DINING ROOM MAKEOVER 2026 || SPRING DECORATE WITH ME | BUDGET FRIENDLY HOME TRANSFORMATION IDEAS
Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel, my name is Karly Lisa or Kelly and in today's video
we are going to be doing a dining room refresh and makeover. I've been feeling like this space
needed a new face and look and having kids I wanted the space more practical and simple for
a long time but now my kids are growing up and I feel more comfortable filling the space with
pieces that are more my style and what I really want for this area to feel like. So today I'll
be changing a few key elements, bringing in new pieces, DIYing and slowly transforming this
dining room into space that feels much more like us. So the first thing I wanted to change and
upgrade were my drapes. I recently updated the drapes in my living room and I wanted to keep
a cohesive look throughout these main open areas by using the same curtains here in the dining
room so I wanted to bring again my favorite curtains by two pages. These are custom curtains
and that means they are made to fit your exact window measurements and that makes such a difference
because they hang perfectly from ceiling to floor and give the room a much more tailored and elevated
look. Another detail I really appreciate is that they come with starter clips that help keep the
structure which makes the drapes look polished and super luxurious right away. So the next thing
I did was taking down my old curtains to install my new custom drapes I'm in love with. For the
curtains in my living room and dining room I chose the Liz linen fabric collection. I love how it
brings such a beautiful weight and plenty of cozy textures to the space while still keeping everything
light and airy with a beige white color. They have plenty of color choices but I wanted to switch to
a brighter look for this time of the year. Here I'm installing the new curtains and even just a step
already started to transform the space. Hanging them higher and letting them fall all the way down
to the floor really helps the windows feel larger and the room feels more elevated. I love how the
soft linen texture instantly warms up the space while still allowing plenty of natural light to
come in. I chose the triple pleated option because it gives the curtains a more structured and elegant
look and I love how they keep that beautiful pleated shape as soon as they were hung up due
to the memory shape feature. Another thing I love is that they barely have any wrinkles. I just
quickly steam a few wrinkles and they keep that beautiful and neat look all the time. I've been
receiving many questions about the features of these curtains and actually something that I
really appreciate about ordering these curtains is how easy the customization process is on the
website. You can start by selecting the fabric collection and the color you prefer and choosing
from a wide range of heather styles depending on the look you want for your space. I personally
went for the triple pleated and after that you can also choose your privacy options for a variety
of linen options depending on how much light filtering or privacy you want in the room.
One of my favorite parts is how simple it is to select the exact size you need. You can enter your
custom width and length measurements so the curtains are made specifically for your windows
which helps them hang perfectly from ceiling to floor. And by having all these options make it
really easy to design curtains that fit your space and style exactly what you need while bringing
quality for its durability, long-lasting material, dust prevention, noise reduction and breathable
organic fabric which is great for the summer and warmer months. I love they give us total privacy
but still allow plenty of light to come in. I will leave my two pages link for you to check them out
along with a special discount code for 22% off if you decide to give your home this beautiful
upgrade. And thank you so much to Two Pages for sponsoring this upgrade in today's video.
Something I also wanted to quickly share is this very helpful drapery glide tape I found in Amazon
which allows the curtain strings to slide easily, smoothly and quietly along the rod. I found myself
dealing with the drapes catching on the bar joint expansions and I thought might be helpful for
someone else too. The next update I wanted to make was swapping out the chandelier. For this space I
really was envisioning pronounced curves, beautiful silhouettes and having a bold rectangle
dining table. I wanted something sexy above that breaks the acute angles and rectangles in this
area so I went for a French style chandelier to achieve that vision and I wanted a satin gold
finish to bring in that charming and elegant look. I wanted something similar to the Lucca
iron chandelier from Pottery Barn and I found this very very similar one from Birch Lane.
This is very affordable and looks really beautiful. My husband did install the chandelier and I added
the chandelier base light bulbs. I chose a neutral bright white ones that I ordered from Wafer
which really help brighten the space very much. I love the flowing curves of the arms which not
only create a very graceful and sculptural silhouette above the table but also give it that
classic French inspired look that feels timeless and sophisticated and more my style. And the next
thing I wanted to change of course is this area rack. I added this area rack two years ago and I
ordered the front wafer. It's a Loloil woven rack and it's actually an indoor and outdoor area rack
but the plain neutral color it's no longer what I have in mind for this space since I'm going to be
adding lighter upholstered dining chairs I wanted something to ground the space and stand out
instead of just blending in. But before adding the new area rack I wanted to quickly show you
a little bit of how I refinished this dining table. I used this wooden primer that's actually
made with real wood fibers so once it dries it really feels like wood. I first discovered this
product while scrolling on Instagram two years ago and since I didn't want to go through the
whole sanding process or deal with that kind of mess inside the house I decided to try it again
for this project. I had to apply the primer first and then the stain. I'm not going to lie it was
still a pretty long process it took me about a week to finish but it was definitely much easier
than sanding the entire table. I did two coats of wood primer and then I did continue with the
stay in a barn wood tone and let me know if you are interested in watching the full process of
how I refinished this table using these products guys or if you need more information. This is the
second time I refinished this table I wanted a lighter wood tone just on the table top the first time
I know that's me when I have something in mind there's nothing can stop me so I just did it
but after installing the gold chandelier and now when I was planning to bring in dining chairs with
a lighter upholstery fabric I realized the overall look would start to clash to my eyes so I decided
to invert colors and refinish the table again this time going with a medium brown tone to bring
in more warmth and create a softer contrast for this space. Our table is also extendable so we
have an extra piece we can attach when needed so I followed the same process on that additional
piece as well to make sure it will match with the rest of the table. For this new look update I
also wanted a smoother wood finish instead of the rustic graining I had before my goal was to
achieve a more subtle wood appearance something that still adds texture but doesn't feel too busy
or overpowering and when the stain was fully dried I did finish applying the water-based top coat
by far my favorite top coat I have ever used super durable and scratch resistant after using
for two years my tabletop was impeccable and I did a total of two coats and this is how our
new table looks fully dried I love the new color and the softer finish. I had to get this table
back to normal we don't use the additional part because it will take up too much space once
extended is very long but we use it when we have family coming over for the thanksgiving or christmas
holidays but being just four of us most of the time we just need the standard table for our daily
meals and now it's finally my favorite time to start styling this area around the table I wanted
to try two other racks in this space that I saw a lot of potential and the first rack I brought
is this loloi one from the newer haywood collection I ordered it from amazon and it's
also available on wafer I chose the natural bark color which has a beautiful green base with earthy
tones it also has dark and light browns along with subtle hints of a beautiful mossy moody green
which I absolutely love however thinking about the other pieces I'll be adding to this space
I realized it's actually quite light in color since I'm bringing in lighter upholstered dining
chairs I felt like the rack might end up blending in a little too much instead of helping ground
the room that said I do really love this area it's super soft and very comfortable to walk on
it's so cozy that I would love it for my living room it has that cozy feeling that I personally
enjoy more in a relaxed space like the living room rather than in a dining area now the second
rack I brought in is a fairly recent one it's a loloi amber louis from the molly collection
in the gold blue color and it was launched last year for fall as soon as I unrolled it I knew
this was the one I even turned the darker side facing toward the living room because I love the
depth it added it has the most beautiful mix of browns in different variations lots of warm
ranging from soft blues to turquoise and mossy greens it brings in earthy colors while still
keeping the space feeling light and airy the color mix is perfect for spring summer or fall
it's one of those racks that can transition beautifully through the seasons now one thing
I have to say is that it's not soft it's actually a bit rough and very thin and not plush at all
but that's exactly what makes it perfect for a dining area because it's flat it's much more
practical for high traffic spaces this isn't the type of rack I will use in my living room where
I want something more soft and cozy underfoot but it's absolutely beautiful and ideal for a
dining room kitchen entryway runner or any other space that gets a lot of traffic now I can bring
the table back to its original position and I love how the rack complements the table with its
different brown tones it really pulls off the colors in the space together and helps ground
the whole room and now it's time to complement the space with the dining chairs these are
linen upholstered dining chairs featuring a beautiful arched back that's anchored with
solid wood detailing I really love how the curved silhouettes soften the overall look and helps
break up the strong rectangular shape of the dining table the fabric color is described as
beige but to be honest it links more to a soft grayish beige in my opinion they do look a little
lighter on camera but they are still very beautiful and neutral another detail I love
is the warm walnut wood accent which brings a really nice contrast to the upholstery and adds
a bold yet elegant touch to the space I got them from wafer but I'll be leaving the link from both
amazon and wafer in my description box they have the same exact chairs and I do really love them
I've always wanted to add upholstered accent chairs to this space I was going for a more
classic french inspired look but for a long time I hesitated because of stains and spills
especially with little kids around now that my kids are a bit older I feel much more confident
bringing upholstered chairs into our dining area I found this on wafer and one of the things I
really appreciated is that they are stain resistant which is such an important feature for dining
chairs the fabric is linen but it's very thick and feels suitable and well made they also have
casters which roll very smoothly and make them easy to move around the table I wanted to style
one of the chairs for a cozy and lifting look and I layered this thick woven throw blanket and
that floral throw pillow that is from amazon and I love the neutral floral pattern I'm moving on
to the table to style it and I'm bringing in that paper mache vase and I love the rustic but
organic look of it and I'm filling it with this beautiful faux dried beanies these beanies are
so gorgeous they have a lot of movement and look very realistic they will bring that soft and
romantic look for spring with the soft muted pink and cream colors I just arranged it and added
a few more flowers for an abundant look until I was happy with the look
and next I'm bringing in my marble bowl and adding a few faux artichokes to give the table
a simple spring touch I picked up these artichokes a while back but I wanted to complement to the
romantic look bringing in this metal candle holder from the studio magie that I got from target
to keep things safe I'm adding a flameless candle made of real wax that I can control with remote
and next right behind the table there's an empty wall I really wanted to style with something I
love and I remembered I had this beautiful framed artwork I got from etsy last year and it has the
perfect mix of moody earthy and cream colors to complement this dining space setting I didn't
want to make holes in the wall since I'm always changing things around so I used 3m double-sided
strips instead and they work perfectly to hold this wall art in place and are damaged free
I also wanted to style this back side of the sofa that faces the dining area I've moved the old
woven bench I used to have it here it was taking quite a space and this bench is skinny which I
actually like it even more to style it I added this checkered taupe and cream throw blanket that
I picked up from walmart two years back and I wanted to add an organic woven texture I got a
few of these seagrass woven baskets from H&M and they are a medium size and I love I can use them
right under the bench to storage things but for now I wanted to give it a little spring
touch by styling it with faux florals I added this real touch snowball hydrangeas that I found
on etsy a while back and I think this will be a beautiful look for spring and even into summer
and this is the complete look and result of our dining room makeover and refresh I'm really happy
with how this space turned out it feels so much brighter more elegant and much closer to the style
I always envisioned for this area of our home I love how all the elements came together from
the new curtains and chandelier to the rug and the dining chairs everything feels more cohesive
warm and inviting I hope this video gave you some inspiration if you are planning to refresh your
