Anatole Chaboissant | One of the Most Exciting Volleyball Setters in the World !!! Discover everything about one of the most exciting young setters in world volleyball — Anatole Chaboissant.
Anatole Chaboissant is a rising French volleyball talent, born in 2003, who plays as a setter. Standing at 1.89m, he combines intelligence, precision, and composure well beyond his years, making him one of the most promising playmakers of his generation.
He began his journey in Niort before developing through the French National Volleyball Center (CNVB), a system known for producing elite players. His breakthrough came with Nantes Rezé Métropole Volley, where he became a starting setter at just 19 years old. During his time there, he helped the team reach the top level in France and won the French Cup in 2024.
His performances didn’t go unnoticed, as he was named Best Young Player of the French Ligue A in 2023 — a major recognition that confirmed his elite potential.
After Nantes, he continued his progression at Paris Volley, where he impressed enough to earn his first call-up to the French senior national team in 2025. This marked an important milestone in his career, as he officially entered the international scene.
He later signed with Alterna Stade Poitevin for the 2025 season, stepping in as a key setter for the team. Despite facing an injury setback, he returned in early 2026 and continues to be an important player to watch.
On the international stage, Chaboissant has represented France across multiple youth levels and is now part of the new generation aiming to lead the national team in the future, following in the footsteps of players like Antoine Brizard.
What makes him special is his playing style — he is known for his high volleyball IQ, precise and balanced setting, fast offensive tempo, and calm decision-making under pressure. His ability to read the game and distribute the ball effectively makes him a true floor general.
Although setters don’t usually score many points, his stats in European competitions are impressive, showing his contribution through aces, blocks, and overall playmaking impact.
With a French Cup title already under his belt and individual awards early in his career, Anatole Chaboissant is clearly a name to remember.
