I recently attended my very first costume ball, so I sewed myself an 1860s ball gown
and traveled to Bath for a magical night of historical dancing.
Since quite a few of us were staying at the same hotel, about five of us girls
had the opportunity to get ready together and help each other with our gowns and hairstyles
and I could really imagine what it must have felt like in the old days
when sisters or friends got ready for the ball together.
Before the ball, we had some time for a photo shoot and then the night kicked off with the
couples processing in through the doors into the ballroom, curtsying or bowing to the hostess
before separating and walking all around the room and then joining together again as couples.
The process was repeated to form sets of four people ready to start the first dance.
That night, about 500 meters of fabric swept across
the historic wooden floors of the Bath assembly rooms.
And to end the video, here are just a few stills of this magical night.
I met so many lovely people there.
If not for the photos and videos we took, I would hardly believe
that I was actually there on that night and I can't wait for next year's ball.
