I wonder if he can possibly nick it at the very last.
Uh, but Jonas Fingegaard doesn't want that.
Doesn't want anyone around him.
Just changing the tempo as he did yesterday.
And here goes the drift.
And all of a sudden, it's a chasm that opens up.
This man is so in control of his destiny in this race.
It's going to be minor positions for just about everybody else behind him.
And he absolutely flies away.
Two kilometers out.
Said it might happen at three.
He left it a little bit later than that.
And he is now putting a stamp of authority.
Absolutely unbelievable.
It's a hallmark stamp, really, on the trophy that he's already starting to issue.
And there's nothing that anyone can do about it.
This is amazing.
He's looking really good here.
Yeah, he's pressed on.
And behind Florian Linkovic there, he was trying to chase.
That's going to stall now.
Because he just swung over and Lenny Martinez followed him.
Didn't directly go to the front.
So they're directly going to lose two, three, four seconds on Jonas Vindegaard,
who just continues to press on.
And now they're thinking about podium places.
And that's what they're racing for behind.
They're trying to shake each other here.
Look at this.
Well, we talked about the hairpins that are a feature of the Derf here.
We thought perhaps that there may well be some sprinter opportunities
coming out of these corners.
Jonas Vindegaard more than aware of that
and just wanted to put himself in the safest place.
And like he does.
He tees himself up in descents and indeed on climbs.
He knows the danger at every corner.
And so he just pushes on.
Safest place is to be isolated and alone.
And so it is.
Leipovic indeed now dropping Lenny Martin as well into the corner.
Martinez struggling to stay with him.
The leader of the Young Riders classification.
This will be for runners up spot behind Jonas Vindegaard,
who still has this sensational margin.
Doing a great job, I've got to say,
of Florian Leipovic, however.
For a big man, he floats up mountains here like rock stones almost.
And Lenny Martinez chucks in behind him right now.
And they may well just try and grind into this gap.
But you've just got the feeling that Jonas Vindegaard
can kick on any time he wants.
He doesn't have to invest more than he has done already.
He's got a margin and he's likely to carry this cushion to the line.
Nobody's going to sprint him for it, I don't think, at the very last.
1,300 metres to go.
Jonas Vindegaard is heading for, essentially, victory in this race
with one day remaining.
But behind him, Leipovic and Martinez are going to duke it out.
Perry Paltrow still not giving up the ghost.
This is great. What a phenomenal display by Jonas Vindegaard.
Flamm Rouge beckons for him.
Yeah, he looks so, so in control here as he goes up the climb.
He's not in any stress whatsoever, just pedalling his numbers.
He's just staying nice and relaxed here.
And he looks so smooth.
You see him there around the left bend,
just really smooth as he comes into this last kilometre.
Jonas Vindegaard.
He took control of this race yesterday on La Molina.
Now in the run up to Quiroz.
He owns it.
Absolutely supreme.
Smooth as silk.
Almost looks like he's hardly even mouth-breathing, for goodness sake.
Cool, calm and collected.
Now the team around him that protected him for much of the day,
gave him the platform on which to thrive.
And right now, he's just pressed launch.
And away he has gone.
And there's nothing anybody can do about it.
This bodes very, very well for the Grand Tour season,
which Jonas Vindegaard is going to go deep in.
He's doing Giro d'Italia.
He's doing Tour de France.
He's going to try and do the diamond double.
We'll see how he thrives.
Indeed, if he flies, you never know.
He might turn up at the Vuelta as well.
Is this going to be Spain and Catalunya's first view,
a last view of the man this year?
Possibly not.
Into the clouds, never a great thing.
Don't bring powder flares to a cycling event.
There's some very deep-breathing athletes here,
and they don't want that powder in their lungs.
But you try telling everybody.
Remco Evenepoel goes through the cloud, emerges from it.
He's going to get a good finish today.
He's tried so hard to tear Florian Leipovic.
There's going to be a great battle between he and Lenny Martinez.
And here is Jonas Vindegaard,
through a phalanx of fans here in full voice.
Let's listen to them.
As we cut away, we get back to the helicopter here.
Downstairs, he may as well be in a helicopter.
He's got such altitude between himself and just about everybody else.
And finally, he gets a little bit of space to thrive here.
He's going to be into the haunted sections before you know it.
400 metres away, and yet again over four hours in the saddle.
And it's almost been like a training ride.
Every single box ticked by this man, Matt.
Certainly has. He's done his job here.
Looks like he's sealed the overall as well in the process.
Tomorrow is a super-difficult course,
but in this form, you're not going to see anyone
running away from Jonas Vindegaard here on that stage.
None of the GC guys, at least.
And, yeah, he's cementing his spot as the leader in this race
and looking to take it all the way to the end in Barcelona tomorrow.
Looks behind, and indeed, I imagine he's going to have his familiar
method of celebration by the time he gets to the line.
Never forgets his wedding ring at moments like this.
And here, indeed, he's going to come home again,
kisses her part of the family,
and, indeed, says,
this mountain, and this race, and this title
are mine.
Hard to argue. Brilliant rider.
And, indeed, at the line,
it is, indeed, Lenny Martinez,
who comes across for six bonus seconds.
No time between him and Leibovitz,
but take that margin.
And so that means that Lenny Martinez
should be vaulting into second place
in the overall classification here.
Super work, and great work as well.
Peri Pantra and Remco Evenepoel,
indeed, joining us at the finish area here.
Might be an awful long time before we get our finish protocols,
but one thing we know is that Jonas Fingegaard
is in charge of this race, emphatically so,
and should be our champion after completing tomorrow's run
around Barcelona.
That could open up an opportunity for others to have a dig tomorrow.
This man had a great dig,
Richard Carapaz, showing his quality yet again,
not only in the break, but also reminding us of his greatness.
Finishes alone here, Matt,
but chapeau to him for giving it a very, very good go today.
