Want bigger, stronger calves? Most people are doing calf raises completely wrong. In this video, I break down exactly how to perform calf raises with perfect form so you can maximize growth, improve strength, and avoid injury.
Proper Calf Raise Form:
- Balls of your feet on the edge, heels slightly hanging off
- Keep a soft knee bend (don’t fully lock or bend)
- Drive through your toes and lift your heels as high as possible
- Squeeze your calves hard at the top (pause for 1 second)
- Lower slowly and control the stretch before the next rep
Common Calf Raise Mistakes:
- Bouncing reps and using momentum
- Going too heavy and cutting reps short
- Locking your knees and shifting tension off the calves
If your calves aren’t growing, it’s not genetics—it’s execution. Fix these mistakes and start seeing real results.
