After touring the beautiful country of Georgia for 12 incredible days, my trip was finally at an end! Come with me as I make the trip from Batumi back to my hometown of Miami, Florida!

After flying from Batumi to Istanbul, Turkey, I continued my journey with a business class flight on Turkish Airlines to Miami!

My trip through the Republic of Georgia is an experience I will never forget. I started off with three days in Tbilisi (the capital city) and then hit the road to explore the Kakheti Wine Region, Kasbegi, Gori, Kutaisi, and Batumi.

The country is so beautiful, with lots of diverse landscapes and regions, tons of history, lots of immersive culture, and of course, a wide variety of delicious cuisines! Dairy is huge in Georgia, so you’ll find lots of butter and cheese in a lot of the recipes, but it’s also a meat-loving culture, with a lot of beef and chicken.

Walnuts and eggplant are staples in the diet, and wine is the local specialty! Georgia has been producing wine for over 8,000 years. It’s the oldest wine-producing country in the world, and they’ve truly mastered the art of winemaking. There are so many special indigenous grapes you can’t find anywhere else in the world, which makes for some incredible and unique wines!

In my business class pod, 1A, I had a flat-lay bed, a charging station, a TV screen, and more. I wouldn’t wait to have a lot of Turkish food and wine on this flight. It’s roughly an 11.5-hour flight, but it’s super comfortable!

For my first meal, I had some wine from Çanakkale, called Sulva Sur 2018. It was a nice blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Food-wise, I had some salmon, shrimp, white fish, cheese, and dessert as an appetizer.

The salmon was amazing, and the whitefish came with some sour cream. It was really tasty! The shrimp cocktail and cabbage salad were also creamy and succulent. The full-bodied wine served as a great palate cleanser.

I followed that with the crumbly parmesan cheese, which is one of my favorite cheeses on the planet. I also enjoyed some amazing multigrain bread.

My main course was sea bass wrapped with vegetables. The vegetables were really nice, and the sea bass had a nice texture. It was nice to eat something so light and flavorful after the heavy, cheesy food in the Adjarian region in Georgia!

Finally, I tried the bonbon, which was covered in chocolate and had a nice creamy filling on the inside. Then, I kicked back, watched a movie, and slept for a few hours!

For breakfast, we had cheese, buckwheat, potatoes, a dolma, beans, salad, and chocolate mousse. The dolma is a grape leaf stuffed with meat and rice and was really nice. The buckwheat with tomato sauce was tasty, as were the creamy potato fritter and white cheese.

I really liked the white beans and their sauce, and the salad was nice and refreshing with the crunchy tomatoes and cucumbers. Turkish Airlines’ food is always really tasty and high-quality. The staff was also super nice! The chef kept checking to see if I needed anything else!

With 2 hours and 40 minutes left, I dove into some kofte and more buckwheat. The kofte was nice and meaty, and I loved the spices and juiciness of it. What a great way to finish up my trip to Georgia!
