Israel Confirms Killing of Iranian Intelligence Minister, Analyst Discusses Potential Replacement

Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Katib was killed in an overnight strike in Tehran.

Joining NTD to help explain the significance of this is Babak Shekarabi, a political analyst, and founding member of Cyrus the Great Institute.

He tells NTD that Katib was an extremely powerful official within the Iranian regime, being in charge of all the minor Ayatollahs. Furthermore, his history is remarkable, and based on the regime’s rules, the current head Ayatollah, Mojtaba Khamenei, who is currently missing, is the only one who can replace Katib.
