The new chic hairdo. I love your hair, Selena.
It's so funny. I was wearing different wigs. I was trying on some stuff and I posted the picture because I like the image.
And evidently people thought I was going to come with my hair really short. But it's still the same length.
It's a little shorter though, right?
It is a little shorter.
Are you tempted to go even shorter?
A little bit.
Yeah, you're working your way there easily.
I don't know. We'll see.
Are you going to go for the full crop?
I don't know. I'm terrified. I'm going to keep it safe for now.
So you're hosting today. I'm sure you get asked to host so many things. Why is WE Day so important to you?
This is my fifth time actually coming to WE Day.
And the reason why I fell in love with it at first is because I love that it celebrates what kids are doing.
A lot of the times I think the misconception are kids are thinking, oh, what am I going to do?
Or, oh, I feel like it's a lot of work. Not all my friends would do it with me. And is it cool?
I mean, WE Day celebrates the fact that kids can come together and put their mind to anything.
It's not just one organization.
It's multiple things that they're doing for their community, for health, for nutrition, for activity, physical activity.
They're wanting to make an impact everywhere.
Do you feel inspired being around these kids?
Yes. I walk away going, man, okay, I need to be doing a little bit more.
I think, you know, it feels empowering. But that's the point. That's what we want people to do.
You've always been very vocal about self-love, self-empowerment.
And your successful projects like 13 Reasons Your Music, you're always sending out that message.
So why is it so important to you to send out that message, to be strong?
To be honest, I don't take every day I have for granted.
I think I'm very blessed to be in the position that I'm in.
And though I get to do what I love every day, I have to be mindful that not everybody is as fortunate.
And if I can use my platform for any sort of goodness, I will try to do that.
So that's kind of my outlook.
You're doing a good job.
