Calligraphy and Hand Lettering Books for Beginners

I am not so much of an avid reader, therefore I tend to choose books with just enough educational text and more diagrams and imagery examples rather than a wordy explanation. So here I am sharing with you the books I found very helpful in learning and improving my chops. If you are wondering why are there more books on the topic of calligraphy than on lettering? The way I see it is that lettering is like the free-spirited child of calligraphy. If you develop a solid understanding of calligraphy it will inevitably improve your lettering skill.
