In the 1930s, a young engineer named Kelly Johnson took a struggling Lockheed aircraft company and designed a machine that would redefine the limits of aviation: the P-38 Lightning. Known by the Luftwaffe as the "fork-tailed devil," this twin-engine masterpiece was the only American fighter to remain in production throughout the entirety of World War II.
