Tonight, from Republicans, the House just passed a bill requiring automatic deportation
of illegals who commit welfare fraud. House Speaker Mike Johnson is now here with more.
That's a good start. The SAVE Act is now in the Senate. I'm cautiously, cautiously optimistic and
hopeful, but I'm concerned. I don't know if it's going to get over, you know, past that hurdle in
the Senate. Your thoughts? Well, we certainly encourage all senators to do the right thing and
do what the American people demand and deserve. The Republican senators are working hard to pass
the SAVE America Act. Of course, we passed it out of the House three times, the SAVE Act twice,
and now the SAVE America Act. Sean, very simply, you're talking about requiring proof of citizenship
to register to vote and a photo ID when you show up to do that. Those are 90-10 issues in the
say that that is a common-sense regulation and restriction on voting, and they won't do it.
The Democrats in the Senate will not do it. And now you see this latest gambit that the House
Democrats, Senate Democrats have joined together, the same group that gave us wide-open borders
and defunding the police. Sean, they're at it again. They are refusing to reopen TSA and FEMA
for the American people unless they can also reopen the borders for illegal aliens. That's
exactly what's at stake right now. I mean, it's pretty remarkable. Tell us about this bill you
passed tonight. Well, this is a very important thing. I mean, we've got to crack down on fraud,
waste, abuse in government, the abuse of our federal welfare programs. Obviously, it's a big
problem in the country. And if you have illegal aliens who have already violated the law to come
here and they're engaging in these other crimes, you know, bilking the federal taxpayers, they
ought to be immediately deported. The Democrats do not want to deport criminal illegal aliens.
But 83 percent of Americans do. They understand this is critical to maintain the rule of law and
law and order. Listen, this is what's really important, people, to understand. The Department
of Homeland Security is the third largest department of the federal government. There are
10 agencies in DHS, and they happen to be the agencies that are there, just as the name suggests,
to keep Americans safe. You have 260,000 employees. One of those agencies, just one of them, is Customs
Border Patrol. It's the largest federal law enforcement agency in America. They are trying
to defund it. They want to defund the police. And this time, it's the people that keep the borders
closed and keep our communities safe and get and deport these dangerous people out of our country.
What do you make of this resignation yesterday of this guy, Joe Kent? By the way,
contradicting his own statements from a short time ago and even four years ago, he's consistently
said, take out Iran's ballistic and nuclear weapon systems. But what do you make of the way
that he did it? I'm a little suspicious in this way, because he once held the position that you
hold, I hold, and the president concluded. It's the president's decision. And all of a sudden,
he changes and tries to, you know, cast himself as some victim, some martyr, that he's standing
up for what's right, that there wasn't an imminent threat. And we all know what Steve
Whitkoff told the nation, saying they were bragging they had 460 kilograms of 60 percent
enriched uranium, which means it's weapon grade 90 percent in a mere seven to 10 days.
How is that not an imminent threat? Yeah, that's a great question. I'm not sure what
Joe Kent is reading, but it's not the same intel that I've seen. Look, I'm on the Gang of Eight.
We got all the briefings before this operation in Iran began. We got briefings during and then
after it commenced. And the intelligence was exquisite. It was very clear this was an imminent
threat to the United States and America's interest. And the commander in chief did exactly the right
thing. He had to protect American lives. We knew that those ballistic missiles that they were
stockpiling and preparing were going to be fired at our troops and our civilians and our
installations in the region. And so the commander in chief did what he had to do. Joe Kent seemed
to understand that until about 24 hours ago. I'm not sure what happened there. There's lots of
discussion about it on Capitol Hill, as you can imagine. We're trying to get down to the bottom
of it. But he is an outlier. I'm telling you, as we noted earlier, Bongino and others have said,
everyone else in the administration and everyone who sees the actual intelligence
understands clearly that the president did what he had to do.
All right. And Speaker Johnson, I think you would confirm, as I know, as Dan Bongino knows,
anybody that knows the president knows he is a man of his own mind. He will listen to everybody.
He'll listen to all points of view. And he's going to make up his own mind. Then it's the
job of those people around him to support the policies. He was elected commander in chief,
not them. Some of them need to learn that. That's right. We appreciate.
You're exactly right. And he's restoring peace through strength and America is better for it.
And so is the all of the free world. Well, OK, peace through strength. He learned the lesson
of the last century where over 100 million people died because we didn't take action when we could
have sooner on many occasions. And he also doesn't want to get into a quagmire. And that has been
and will be the Trump doctrine throughout his presidency that I can pretty much,
you know, take that you can take to the bank. Speaker Johnson, thank you.
