goal to nil.
August.
Leandra to Wamba.
But has since made the move to Alhambra.
Ronaldo.
Passes the wrong side of Garib.
Exactly.
He had it back again there.
Ronaldo plays it in front of him.
That was the other way around.
I think Cristiano Ronaldo would have had something to say about it.
Otavio has given it to the Portuguese.
Ronaldo has given it back to his international teammate.
And the two of them can't make things happen any further than that.
Otavio has gone chasing.
He's got the ball back.
And he's got it.
Otavio.
And he can't push it.
Gnams kept it.
Now Alnage.
Little pass towards Ronaldo.
Pass trying to locate.
Ronaldo.
So often capitalises.
But can't take advantage that time.
Yeah.
On his left foot there.
He would have fancied that.
Ronaldo.
Was coming across.
On the volley.
I've got half a yard.
Went for the instep finish.
Maybe.
Could have went for laces.
I thought he was excellent in the first half.
And he didn't look too happy about it either.
Did he?
I guess he wouldn't be.
He probably wants to control, I think, the way Brozovic played.
Opening things up.
Tliske helping it on.
Alganam on the move.
It's a peach of a pass.
But he didn't quite have enough to carry all the way through to Jaha.
A little collision as well.
Goalkeeper and Ronaldo.
Yeah, I think the goalkeeper's starting position was very good.
I think he...
It looks like a like-for-like change.
Oh, Ronaldo.
So good.
Everything about the finish from Cristiano Ronaldo.
But he wasn't far away.
He's giving his teammate a little look.
As if to say, you weren't on.
I was taking the shot.
His brilliant feet.
And he's still got this.
Couldn't shift his feet.
This is a skill from Ronaldo.
A little flick away with the left foot.
And then try and powered one under the crossbar.
Tliske again.
Coming in to retrieve the ball.
And showing off his physical prowess.
And a couple of nice touches from Jaha.
Wants it back.
And has it back from Tliske.
And then went for it.
And to thread it for Ronaldo.
Might have a second chance to get onto it from Tliske.
And he does, Ronaldo.
And now he's in a decent position.
But the legs aren't quite there like they used to be.
Kokebelia, excellent defending.
Yeah, you're right there.
A few years ago, Ronaldo would have went away from any defender.
That's been a problem for the bulk of the campaign so far.
Tactically, Ronaldo, at his age,
is not really going to get away from the streets.
He knew he wanted to stand up across the wall.
And then, because of the way that football season was staggered,
in many others, it feels like a lifetime ago.
This is Tliske.
Jaha, who had no option really but to just try and guide it back towards Ronaldo.
Teams that occupy the space.
Al-Nasr, Al-Hilal and Al-Shabaab.
Actually, the three of them were the very first on the...
Are they a little open here?
Al-Hakdouz, as Brozovic spreads it into the feet of Ronaldo.
Who is not caught.
And he doesn't get the free kick.
The last two or three minutes, the game's gone really...
I think it was Al-Rubihai, the player that potentially caught Ronaldo.
That's why he's asking the question.
Has to be an element of trepidation about Al-Nasr's situation right now.
But maybe they can open things up with Ronaldo.
The goalkeeper came a long way.
And that was the error.
But the goal will not count because Ronaldo was offside.
What a shame.
What a shame because the finish was incredible.
Because he knows Ronaldo is going to take a whack from the goalkeeper.
Yeah, he'd just gone a fraction early.
He's brave, Ronaldo, because he knows now the goalkeeper...
Here's Jaya. First touch was neat.
Ronaldo is behind him.
Ronaldo has got it.
Brozovic has got it.
Ronaldo has it!
And Paolo Vitor has spread himself to make a top save.
What a save. Because Ronaldo thinks he's going to make a second goal in the game.
The runner's in behind because that Alagud line is a little bit high.
Then once Ronaldo picks it up, he's looking for a little wall pass with Brozovic.
Outside of the right foot finish.
Probably trying to go through the legs of the goalkeeper.
But what a save.
It's becoming more and more stretched.
Here's Tellez. It might suit Al-Nasr.
Tellez is delivering. Paolo Vitor flung himself at it.
And it's dropped for Ronaldo!
Who was not to be denied!
Best at making something of nothing.
Perhaps has given Al-Nasr three very big points in the title race.
How on earth has Ronaldo scored from there?
He's probably the only player on the pitch that can score from there.
Because the angle was so tight.
That's the goal that's going to take the three points and take it away from Alagud.
But some finish from Ronaldo.
Has played for the very biggest.
And still delivering.
A 14th Saudi Pro League goal of the season for Cristiano Ronaldo.
It's brilliant. It's a great ball in.
The goalkeeper's brave. But he takes a great first touch there.
Now he's looking for an angle.
And how he spots going through about two or three players.
Then pass the goalkeeper from that angle on the side with the power.
Great finish that.
It was Kerkvelia who was pretty much on the line.
But knew he couldn't commit.
Because if he did, he'd be penalised for handball.
Yeah, it's difficult for the Georgian there to try and...
You know if you take your arm out the way, the ball's going to go in the back of the net.
But if you don't take your arm out the way, you're going to give a penalty away.
Perhaps the game really opening up as it is fed through.
Paolo Vettore's come a long way. He's got something on it.
Ronaldo fancies something really special.
Oh, he's done it!
Goodness me!
A hundred times.
But there is absolutely nothing he can't do.
The magician.
Pure wizardry from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Oh, what can you do?
What can you do to try and stop this man?
Don't you give a mere mortal, I think, 50 goes at this.
And most pros couldn't do what Ronaldo's done there.
At the age of 38, to have the muscle memory, to have the skill under pressure.
To hit a ball probably 40, 50 yards up in the air.
And land it a yard underneath the crossbar.
It's amazing. He probably thinks now I'm going to score.
What technique shall I go for? High, dip in, volley under the crossbar.
Phenomenal.
Anyone else on that pitch would have dared even dream of trying that.
Let alone executing it.
Imagine going into the Rolodex of finishers. What shall I go for?
Ronaldo just pulls out the in-step left foot volley.
40 yards in the air.
And it lands an inch or two under the crossbar.
No words sometimes.
You watch him and you just go, genius.
And that is a very apt word to describe Cristiano Ronaldo.
Three goal lead and he is sniffing around for more.
He's thinking penalty.
They have what will be a game in hand to be played still tomorrow.
But nevertheless, it's pressure.
What a pitch of a pass that is.
Here is Jaya and here is Ronaldo.
Who you know is going to be thinking about goals.
And assists too.
And Talisca and a wonderful block.
It was Pedroza.
Chucked himself right at the feet of the Brazilian.
Great move. Ronaldo started it.
Otavio just pulling it back to Talisca.
Jaya and then Teles.
Starting to express themselves.
Playing with confidence.
Here is Brozovic.
Who still has a turn of speed himself.
And off goes Al-Sulayhim.
Talisca wants a bit of the action.
Of course Ronaldo wants some of it.
Here he is. It's Ronaldo.
Rappels.
But still scrapping.
And eventually he's the one giving away the free kick.
It's almost like his team matrix already in his career.
In this country, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Yeah, probably goes to show how.
But even if he or someone else was to get one now for Al-Hakdou tonight,
it would matter very little.
Very strange clearance away.
Yeah, I think as a coach, you're always trying to get the positives out of a game.
And I think that's what Chabela will think after the game.
He'll say to his teammates, for a good hour,
we were in the game against one of the best sides in the Saudi Pro League.
So let's take it.
Mahid Al-Malouad is feeling the strain.
Cristiano Ronaldo, perhaps the pains of 93 minutes
of working extremely hard for his team.
But Brozovic lifting it forward.
He's played about five of them in the second half, Brozovic.
They've all landed right at the feet of players, haven't they?
Moran, Ronaldo with the trick.
Tonight, where Al-Nasr have won five in a row now.
But another night where Cristiano Ronaldo is capturing the headlines.
Two goals, the second of which was exquisite, perfect, beautiful.
All the descriptive words that so often have been used
next to Cristiano Ronaldo's name.
He, once more, will have a weekend where he will be adored
by all around him in Riyadh.
He'll have a weekend where he'll be lighting up social media
with a goal of that quality.
And Al-Nasr will have a weekend, Don Hutchinson,
where they can apply some pressure to Al-Hilal
at the top of the table, too.
Still a long way to go.
So the goal in the first half from Sami Al-Nasr,
which ultimately proved so important for Al-Nasr,
is largely going to be forgotten about because of that man
and what he has done in this second half, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Goals in the 77th and 80th minute.
One bashed in when the angle looked against him.
The third.
