The film follows Alpha, a troubled teenage girl whose life spirals into chaos after she returns home with a tattoo from a party. When her mother — a doctor — fears the tattoo needle may have exposed Alpha to a mysterious Fear, illness, and deadly bloodborne disease, panic spreads through their family and community. As fear and social isolation grow, Alpha must navigate bullying, family trauma, addiction, and the emotional consequences of living in a world driven by fear and stigma.

Starring Mélissa Boros, Golshifteh Farahani, and Tahar Rahim, the film blends psychological drama with body-horror elements and explores themes of fear, disease, family relationships, and societal rejection. The film premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Palme d’Or.
