Honey, are you so glad we got away this weekend to Maine?
Yes, I am. This is such a nice vacation.
The fire is burning, as is our love.
It's really passionate here.
We just like to keep the distance.
This is normal.
Hey, guess what? We're not in Maine.
We are in Santa Monica, and we've just finished a cover shoot for Fizz Bizarre with Selena Gomez,
who is really pretty and has luxuriant hair.
Thank you. I just did the shoot, so it's a little crazy.
It's extra luxuriant.
Yes, I like it.
What's your secret to luxuriant looks?
Extension.
Should I get some?
Maybe, if you want.
You know what I noticed about you, and I was surprised when I met you?
What?
Your voice is indescribably sexy.
Really?
Yes.
It was deep before. You can't go, really?
No, I know, but now this is making me uncomfortable.
So now I'm trying to figure out which tone I'm supposed to...
No, it's there.
Okay.
Okay, tell me. You have a clothing line called Dream Out Loud.
I do.
What makes you Dream Out Loud?
I guess everything in my life really helps me.
I mean, the whole reason I started my clothing line, which would be about four years ago now, was...
You were eight or nine then?
You're like, how dare you?
Seventeen.
I remember when I was younger and I would go to school, I could never afford Abercrombie.
I could never afford American Eagle, and that's what all my friends were wearing.
And I wanted to create a line that was super affordable, that was fashionable,
that when people would see a girl wearing it, they'd go, oh, what is that?
Just to make them feel good.
So that's really where it kind of started, and I don't know, I enjoy doing that.
And I guess that's what makes me continue to Dream Out Loud.
How many final shirts do you have?
Six, I counted the other day.
Six?
I did because I thought to myself, I want to buy another one, but maybe I should count before I do that.
And I did, and I mean, I bought another one anyway.
You bought another one anyway, and now you're seven?
No, six.
You're like, no, I'm not going over six.
Then why would you ask me that?
Good for now.
I was like, why is your phone so slow?
Oh, how rude.
I love this.
I'm already like, I could be your mother.
And then I get this.
First off, how dare you?
How am I supposed to be?
How many G's?
Four.
In fashion, we have 5G because it's the new 4G.
When did you feel like you sort of hit your stride with your look?
Because I think you sort of hit on a certain kind of, you know, it's like a little bit of color.
It's kind of flirty, but it's really feminine.
But it's got something going on, you know?
I've worked with my stylist, Basha, since I was 15.
I did my first music video with her.
Everything that I wear is me and her combining our ideas together.
So we kind of found a system.
And I realized, or she realized actually, before me, that I change my style when I do music.
And I change my style when I'm doing film.
Okay, discuss. Is music more like...
Yeah, the first time I did anything like that was the American Music Awards.
And I wore this like bright silver.
And that was the first time that I realized, okay, for music, I want to kind of have a different persona than when I'm acting.
I think I wore a Christian coda, and it was just super like simple, but very elegant and classy.
You ever see somebody on the red carpet and be like, bitch, I wanted to wear that.
Yes.
And it's mainly either Gwyneth Paltrow.
Would you put a cape on?
No, that's why I would look at it and go, see, I would never think to wear that, but she looks banging.
And Charlize.
Charlize Theron.
Knocks it out every time.
One thing we want to know, YouTubers, what is your favorite red carpet look of Selena's?
I'd want to know.
You can tweet at her, which you all do all day, because she has 78 million followers.
Or you could maybe tweet at me, laurabrand99, I have four.
Because we are here on our romantic weekend and you wanted to have things to wear, you brought some of your favorite things along.
I guess I'll start with this one.
Oh, what's this?
This is super cute.
It's kind of like a crop top sweater, and I put a little blue tank underneath it.
And I love what you've done with the coat hanger here.
It's really lovely.
Isn't it?
I would wear the sweater with these cute little high-waisted shorts.
This is actually my clothing line. This is Dream Out Loud.
Hang on, what's that I hear? I hear a dream.
Out Loud.
Did you just hear it?
Oh my goodness, no.
It's on the new line that's coming out, so I have really fun stuff.
I think I'm a little bit out of your demographic for Dream Out Loud.
No, my mom wears some of my shirts.
Really?
Yeah, like just regular t-shirts.
She's not rocking my beanies or anything.
This is one of my favorite leather jackets.
Oh yeah, it's got some interest.
It's got some damage.
A feature embroidery, or some damage you call it?
Yes.
I like it.
It's got some miles on it.
Steel always?
No.
Forget the tags on.
You know what we call it in Australia when your tag sticks out?
What?
You're a tag dag.
I'm a tag dag.
Are you a bloody tag dag?
What size are you?
26.
I would not wear it with the shirt underneath it.
What do you mean?
Probably wear it with a tie waist in.
This is like what Proenza's doing. You haven't been paying attention?
Trapper luck. I bet you have lots of trapper luck when you wear these.
I actually do.
Do you?
Yes.
Do you wear these on dates?
When I go out and I want a really cute guy or something, then I'll wear this.
See how impressive she is? She puts together an entire look.
Learn from this girl.
Learn from her.
What do you like for boys?
You know what I really love?
What?
I love cardigans.
Oh, you like a cardigan.
You're like a thoughtful man.
Yes.
I like cardigans and button downs or a cute old rocker shirt with cool sneakers.
Right.
They're like a chill kind of...
Or boots.
I like boots on guys.
Oh, goodness.
You're going to go far.
Thanks for having me.
You're welcome.
Harper's Bazaar loves you.
I...
Aw, me too.
