Infinite Blue – Karlijn Langendijk (Live in Uppsala, Sweden)

This is my composition “Infinite Blue,” performed live in Sweden at the Uppsala Guitar Festival 2025.

The idea for this piece came from my first diving experience in the Andaman Islands. I remember the silence underwater, how the surface world slowly disappeared, and everything turned into endless shades of blue. It felt calm, and unsettling at the same time.
Karlijn Langendijk’s music speaks the unspoken, painting vivid soundscapes from emotions words can’t hold. A guitarist & composer with a genre-blending style, she crafts melodies that feel like film scores for the heart. Her latest EP "PHASES" captures the seasons of life through solo guitar, each piece recorded on a different guitar to match its mood and character.

In this piece I tried to capture that contrast, the stillness and the tension. The chord progressions move like slow waves that are coming and going, while the dissonances in the melodies reflect that sense of unease beneath the surface.
