weekend in my life in NYC: spring is here 🌷 match day party 🩺 deep clean with me, couples workout

Hello everybody good morning what's up welcome back to another weekend in my life in New York City feels so good to be back I obviously love our apartment so much and the weather is starting to get just stunning it's like 55 and sunny today I'm sitting down though I'm all dressed I'm just waiting for Ryan and we're gonna go to brunch we haven't gone to brunch in so long I made us reservation at Little Owl which is one of my go-to spots like if you're in New York and you like maybe didn't make a reservation you need like a last-minute spot Little Owl usually has reservations available and I just really like their breakfast and it's right under the friends apartment um so if you watched friends and you're really into that like it's a little photo op and it's just like a cute little spot in the West Village so we're gonna go there and then we have some errands to run I want to get more coffee beans I want to buy a picture frame and I need to go pick up a photo I printed because yesterday was match day you guys for medical school residency and Brooke my best friends also podcast co-host you know guys and all the things her boyfriend Ben has been in medical school and yesterday was match day so we found out where his residency was gonna be and we were all like you know nervous obviously because they could be moving somewhere you never know but he ended up getting into Cornell for internal medicine for residency and it's so exciting so they're gonna stay in New York City now it's huge for the company it's huge for the podcast very excited was gonna be excited for him no matter what because it would just be a fun new adventure for them but like we're all so happy so they're having a party tonight which is really exciting and I knew it's like I don't really know like what the vibes are if you're supposed to get them a gift or what the energy is but I'm not showing up to this party empty-handed and I had had this thought of like okay I knew they were gonna be taking professional photos right after match day I'm just showing you guys it's such a good video go to her Instagram or tick tock to watch but then I was like I knew she was taking professional photos I was like I'm gonna intercept those photos get it framed ASAP and bring to the parties cuz I think that'll just be such a fun reminder for them I hope they didn't already do it I mean they literally found out yesterday and then she actually posted this on Instagram so then I found the exact photo I the gal who took the photos she also works for us it goes to go she's amazing Bianca so I texted Bianca was like send me this photo because I knew she liked it and I knew Ben liked it so it was like perfect so I sent it to CVS to get printed and Ryan and I are gonna go to CB to TJ Maxx a couple stores in Soho to find like a really nice I'm gonna find an elevated frame like ideally a frame that fits an 8 by 10 photo but there's like the white border I don't know we'll see I'll see what I can get so I want to do that and just enjoy this beautiful day who knows what else we'll do I feel like there's one other thing I wanted to do but so yeah we're about to head out walk around and then tonight's the party so I'm really excited to take you guys along I'm just so happy for Brooke and Ben and that was his number one choice you guys his number one choice and I know that's not always the case and also congrats to all of you that matched for residency or if you had partners or family or whatever it may be like I know it's a very big deal so oh here's my outfit if you care I mean you guys kind of saw me get dressed but I'm wearing a set active set and then a free people fleece over top these sneakers are from DSW trench I got from the real real it is Kate and then the bag Ryan got me for Christmas and I was gonna say something else earrings are electric picks oh I just got back from Spain too I got back yesterday I was on a brand trip with DSW to Marbella Spain it was such a beautiful place like I need to go back I know my mom would just absolutely love it there and I didn't vlog because I knew that I was gonna be filming a lot of short form content and honestly I just needed a beat to not vlog for YouTube like for those few days so I have tons of content though on my Instagram and tik-tok but I am sorry that I hurt them so yeah that's that but the trip was amazing it was so fun Ryan you excited to go to brunch I'm so hungry like I could eat I love New York City on sunny Saturdays there's just everyone's out about everyone's in a good mood running their errands going to brunch I love it photo secured it looks even better in person oh so cute now I gotta go find a frame now for our favorite place to get coffee beans to 8 by 10 that's very like their apartment yeah that one I don't think their apartments very like modern gray black holds up to an 8 by 10 photo literally putting the photo in just to confirm okay flip it around oh it does work oh that's really cute okay I'm gonna buy it but I also want to go next door to cb2 and see if they have any but we'll buy this too we're literally gonna buy it like this so we don't mess it up just in case because the more times we take it in and out I don't want it to get like scratched up or anything but I also do want to see if cb2 has any frames they didn't have any with the white border and this would go good in their apartment for sure I just want to see I want to see this is another type that I was looking for this isn't big enough but I like the white border okay so they have this but they don't have 8 by 10 I don't think but that would be perfect okay so we have a frame it's good but I did find one on Michaels on uber eats Michaels uber eats has low-key saved me a few times for random things and they have a black picture frame with like the white mat around it so I got that too and it's on the way to the apartment so I could see which one looks better because obviously it's like home decor at the end of the day but I do like this one and it's very their apartment vibe I'm overthinking this I know you know what maybe we'll just keep it found this really cute card as well it's so much easier to dream of the future you want than to make it happen but you took it one day at a time push yourself and stay strong so proud of you like that's perfect for Ben our Michaels order came in and I think this is the vibe like that's elevated and I bought a gift bag but now it's not big enough for this one but I'm thinking oh I might have bows somewhere from Christmas we could bring it in like not wrapped so they could have it sitting like on the counter I hope she didn't already print photos I really hope not because I know she's working with a party planner so it's gonna be really nice but we have to hope that they didn't print this but then they could have it like you know out on display tonight this is perfect okay you do it but literally it's from Michaels you guys get started on the curd okay grand reveal oh yeah that's it money oh I'm so happy we found this thank you after literal weeks of traveling I finally have a very organized and unpacked bedroom or Ryan I just had clothes everywhere like I try to unpack and repack but then something stay out and like it is just spotless in here and so organized and that feels so good I'm doing laundry about to shower wash my hair do my hair and then Ryan and I are gonna make some dinner which is hello fresh which I'm really excited about because I really like the meals we got and then we have the party tonight we're gonna have Brian and I are gonna have our own little like pregame for their party together here at our apartment just the two of us and have like make a little moment we were gonna go it's dinner but then I'd have to like be getting ready right now I don't want to do that cuz the party starts at 8 it's 5 o'clock now finish laundry shower wash my hair and while my hair is like in a towel start the dinner we are all showered feeling squeaky clean I'm starving because we had brunch but then no lunch so definitely ready for dinner doing hello fresh we have three this part is like a volumizer well two things this part blow-dry so you like blow-dry your hair to get it dry then this is like a volumizer so like you know classic like blow-dryer brush guys and then there's a third setting where which one this one you just change it on here the third setting makes these hot bristles so it doesn't blow air so you have it all in one so when I'm packing for trips I one which is also very cute but it's not the doctor all right well I literally said don't replace if they don't have whatever okay well we've got the card and we've got the bow and we've got the Ben and I think this is cute I'm totally overthinking it I know okay now we're gonna do my hair actually I'm seriously shook at this like my hair is dry and it has volume and now I just change it to the third setting which is the heated barrel setting and that'll just kind of like set everything in place and like just use it as a heat barrel like I can't believe this why hasn't this been invented before and why is this about to be my best friend like it's it's just so good like I'm obsessed I just did this side hello this is the heated barrel I'm seriously obsessed this just makes getting five seconds and it's delicious okay final touches I was going back and forth on what to wear because it's like a house party so you want to be comfortable but I also still wanted to be cute and Brooke was like I really want to take a photo of you me Ben and Ryan and post it on gals on the go Instagram tonight and like with a cute caption and him holding the sign and I was like yes so then I was like okay my outfit really needs to be cute so this is what I landed on slip on okay little monochromatic moment but I think this is perfect this top is from Stodd I love it's like a brown sweater shirt situation pants are citizens of humanity they're like straight leg with a little flare and then shoes are from the park LaRoude collab I believe a while back so I think this is nice cute and now Ryan and I are gonna have a little pregame with the two of us Cheers! Good morning and happy Sunday. Last night was so much fun. The joy just kept going. The party was amazing. There were cookies and a candy bar and what else? They had like pre-mixed drinks which was so nice. They did a vodka crayon and a margarita. Matchboxes I think I showed but it was such a fun night. We had so much fun and then we came home and ate some fried rice and went to bed. And now it's like a gloomy Sunday and once again I'm like, we should go to breakfast. I love going to breakfast. Ryan's right here too. But yeah, we had some coffee, my new coffee beans, but it was just like a good time. No notes really. Brooke had fun. Brooke was lit. It was awesome. And we're recording, not an emergency, but like a very current podcast episode tomorrow to recap Match Day to hear Brooke and Ben's story and then talk about the party and their plans and just everything Match Day. So by the time this vlog is out, the podcast would have came out a couple days ago so you guys should go listen to that to kind of hear like their plans and everything now that he will be staying in New York and like what that looks like. So very excited to record that tomorrow but just cozied up. Okie dokie, breakfast time. Wearing this little aloe set and a white long sleeve and then I'm just gonna wear this brown suede trench. Hopefully it doesn't rain because that wouldn't be very fun. This hat I got in Montauk. I think this is from Montauk. Is this the left hand coffee? Yeah. Left hand coffee hat and some sneaks. Where are my sneakers? Oh, there they are. We're gonna try out this place. I think it came from LA and they put one here in New York in our neighborhood actually called La Croft Alley. It's very like LA breakfast burrito, good coffee, stuff like that. Now yesterday when we walked by, there was an insanely long line so we need to come up with a plan B if we approach and there's like a really long line. There's like a little line, sure, but we'd really like to try it so I have to think where else we could go over there that would suffice for breakfast, some coffee, all that but just texting back and forth with Brooke and Ben. Right now we have a group chat, the four of us and gosh, last night was so fun. I'm just so happy they're staying in New York. So exciting. We just did a little post on Gals on the Go Instagram. Fredify. I think I told you guys last night that we were gonna take a picture of the four of us and we did. How cute. Yay. What? I might just like wrap this and not have it open and then have the trench coat be the outfit. This is from the brand Dutchie London, I got it a couple years ago but they have great coats in general. I know we're like approaching spring. Today's a little gloomier so I wanna be warm but let's go. We made it. It's not a bad line. A line has built now. Okay so they didn't have decaf but I just got a single shot of espresso iced latte with hazelnut and it's the crushed ice which I love. Oh my god. That is- This looks unreal. Wow. Okay we are back now. That breakfast burrito was unreal like 10 out of 10 like I would get that so many more times. They didn't have decaf like I told you guys but I just got like a single shot of espresso and I'm gonna lean into the caffeine that's hitting me. My friend Jordan's coming over who also edits my videos so hi Jordan shoutout. My hair looks crazy. And I'm having her go through my PR and she hasn't seen the apartment, all the things. And our apartment is a mess and Jordan I don't want you to think like obviously I am cleaning for you. I don't want you to feel bad though because whenever we have someone coming over it motivates me and Ryan hardcore to like tidy up. So I need her to come over so we can tidy cause like it's just very messy so let's get like a 30 minute tidy going. Clean once again with 10 minutes to spare. Our kitchen smells so good from the surface cleaner and I've got the dishwasher going. Sleepy fish on Spotify is great. It's just like chilled beats. I like love listening to stuff like that. My reward for being done cleaning is lighting a candle. I don't know how to explain it. Jordan just left. I forgot to vlog while she was here. We were just chit chatting and she was going through my PR I was like please take everything. Tokyo's advice. So much better. I put the umbrellas there which might get annoying sometimes if I'm like walking in and I want to put something down but like whatever because this looks so much cleaner and better especially once I get around to folding those totes. I finally really really like how this looks. If I can keep up with this like this looks amazing. It's a nice entryway to walk into. Got this piece of art from Ashley Furniture and I love it. Ryan loves it too and I think we're going to hang it up in the guest bathroom so that's why I put it right here so we remember to do it before Ryan goes back to the office tomorrow. I think now I'm going to grab a magic eraser or Mr. Clean whatever those things are called. I have so many scuffs on the walls all over the apartment. So I'm just going to get to work and do as many as I can because now when I take mirror selfies you see the scuffs and that can't happen because I love mirror selfies. I think it's the best way to capture the outfit and I just get so excited so gotta have a clean background. This is what I'm talking about here. My mom introduced me to them and they are the best. If you don't have them just get a pack to have in your apartment or house at all times. And you can even, this one I just ripped a piece off because I just needed it for a little. You just soak it completely in the water and then squeeze. You guys are probably like Danielle we know how to use this but I don't know even if this helps one person. Thank goodness that was bothering me. Magic literally magic. It's not like there's soap that you need to worry about wiping off. Like and it dries so much better. I need to get these. Oh boom that was an easy one. I don't even know where all these scuffs come from. Like maybe it's when I take a clothing hanger or like my suitcases and stuff. I have no idea what I'm out here doing. Maybe boxes if I'm bringing like a package in. I don't know. Getting ready to hang up our horsies. I'll show you guys where I'm thinking. I think it'll go nice if we do it like parallel to this towel rod on that wall. I thought about doing it here but I think it's like a half inch too big for this space right here. I was literally just saying to Ryan should we go on the roof right now because Alexa says it's 56 degrees outside. So Ryan's still working and then he wanted to go to the gym. So me and Cass are going to go to the roof. I haven't seen her in a hot minute like I don't even know when. I switched into this jacket. Putting my shoes back on. And we're going to go on the roof, catch up, gossip, all the things, just all the amazing things of a girly friendship and update each other on our lives and then I think we will invite our men to the roof once we're done gabbing and we're going to order takeout on the roof. We're going to order takeout on the roof because one time Cass and Zach came over and Ryan grilled for us which was a vibe but we actually were going to invite them over to do that tonight but we weren't sure of the weather because it was maybe going to rain. Anyways, the weather's looking nicer than we thought. It might be a good sunset. The roof's open. Got to lean into it, maybe have some wine later. I don't really know. So I'm going to go on the roof, meet Cass and I'm excited. It's a really solid Sunday. I haven't had a Sunday like this in a long time where there's like laundry going, the apartment's clean, like I feel at peace. Phase two. We have now went downstairs and gotten wine. Things are escalating. We ordered food. The boys are coming up soon and we're going to have a night and it's going to be a pretty sunset. I feel it in my bones. Yay! Don't mind us for a Sunday wine tasting, deciding if we want white or red. Tonight was so fun. I'll see you guys in the morning. Good morning guys. It's 6.30am and Ryan and I are going to a class together. We're going to Stronger at Equinox and I've always said that he would really like it and he was like, let's do it. Tomorrow morning. Guys, what a great start to the day. As Ryan and I were going to sleep last night, I was on the Equinox app and I was looking at the classes for like later in the morning and Ryan usually gets up to work out at 6.30, gets back at now, I guess 7.30, 7.45. Anyways, there was a class that I've been wanting him to try called Stronger at Equinox, which is all like weights and it's just like really quick reps, like up to six reps for each. Anyways, he agreed to do it and he was like, well yeah, cause it's at 6.45, so it works with my timing. So I was like, okay, if I want to do this, like I got to get up with him and now I'm up for the day. And it was so fun. And we sat right in the front and we got corrected a lot. But that's because I think we were at the front. Yeah. Both Ryan and me. It was her first time. She was like, okay, it wasn't my first time or something. It was your first time. But yeah, it was good. And now it's like, it was raining too, so I was like, damn, it's cold, rainy and early. But we did it. We're going to make some breakfast, have a good start to the day. I have therapy today. Brooke and I are recording the Match Day podcast today, so it's going to be a very good day. Ryan left and now I just cleaned the whole kitchen. I made the bed. It's only 9am. This is amazing. I'm eating some oatmeal now. But today is Monday and I'm just sitting here trying to figure out with my family when, what day I'm going to fly home this week and I'm going to stay through next week into Easter. And then Ryan will come. My Aunt Debbie's going to come. And we're just bringing the good vibes to my dad. And I just want to say thank you guys so, so, so much for praying for him. It's, it's hard to like constantly update because things just constantly change. For the better, honestly, like there's constantly really good updates and then there's like a low. And, you know, it's just, that's just how it is. But I'm just staying super, super grateful every single day that I can talk to my dad on the phone that, you know, I get to see him again so soon. And I just feel so grateful that, you know, this is a big learning experience for my family and it's bringing us closer and there have been lots of tears. I just don't vlog them because this is kind of my creative outlet and I appreciate you guys letting that be what it is for me. But yeah, I'm sending you guys hugs to anyone that's going through like a hard time or if like a family member is sick, it's not easy at all. And it's, especially like when you're a little bit older and I feel like I'm not calling shots at all because my dad is definitely capable of doing that. But it is like, it's crazy. So, but I really genuinely believe we're going to get through this. He believes we're going to get through this. That's that. So, I'm excited to go home soon again. And yeah, I'm just figuring that out. So, I appreciate you guys checking in on me and sending love. And I really genuinely believe that we're going to get through this.
