Hi, I'm Mark Russo and welcome to Museum Michelangelo.
Today I wanted to share with you what we believe to be the most valuable artwork in the history
of the world.
Michelangelo created the David, it took him three years to do this, over 500 years ago.
In 1928, Marinelli Sr. was given permission to go to the Gallery of Academia in Florence,
Italy and lay a plaster directly on top of the marble masterpiece itself.
It is from this plaster mold that we are creating an 80,000 ounces of pure silver original by
Michelangelo as a one-of-a-kind.
This piece, now in production, which will be complete this year, has an appraised value
of already over 800 million dollars.
When done, we believe it will eclipse that of about a billion dollars in value, making
it the most single valuable art asset that exists in the world today.
A number one original in pure silver by Michelangelo's David is the grand honor of my life to be
able to have this piece with empirical provenance, listed in the official catalog resume of the
Vatican Masterpieces and the Global Art Authority.
It's such a rare treasure, and if you look at the history of Michelangelo as an artist
of hope and inspiration, and you look at what's been done in the world today, and if you actually
search out the most known and famous artwork ever in mankind, going back millennia, the
David is the number one most known art object to all of humankind.
And to be able to have this in the most elegant and glamorous metal, silver is the most conductive
metal that exists in the world today.
It's beautiful, it radiates energy, it's elegant, and it has healing properties.
Right here is the first part of the silver David that's just been completed at over 6,000
ounces of silver.
All the other parts, the hands, the feet, and the base are being cast right now in pure
0.999 silver, and should be complete by the end of this year.
It's so exciting for us to be able to have this product, to share it with the world.
It will reside in our museum, Museo Michelangelo, but to be able to share with you what we believe
to be the most valuable artwork ever created in mankind is one of the greatest honors of
my life.
