Hello from Copenhagen. We arrived yesterday afternoon. We were so tired, it was such a
long journey, we ended up just getting a really early dinner and then we just kind of crashed.
So it's actually around six o'clock in the morning now. I've been awake since three,
so the jet lag has hit pretty hard. Jessie's got a surprise booked in at 10 o'clock,
so I think we're going to get ready, head into the city early, get a coffee and then just sort
of see where the day takes us. I'm not expecting to do a huge amount today because I've no doubt
come this afternoon we're going to be so tired. I'm really excited to explore the city. We haven't
seen it yet because we're staying about probably 10 minutes out of the city. It's so beautiful.
I've really missed all, you know, sort of like the buildings and the cute little streets. We don't
have the sort of character that you have in the streets like this back in Australia, so I'm really
happy to be back. It's one of my favourite things and where we are staying it's so quiet. I love it.
I just woke up this morning and it was just birdsong and it was just so beautiful. I actually
looked out the window this morning and I saw a squirrel in the tree which I got so excited about.
Jessie's actually never seen a squirrel before and I haven't seen one in a very long time since
being in England, so they're so, so, so cute. Anyway, I think I'm going to finish this cup
of tea, get ready and we're going to head out.
So we just got back to our Airbnb. We've had the most beautiful day. We just took it
really slow. We didn't really have anywhere to be or any sort of plans or anything we really
wanted to do. We just kind of wanted to walk around the city, get a feel for the city. I think
on first impressions, this is probably one of my favourite cities that I've been to. It's such a
lovely feel to it. Like even though it's a city, it still feels quite calm and just has a nice
energy to the city. We just sort of spent the day walking around. We walked along the, I think this
is how you pronounce it, the Niehaven, where the canal is and all the boats and the colourful
buildings. That was gorgeous. And we crossed over to the Freetown area. We got lunch at the
street food market, which was a lot of fun. We just sort of sat in the sun, just meandered around
the shops, just took it really nice and slow. It's nearly four o'clock now, so I'm surprised we
actually managed to stay out that long considering we've been up since 3am. So we're just going to
chill out here for a little bit and then I think towards, you know, a little bit later in the
we're going to go for just a little walk. There's a park near where we're staying, so we're just
going to go for a walk around there and just try our best to stay up a little bit later to try and
regulate our sleep cycle, obviously because we're still quite jet lagged. And then tomorrow, I think
tomorrow we might actually do some more proper sightseeing sort of stuff. We've got a long
list of things that we want to do both in and around Copenhagen. I'm really excited for some
day trips that we've got planned. I'm so excited to head out to the countryside, even to head over
to Sweden because it's so close. Yeah, there's a lot that we want to do here. But in saying that,
we are here for two weeks, so we're not rushing through everything. We're keen to just have,
you know, just take it really nice and slow. We don't want to just pack our days from the
minute we wake up to the minute we go to sleep. We just much more prefer to, yeah, just take it
slow and actually appreciate everywhere that we're going to and not feel like we have to rush
on to the next thing. So that's our plan for the rest of the day and I will see you guys tomorrow.
Good morning. It's another beautiful day here in Copenhagen. We went for a run this morning
in the park and it was absolutely beautiful. There was little baby ducks and swans and
I was definitely in my happy place. We are heading out now. We're going to go to
this church. It's got really beautiful architecture. I'm really excited. And then
after that, we're going to go over to these like hot baths and there's another swimming
location and a museum and some coffee shops and things like that. So yeah, that's our plan for
most of the day. First stop is the church. Then second stop is coffee.
We have come to Gretchen Street Food. So many options to choose from. It's like pretty much
every cuisine from like around. So I think I'm on the hunt for some Aaron. Jesse's feeling something
a little spicy. So we might try and find some like spicy tofu bao buns or something. But yeah,
it's a really cool vibe. There's like live music. It's a lot of fun. So let's see what we can find to eat.
We ended up getting bao buns and like a vegan schnitzel burger. So hopefully these are good.
