We have coyotes that live here and he showed up.
Get out of here.
It was imperative for us to get him in the house because we did not want anything to happen to him.
He walked straight up to me.
We knew we had to take care of him.
I gave him some food.
I'm going to guess he was dumped.
He was not microchipped but his fur felt like straw.
So he wasn't getting proper nutrition.
He felt very dry and hungry.
And then that night he met my husband.
He put his little paws on my husband's lap and was just staring at him.
And my husband melted.
It was very easy to bring him inside.
That was the strange part.
He instantly felt comfortable.
He laid on the bed and went to sleep.
When he's inside and he hears the coyotes, his pupils dilate.
He growls.
All his hair stands up.
He's still very afraid.
So I know when he was out here he was constantly having to stay safe from coyotes.
Which breaks my heart.
The next day he actually went on the catio.
So we have a catio that's attached from the bedroom.
And he went on the catio and he was okay.
He was happy.
So he had to have been someone's cat at some point.
I always tell my husband I don't know if he belonged to somebody before or not.
But they really lost a wonderful cat.
Because we put up the posters.
We tried to do all the avenues of figuring out if he did belong to somebody.
Even though we were not ready.
And we didn't think we were going to have any more pets.
We said okay we have to go get him neutered.
And now he lives with us.
