Japanese raw selfish denim is great and all but sometimes you just want a pair of jeans that are
easy to wear, easy to get hold of and that don't break the bank to buy. So in today's video I'm
putting the internet's favourite affordable denim to the test and these are all pairs of jeans that
you can buy from your local high street and I'll let you know if any of them are worth buying.
These are the pairs that I'm seeing all over social media at the moment but let's get into
For reference I'm six foot, I've got a 30 inch waist and I weigh around 78 kilos and I'll leave
everything linked in the description box if you want to check anything out. So let's start off
with the 90s loose jeans from Gap and I picked these up in my regular size, a size 30 32. Now the
internet's been going wild for these jeans and they do sell out really fast but Gap seem to restock
them a lot and these jeans cost me 50 pounds which is a great price for a pair of jeans these days
and the quality does feel decent for the price but let's have a look how they fit. Okay I can
see why the internet loves these, the cut is very on trend right now but they're not really for me.
They're described as a straight leg jean but they're more of a boot cut jean in my opinion.
They flare out slightly at the bottom and it is fairly noticeable and I don't mind a slight boot
cut but these would just eat up any shoe I wore with them and I like to show off a bit of shoe.
That is the intended design though, they're meant to be longer and stack on the shoe so that's not a
negative point towards the jeans, they're just not really for me but even though these jeans aren't
for me I 100% get the hype behind these. The cut reminds me a bit of the very popular 2021 M jeans
from Acne Studios but for a fraction of the price and the shape is actually very flattering. So if
you like a wider pair of jeans with a slight boot cut these might be perfect for you and they're
great value but if you care about showing off your shoes like I do and you don't want your jeans to
eat them then they're probably not the right jeans for you. They're not for me so I'm sending them
back and while I was ordering from Gap I also decided to pick up a pair of their relaxed straight
cut jeans to give them a go. These also cost me £50, I also picked them up in my regular size,
a size 30 32 and these don't feel as good quality as the 90s pair, they're a little bit thinner but
I do prefer the fit of them. I feel like these jeans suit my style so much better and even though
they're not perfect for me I'd prefer to wear these over the 90s jeans any day. These jeans
also have a slight boot cut but it's very subtle and they don't end up eating your shoes like the
last pair do and I know a lot of you will hate the distressing on these but they come in different
colours without distressing but I wanted to give these a go because I thought they look cool. So
yeah out of the two popular pairs of jeans that I've tried from Gap the relaxed straight cut are
the pair that I choose. Abercrombie jeans are extremely popular and a lot of people love their
baggy pairs but I've tried those before and they are too baggy for my liking. I'm more of a relaxed
straight cut kind of guy and that model is very popular too so I decided to pick up their relaxed
straight cuts. These come in at £60 so £10 more than the Gap pairs but the quality does feel
decent for the price and it's still a great price for a pair of jeans these days. I tried these out
in two different colours a light wash and a black pair and in the light pair I was a size 30 32
and in the black pair I went for a size 31 32. With a lot of brands the darker coloured clothing
often comes up a little bit smaller and it's down to the dyeing process so just something to keep in
mind but the 31 32 in these fit me great. But these have a really nice shape to them and they fit
exactly how they're described. They've got a straight relaxed cut and I do think they look
pretty flattering on me if I don't say so myself. I also love the length they sit perfectly on the
top of my shoes and they just fit me well all around. They also come in different lengths so
if you're taller than me or shorter than me there should be a pair that fit you straight off the rack
which saves a trip to the tailor. They also come in a wide range of colours so there should be a
pair for everyone and yeah they're just an easy to wear pair of jeans that you can't really go
wrong with. Next up we've got the Carhartt double knees and these went really viral on social media
a few years ago but they're always well loved no matter what the trends are doing and these are
probably going to be the best quality and the longest lasting jeans on this list. They're
extremely durable but you'd expect no less coming from Carhartt and I've got to come clean this is
not my first pair of double knees. I've already got them in white and I've also got them in black
already as well but the black pair are a size too small for me so I picked them up in my correct
size this time but I already know I love these. So yeah these are a size 30 32 and they're designed
to have a relaxed fit throughout the leg and they fit me great. They've got quite a high waist which
I really like and I do like to wear a belt with these to hold them higher up on my waist.
They're really heavy so they do get pulled down by their weight so I use a belt to keep them in
place but the thing I really love about these jeans is not only their quality but the shape.
They kind of bow out or barrel out a little bit without looking like a barrel leg jean. I don't
really like barrel leg trousers or jeans but I love the way these sit on me. They also hold their
shape extremely well because of how thick they are so when you move about in these they're always
going to look good and although these jeans are the most expensive on this list coming in at around
I do think they're worth every penny and if you don't want to pay full price for these you can
always find them in your local thrift store and there's plenty online on eBay and Vinted
so you can get them for a steal. Next up I've got not one, not two but three pairs of popular Levi's
jeans to show you and just before we move on if you're not subscribed yet then please do make sure
you're subscribed. I'll do loads more videos like this so if you enjoy this content make sure you
hit subscribe. These models have been all over my social media recently and I wanted to give them
a go for myself but I picked up the 555s, the 565s and the 568s and we'll start with the lower number
and work our way up. Oh and for pricing these cost between £60 and £100. So first up the 555s
are a relaxed straight jean with a mid-rise that sits at your waist and actually all of these pairs
have a mid-rise that sits at your waist but they vary in bagginess. But the reason the 555s are
getting so popular is because they're basically like a looser 501 and a lot of people struggle
to get their thighs into 501s. I do so these are a great alternative and with this pair I actually
went up to a size 31 32 just to give my thighs a little bit more breathing room. I did try the 30 32
and they were a little bit snug in the thigh so I sized up one size in the waist but the cut of
these jeans is timeless in my opinion. They've got a very regular straight fit and the 32 length
stacks perfectly on my shoe. The back pockets could be a little bit higher up on the bum to
make your bum look a little bit better but they're a decent pair of jeans for everyday wear. Next up
we've got the 565s and these are wider and baggier than the 555s and they're meant to look like more
of a 90s jean and unlike with the 555s I picked these up in my regular size a 30 32 and they I
think they look horrendous on me. They drape horribly, they make my legs look shorter and
stockier than they are and they just look really sloppy on me. They're definitely not the right cut
for me and maybe I just got unlucky with this pair because with a lot of Levi's jeans even when they
have the same model numbers they can fit differently. So yeah but I can only base it off what I'm seeing
here and these aren't doing it for me so they're going back. And the last pair of Levi's before we
move on is the 568s which I picked up in a size 30 32 and I thought these were going to be the
baggiest pair but they're not and I definitely think these fit better on me than the 565s
but out of the 555s and the 568s there's not much in it. The 568s are slightly wider but I can't
decide which ones I prefer on me so let me know what you think. Do you prefer the 555s on me
or the 568s? Let me know. Bit of a weird question next but are you a cowboy? No me neither but if
you want jeans that make you look like a cowboy then the Wrangler cowboy cuts might be the jeans
for you. They cost around 40 to 65 pounds depending on where you get them from and these are absolute
classics so I picked these up in a size 31 32 because I've had a pair of these in the past
and they run slim on me so I sized up in the waist and I'm definitely not used to seeing myself in
slimmer fitting jeans like this and I'm not sure how to feel about them on me but on the right
person these can look absolutely incredible so I do think these jeans are worth the hype. And remember
all these jeans might fit you differently to the way they fit me it's just the way it is but
