This person is associated with: Impressionism Although Degas is linked to the Impressionist movement of the late 19th Century in France and was at his peak of productivity along with his Impressionist contemporaries, he was not a painter who adapted the Impressionist ideals of landscape. Instead he focused on figure studies, especially those involving action, such as the dance classes and horse racing as well as portraits.

He is best known for his experiments with unorthodox visual angles and asymmetrical perspectives, best demonstrated in his canvases of ballet classes and his perspective of women at their toilet.
