We both enjoyed the same performance. It was the water dance.
The ladies with the long sleeves. That was stunning. Beautiful to watch.
I love how they caught it. It was really mind-blowing.
I just thought, wow, when I grow up I wish I could be that.
I must say it's probably the best present I've received from my wife.
It's fantastic. I think everybody should see it.
It's not only performance, but the knowledge that you do receive from the show.
We thoroughly enjoyed it.
This one brought out the best of what I didn't expect.
The men's dancing was the strength, the fitness, what goes into it, the culture.
I learned a lot. I have to be honest. I learned a lot today.
And I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Everyone should go and watch it.
It's the best. I've always wanted to come.
That was the one where the young man was taken into prison.
We shared a lot of questions around that.
A lot of conversation topics for us to have at home, I think.
Lots to explore.
Everyone deserves a voice.
I think personally it's just really sad that this can't be shown in China, in their own country.
It's very sad.
I hope that one day it will get there.
I'm going to get emotional now.
I know a little bit about what goes behind the scenes and the direction.
And to have done this for so long and just come up every year with one show better than the next.
Absolute genius.
It's got a message across to the whole world and everything.
And I'll be passing it on.
I'll be passing it on to my sisters, my family, my children and my grandchildren.
A beautiful performance.
I actually amazed the dancing.
Very, very hard acrobatics and very beautiful dressings and orchestra.
It's amazing.
An amazing cultural dance.
It's eye-opening in regards to the comprehensive and the wholeness of the dance.
And it just amazes me because there's so many techniques within the dance and the performance itself.
Teach about experience.
Teach about values.
Teach about how to be happy.
As a former immigrant from the Soviet Union,
Georgian MP Gref Tsaiwa has a lot to say about the story of the Falun Gong practitioners not being oppressed by the CCP.
A lot of emotional parts there.
Mother and son and the woman she wants to learn.
And what she did to try and pursue with her learning.
It's very interesting and inspiring as well.
Freedom.
Yeah, always.
Always the important part of our society.
It should be everywhere.
And this is human rights and we should follow our beliefs.
Definitely and believe in what we think is right.
It's great that people get to learn about the messages that, you know,
the dancers want to be portrayed into our society in Australia.
So the freedom of speech is obviously very important.
I think the uniqueness is that you don't see performances with so many sections of the story.
So the storytelling is significant.
I think the most moving part for me is how flexible the dancers are
and how quick they change into the costumes.
I learned a lot from trying to understand the root cause of traditions,
current traditions and actually legacy of Chinese people and China overall.
There's definitely this message that Shen Yun wants to pass on
and it's something that I have learned
and I think people should come and watch to see and understand the cultural aspect of it.
There's traditional dance culture and humorous sections.
They all make people feel good.
I think whether it's the Asian audience or the local Australian audience,
everyone can feel the message that you want to convey in the show
and there are some very ingenious sections.
So I think it's a very surprising place.
Shen Yun not only brings the beauty of traditional culture
but also puts a lot of information in it
including the concepts of good and evil,
morality, the destruction of the modern world
and more importantly, the brutal regime
and the abuse of the people.
I think this is a reminder to all of us
that there is injustice and injustice in this world.
So we need to resist
and we need to help those around us who need our help.
Shen Yun is very popular outside of China
but at the same time, he is under pressure and threat from the CCP.
Director Wu Zhengwei said that people living in a free country should take action to express their support.
The great spirit of Chinese culture is worth promoting.
More importantly, everyone has the freedom to perform and everyone has the human rights.
I think everyone should be respected and valued.
So through Shen Yun's performance, I want to remind everyone again
that this kind of artistic performance, this kind of cultural spirit
is worthy of everyone's respect and support.
There should be no political intervention or even suppressing support.
I think this is something that everyone living in a free and democratic world
should have this kind of experience
Director Wu Zhengwei believes that Shen Yun will soon be able to perform in China.
Everyone will be happy for the people of China
because they can finally come into contact with this free world.
They can freely express their thoughts and ideas.
I think this is something to look forward to.
It's very impressive.
It's an amazing production and I'm really glad to be here.
It's obviously very powerful and very professional.
I'm not a musician or a dancer,
but I can appreciate the incredible skill of the performers and the live orchestra.
I mean, it really is a very fabulous performance.
It's highly skilled and it's a great, great entertainment.
And yeah, people should come and see it.
Mr. Lyle Shelton is the chairman of the first family party in Australia.
I think the way you told the story of the oppression from the CCP,
I think that's very powerful to use the dance and the narrative
to demonstrate the organ harvesting.
That was very clear.
That was quite brutal and it's very confronting.
But I think people need to see that, need to understand that people in China,
whether they're Falun Dafa or Christians,
are being persecuted for their faith by a violent, atheistic regime
which wants to impose its worldview
and doesn't have room for people to express alternative worldviews.
And that's wrong.
In a free society, people should be free to make truth claims about religion,
about their culture and their history,
and the government should get out of the way.
I think the Falun Dafa is presenting its virtues
and they're similar virtues to Christianity,
although they're different narratives of creation and salvation,
very different.
And that's okay, we can have our differences in a free society
and we can talk about those,
but there must be freedom to express our religious values and virtues.
And so I think it's really important
and I think it's wrong of an atheist regime,
a violent atheist regime in the Chinese Communist Party,
not the Chinese people, but the Communist Party,
to try and shut down that discussion and that history and that heritage.
I came in defiance of the Chinese Communist Party
because when I heard that officials from the consulate in Melbourne and Sydney
were telling Australians not to go, that made me want to come all the more.
I think it's really important that you keep the Chinese culture and heritage alive
in the face of the CCP.
Look, obviously I'm someone of the Christian faith,
I subscribe to a different creation story and a different story of salvation,
but I respect the right of others to tell theirs
and it makes me very angry that the Chinese Communist Party
wants to stop people talking about their religion and their history
and their culture.
And to say that to Australians,
that they shouldn't go and watch a particular production,
that just goes against everything that we believe as Australians
and I just want to say to the CCP and their officials
in the consulates in Melbourne and Sydney
and whoever sent the bomb threat to Anthony Albanese,
back off.
This is Australia, we're a free country
and people are free to express their religious beliefs
and their cultural heritage.
Obviously it's an amazing stage production,
it's very professional, it's visually spectacular
and obviously it's got a religious message,
it's not my religion but it's a religious message that I respect
and it's got a very important message to the Chinese Communist Party
and I think more people need to understand that in particular
because I think a lot of people, particularly Australians,
are asleep and don't realise how violent and how evil
the Chinese Communist Party is.
Not the Chinese people,
but the Chinese Communist Party is a very evil regime
and I think Australians need to be awake to that
and the Chinese Communist Party needs to stop interfering in our nation
and telling us what shows we can go to at the theatre
because we're not going to put up with that.
It was fantastic, really really great, I enjoyed it.
It's not something I'd normally do,
I don't normally attend these sorts of things
but I really loved it, it was great.
Oh look it's beautiful, the costumes are amazing
and the amount of rehearsal and practice it would take
to perform some of those moves is just unbelievable
so yeah, really beautiful and perfect actually.
The dancing is just not a fault,
so the costumes are lovely as well,
so beautiful, beautiful performance.
I thought the show was amazing,
I completely loved it, I've been dancing since I was two
so I appreciate it a lot.
I really thought about the technique and the time that it took
to develop these skills and I thought it was very impressive.
It was truly divine really, it was amazing
and it's a great story and it captures China's ancient rich cultural heritage
so it was wonderful.
Look I think the whole thing is amazing really,
I mean like I said it's pure perfection
and they make it look so easy.
Yeah it's amazing, beautiful, very beautiful show.
Yeah it was very captivating
and I was very taken aback by the performances,
they were quite skilled and it was amazing.
It was clearly a very rich heritage, rich culture.
But the other thing I would also say too,
the stage movement is seamless
so you can't hear the piano coming on and off,
the dancers in the traditional costumes with the wooden shoes,
you can't even hear them when they're dancing in those shoes,
I mean it's amazing.
So look, it's unbelievable.
Definitely come and see.
The three members of the audience praised Shen Yun after watching the show.
The dance performance was very interesting,
the choreography was exquisite and it drew everyone in.
I liked the story in a few of the scenes
but the one about you reap what you sow,
I thought that was very powerful
and the way it was performed and the way it was conducted
was also entertaining.
I liked it, yeah.
The language isn't a barrier, let's put it that way.
You can come and see the show
without obviously speaking any form of Chinese or any other dialect.
So yeah, I think from that perspective anyone can come and see the show
because yeah, you can see the story be performed without having any words.
There's modern truth in ancient wisdom, of course,
and tonight showed that, yeah.
I think there's a very large component there about Falun Gong
and that to me shows that there's an oppressed minority
that are really trying to stay relevant
and stay culturally relevant at the same time.
So I think that was very powerful for me to see that.
To fight through that demise, I suppose,
and that trauma in many ways,
to come through that and then to be positive and to be strong
and to maintain that all around the world.
Yes, obviously starting in New York, but 18 countries, I believe,
for this performance.
To bring that around the world with such positivity and enthusiasm
I think is a testament to the people.
I think the truthfulness
and I think the courage and patience
I think is very important as well.
Definitely come and see it. It's amazing.
There's something in it for everyone.
I would love to tell them all about it.
I can't wait to when I go to school.
I think it's great and I think everyone should watch it.
There's a lot of knowledge in it.
There's a lot of wisdom
and it's beautiful.
Instead of reading big books,
it's better to go to the show and focus on
what every theme, every performance,
what message it carries.
I really loved it. It's such a beautiful show.
The colours, the artwork,
especially considering what I do for a job,
I'm just so inspired.
It made me
thought about
how the culture actually evolved as well
over the past century.
I became more aware about different types of fashion,
different types of dance as well.
There's so many vibrant colours that you use
and also the scenery that you use
in a lot of the footage that's behind the dances.
I find that quite intriguing because
a lot of those colours I can bring into my designs.
I just think it's so beautiful.
What I loved about it is
the themes.
So many themes within such a short period of time.
But also the depth
about the culture
and the ethics behind that
and the significance
of acts as well
and how they
taught us about
to be good,
to be ethical,
to have high standards.
I think the culture is very important
and we need to preserve that
through the shows, through the art.
Honestly, it definitely not only comes through
but I think it transcends with all the actual
people that are in the audience.
You can see that everyone is intrigued
and is going to go home and research that.
Because none of us, I think the majority of us
didn't even know what it was.
And the fact that it can't be practiced in China
I want to learn why.
I want to learn the history of it.
