Coach, your 2025 Young Player of the Year is Morgan Rodgers.
It's actually incredible because I had the pleasure of watching you tear Sunderland apart,
playing for Lincoln City in the playoffs, just as we were coming out of COVID.
Then you got the championship move to Middlesbrough.
Twelve months later, you were playing for England.
Can you get your head around this whirlwind story that you've been on?
Not really, no. I'll be honest.
Yeah, it's been a surreal kind of 12 months.
Mo, congratulations.
This is the first time ever that this award has been won three times,
which shows your superhuman consistency.
So what does it mean to be voted for by the other players in the best league in the world,
held three times?
It's an incredible, incredible feeling.
I just want to thank everybody who voted for me,
doing that in the Premier League and at that age, 33 now.
So it's incredible.
Well, that's it. You're 33 now,
but you've just had your best ever season in terms of goals and assists combined.
How have you managed to keep raising the bar and getting better and better?
I don't know. I just enjoyed my football.
I remember like 10 years ago, I think I didn't make it well in Chelsea.
Then I said, I'm going to leave the country.
I don't want to play here anymore.
Then I went to Rome.
Then it was always in my mind, like, this is the way I want to play.
This is the football I want to play.
Then I joined Liverpool.
And yeah, that is it.
So does Summer.
Is this team you're playing in this season even better than last year's title winning side?
No.
Well, it's tricky.
I can't say yes or no.
It's just tricky because you're signing very good talent.
And also you let some great players, very good players leave.
And you know what happened also with one of our teammates.
So it's just, you need also to give your experience to the new players
because they never played in Liverpool.
And playing in Liverpool is not that easy at all.
Like with the media they have behind the club and the side of the club.
So it's a huge pressure for the younger players.
And we try, me and Virgin and the old guys in the team,
try to give them experience and help them in and off the field.
It's an honour to be in this team, but how much has it come down to the team you're part of?
All of it.
You know, it's a team sport.
You do it together.
You work so hard during the week to perform.
Obviously on match days.
And obviously I think all of us could say the same.
You being voted in the team by your peers is such a true honour.
And the highest honour I think you can get as well.
But I think everyone has been saying that exactly as well.
I want to interview you right now.
I want to say congratulations on all your success so far.
Me as an Arsenal fan, any chance of you slowing down any time soon?
I think you have a great team this season.
Also last season.
So you have a really good chance.
I think you are favourite now because you have a player that's been together for five years.
So, yeah.
I can't say we shoot luck, but hopefully we do it again.
I get that.
29 goals in the Premier League last season.
18 assists.
I mean, the numbers are phenomenal.
Just in the league alone.
Have you got a secret?
I ask Chris Wood this.
Have you got a secret?
What is it?
I'm just getting old.
So I think I can handle more of the pressure now.
I think last season was incredible.
My best season in my career.
And I'm glad it went so well.
And winning the Premier League with Liverpool.
And have that impact in the team was just incredible.
Mo, do me a favour.
Can you just give some advice to the younger viewers watching?
If they want to be footballers.
Some in academies.
Some are scholarship boys.
Or even players that are trying to dream of being a footballer.
Is there anything that stands out to you?
A bit of advice.
I just say, guys, when you are young, you just find it really hard to believe in yourself.
But I think when you know that you do the right thing over and over and over again,
it will pay off and you will achieve your dream.
Whatever you want to achieve, like football or whatever career you want to achieve,
just keep working hard.
I know in a moment you don't see the bright light, as I said.
But just keep believing in it and it will happen.
You're a role model.
Thank you.
I shouldn't say good luck, but good luck with the season.
Thank you.
Blessings, Mo.
Come on, Blush.
Come on, big brother.
How are you?
You good?
I'll let you take the mic.
Thank you.
We've got a few questions for you, I'll be honest.
We're live on TikTok.
You come with no glasses.
You come with the aura.
Nah.
Who's drinking apple juice, by the way?
Me, me, me.
I don't drink alcohol.
I don't drink water.
I drink apple juice.
Nice, nice.
What's the sugars, though?
Sugar.
What's the sugars?
Watch it.
Yeah, you've got a good diet.
I get it, I get it.
I'm high energy, Virg.
Keep the energy.
It's always good.
Who has the most aura in the Premier League for you?
No, we don't speak of that.
You don't want to do that?
I'm not here to give opinions.
I'm just happy to be here.
You're happy to be here?
I'm blessed.
You're one of the best Premier League defenders.
Come on.
Don't do the humble thing on me.
That's a nice gesture from you.
Thank you very much.
He's doing the sweet way.
Smooth.
I'm friends with Nathan Hackett.
You too.
You Dutch, man.
I'm so very just relaxed.
Yeah, he's my guy.
He's my guy as well.
Okay, can I ask you, who's tricky in the Premier League that you defend against?
Is there anyone that swings to mind?
There's so much good strikers nowadays, good attackers.
Is there one that stands out that's been, over the years, that's caused you, that you
think, oh, they're good players, caused me a few problems at times?
Haaland, Isak, Watkins.
Oh, yeah?
Harry Kane.
Obviously, speaking about the last couple of years in the Premier League, there were
plenty there.
Everyone has a different challenge against them, so I respect everyone.
Everyone that's playing in the Premier League, because it's the hardest league in the world.
Okay, I like that.
Who's the most stylish at Liverpool?
Who's the most stylish?
Come on.
I don't say myself.
You don't say yourself?
No.
Just because I let others do the talking.
Virgil, you come with glasses.
You come in glasses.
Look at that.
No, no.
It's just a bit of me.
No, others can make that opinion.
But, like I said, I'm happy and blessed to be here.
Yeah?
And excited for the season, obviously.
For sure.
Starting strong.
Everything looking good?
Do you feel like you're going to be back up there?
Yeah, still work to do.
Still work to do.
But, hopefully, we can get that going as soon as possible.
We're really looking forward to it.
You're taller in person.
I am.
I'm trying to think.
Can I?
You're impossible.
All right, listen.
I'll let you enjoy the rest of the night.
Good to see you, brother.
Virgil, pleasure, my man.
Thank you very much.
Very nice.
Firstly, excited to be here.
Obviously, the BFA World Cup had an amazing season last season.
Happy to be here?
Happy to be here.
First of all, thank you.
Thank you.
And excited, man.
Excited for tonight.
I can see.
I was all around.
I like that.
Always.
One of the comments asks, who's your favourite team-mate in Liverpool at the moment?
Favourite team-mate?
Who's one that you're closest to?
Ooh.
Yeah, I can give it to a few.
OK, give me some.
I think Cody.
OK, yeah.
Yeah, nice.
You've got good vibes in there.
Yeah, yeah.
You've got good vibes in there.
Virgil come on with the sunglasses.
That's what I was going to say.
He's doing it all the way.
He's like, nah, nah, nah.
He's doing the humble thing.
But you've got a good group, especially here tonight as well.
Yeah.
For you, do you think you can replicate what you achieved last season as well?
One for your club, but also the levels you were hitting were phenomenal, bro.
Do you think you can replicate that this season?
Is that the plan?
Yeah.
If you want to be a top player, you have to show it every season.
So that will be my goal for this season.
OK, OK.
Two more just off the cuff.
Yeah, yeah.
You're a Dutchman.
What would you like to take from or have more respect here in the UK?
Like what sort of things that you enjoy back in the Netherlands that you wish had more
respect here in the UK?
What is it?
Is there food?
Is there a drink?
Is there a culture?
Is there a musician?
Is there more respect here?
Yeah, is there something that you wish that was as respected back in the Netherlands as
here?
Like an artist, an artist's type of food?
No, difficult, difficult, difficult.
Difficult question.
I don't know now.
I don't know at the moment.
All right, listen, I'm going to let you go, but enjoy the rest of the evening, brother.
You too.
Good luck as well for the season.
Live on TikTok.
So I have to do this.
Hello, everyone.
Say hello.
Big up, everyone.
How many people?
100,000?
7,000.
We've got 981,000 likes.
You want to get to a billion.
I need to ask you, what's been your favorite moment in a Liverpool top?
Oh, wow.
When we won the Premier League, I think that was quite special.
If you ask individually, I think it's a tough one because we had so many in just two years.
So I don't know, but hopefully many more to come.
OK, let me ask you this.
I was in Buenos Aires, Argentina when you won the World Cup.
I was at Obelisco, yeah?
Yeah.
I had the best time of my life.
How much of a moment was that winning the World Cup as well for you?
Unbelievable?
Yeah, it's crazy.
I mean, I don't think it's something that...
Can it be topped, that feeling?
It's hard to get something better than that.
And when we saw five million people in the street, it was something crazy.
Crazy.
Yeah.
And listen, when we won the Premier League with Liverpool, it was like one million or so,
and it was just a city.
But to see a country, five million people there, it was so special.
I was out in Palermo at the Temple Bar, living my best life.
I had a great fun.
I need to ask you this as well, quickly.
If you could play one position for one match, what would it be?
Different to your one now, and why?
I would love to be a goalkeeper one day.
Really? Do you know what?
So many players have said that.
Really?
You would love to be a goalkeeper one day.
But look at me, 175, that's impossible.
We'll let you go in and enjoy the rest of the evening.
