Elizabeth and Brice are bringing home their new baby Leighton! Between making bottles, changing diapers, and rocking her to sleep, the whole family pitches in to help the new parents survive the sleepless newborn stage!
Layden is absolutely perfect. Like she is like a little puppy doll. She is like a little baby
doll. And we don't say she's absolutely perfect just because she's our grandbaby. But when you
look at her and you just check her out and look at her facial features and you look at her little
hands and feet and her arms and legs. And even like her ears. And her ears. Everything's so
perfect. She's just precious. She's perfect. She did so good.
We are officially lolly and bopping out. We are super happy. I know Elizabeth and
Bryce are even more happy. We're gonna go through the front door.
I'm feeling pretty okay. It's just really the tenderness of the incision. But
that is definitely taken over by the joy that we have of having Layden in our arms.

We are pretty tired from the last couple of days of us being in the hospital.
You don't really get any good sleep. Our time was definitely just devoted to Layden.
Holding Layden for the first time, it was definitely a great feeling. Like I really
wanted to cry. I mean it was just life-changing. Bryce was the only one that spent the night with
me at the hospital. But my parents and younger siblings did stay in a hotel close by. So that
way they could come and visit on the days that we were in the hospital. She's stretching.
Seeing Bryce as a dad, I mean he was great with her in the hospital because he's so worried. He's
like I'm not gonna know what to do. I'm like it's like an instinct that kicks in. I'm like I don't
know how else to explain it to you because this is my first time too. I mean he's been doing great.
Just seeing her with that baby, I'm just like gosh she is the greatest mom in the world.
Makes you want to have another one. Not right now.
Little people, dwarves, sometimes struggle holding dwarf babies because their heads are so large and
honestly it takes up a lot of space right here. But little people holding every size baby like
our grandbaby right now is very simple and very easy and it works.
When I first saw Leighton, I thought she was like the cutest baby I've ever seen.
I was definitely nervous when I first started holding Leighton but I mean the longer I held
her like more comfortable I got and yeah she was just the sweetest baby ever.
I've been helping Liz with like making the bottle and warming it up and giving it to Elizabeth so
she can feed Leighton. I'm so happy that I'm an aunt. Liz and Bryce did a great job.
Even though we are finally home and we have our happy and healthy baby girl, we still have a long
road ahead of us. With her not having a set sleep schedule yet, it's going to be a little rough but
we will push through and power through it all.
Girls, get it out girl. Yep, we're spitting up.
Leighton is a couple weeks old and we were establishing a fantastic routine with her
let things change with babies day by day. For almost a week now, Leighton has had a lot of
reflux going on and we went from four hour sleeps to 45 minutes, 30 minutes, lucky if it's an hour.
She'll go to sleep for like an hour or two, wake back up, then we'll you know feed her,
change her, talk to her and then put her back to sleep. She'll sleep another couple hours.
Of course you know I'll get up and help when I can but a lot of times I'm like
I'm like so into my sleep that. You would have to shake him to like stay awake you're holding her
do not fall asleep with her in your arms. Yeah, I would say just the toughest thing is really just
the sleep part. Hey, oh she just burped. Oh no, we're spitting up. She just spit up all over me.
Where's her little cloth at? Somewhere. Oh it's on your shoulder.
So how many hours is where you at for the night this past week Liz? It's here the past couple of
nights. I know. I'm always so like. He's a grouch if he doesn't get his sleep and he's a turd when
you wake him up in the middle of the night. We're not, we're not gonna, we ain't gonna sugarcoat it.
Oh good job. You heard that?
Here we are a family of nine. No, because Bryce is pretty much here all the time now. Yeah. Plus
the baby. There was a moment when we weren't quite empty nesters but we were mom and dad
and Alex and Emma. We even had our own little text group called the fab four. That was sick.
Yeah. That was a rocket that somebody lit quick and it took off. She's like party in my crib tonight.
Oh I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm not doing a good job. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
You want to try to hold her dad? Yeah um do I need to put her on my shoulder or hold her this way?
Up, just make sure her head's up. I'm not really nervous about holding her now like I was before
she was born. I mean yeah I've gotten a lot more comfortable holding her. Don't get your feelings
hurt she will get used to you. She definitely fusses a lot more with me than um she does with
um her mom. I don't know what it is maybe it's just the way I'm holding her but she seems to
be doing a lot better with her mom because she really does love her mama. Girl why can't you do
that with me? Because you're their dad. Is it because I'm too big? Am I ugly? No it's just how
babies are. They like their mom more. So of course she'll be close to her mom now but maybe she'll be
closer to me later on down the road. So the things I'm looking forward to uh when Layton grows up
I'm looking forward to taking her hunting and fishing you know the things that I love. I know
you're over it. I'm over it. We all are. This evening Elizabeth and Bryce are in town you know
have a celebratory dinner for Elizabeth's 22nd birthday. We're lolly and boppa yeah lolly and
boppa sitting. Jessie do we have a baby in the house? Do you think it's easier to hold her or
one of our kids? Hold her but in a few months. We don't have no lap. Yeah in a few months it'll be
harder because she'll be super long. There is a difference between an average-sized baby versus
a little person baby. You do the same thing you just do them in a different way. Like I can take
Layton because my fingers can hold the back of her head but I can go under her like armpit area
and pick her up like that. You can't do that with a little person baby. You literally have one whole
hand under the head and then another one on the bottom and that's all. Liz likes to sit on the
chair or on the couch. Yeah. When she does then her legs are on Elizabeth's thigh. Yeah and that's
fine but for me it helps like the lower back my lower back to have my feet on the floor. Keeps
pressure off your spine. Yeah like I can sit here a lot longer. Is that you or her? Her. Wow what's the green
thing in here to keep oh oh. What are you doing? I didn't do I just picked it up to move it.
Oh man that's ratchet. What does formula smell like? The formula is like eating dog food out of a crack.
I like shot took a shot of it in it. Oh my god. That was pretty disgusting. I have it ready.
Okay. Sleepy time book? I think we're good. Oh she's awake. He's awake. Hi I wish we could see
your fingers more. You can but she claws up her face. Hey there now you're awake. Oh we're peeing.
Oh great. This is why Lolly's better than Boppa. Yes. Hey if I get over there you won't see me.
Okay. You have to be happy when your mama and daddy come home.
Yes. There were several moments this evening that I was very helpful. Yeah there was.
I ran across this house more tonight than I have in the last two years.
Will you go get me a pacifier? Yes.
I don't know if she's gonna take it. There's about a quarter of an ounce of milk left in
that bottle. Will you go get it? And Jessie's the whole time sitting there going. He's like I haven't
seen dad move this much in like you said two years. You handled it. All for Layton and Amber.
Layton and Lolly. All right are y'all gonna handle it? Yes you can. I'm only 10 minutes away.
You got it. It'll be fine. You'll be okay. So Ana and Emma are babysitting Layton for me for the first
time while I go out and you know get my hair done. All right remember don't spook her. Yeah.
Not a lot of loud noises. One of the best. Sudden noises. The best pants. I hope so. I have noticed
around the house that some people are a little stressed especially Elizabeth and mom so I decided
to babysit Layton just to help out and Emma is going to help with me. Layton look at this little
hand. Is it good? It's milky. Milky good. She doesn't want anymore. You don't want anymore?
Hey hey hey. She might want it. Good girl. I mean of course I know my sisters so obviously I'm not
gonna lie I am a little bit nervous so we'll see how Aunt Ana and Em do with Layton while I'm gone
for the next hour and you know hopefully things will be okay. You ain't so big. Look at that.
She's a little smaller. She's already picking her head up slowly. Yep. Next thing you know you're
gonna be walking. Oh yeah. That's gonna be fun. She's gonna be crazy just like us. Pretty much
just hang out with us and yeah it should it'll just be in you to be crazy. Yeah. You taught me
when I came home. Exactly. Look at her now. The best. There you go. You done? You trying to burp her?
Hold up. I got this. Wait wait wait. Before you spit her on my shoulder.
Just wipe her on my shoulder. There you go. Hey you just spit it off. Hey hey it's okay it's okay.
Hey it's okay. You want more? She needs to be she needs to burp.
Hey.
Give her a pacifier see if that calms her down. I'll definitely feed her because I know she's
probably hungry. If she's like laying down you know pick her up. Also check her diapers if she
has like a wet or poopy diaper. I just turn on the golf channel and she stops every single time.
I think Emma and I make the perfect babysitting duo because Emma knows more about Lane because
she lives at the house and me I've had so much experience with kids since I've worked at a
daycare for like three years in total. So you put it together we're just the best babysitting duo.
There you go. Oh yep there you go. That's what you needed yeah. Let's see our name for our babysitting
duo. Oh you want to claim that? Yeah your favorite color is pink so my favorite word is passion. So
our babysitting duo is pink passion. I don't think that makes it clear enough that it's a babysitting
duo. Oh true. I think you know your clients would have questions off the bat like what's with the
name? Yeah. That just went on top of my head. It's okay. Hey. You want more?
What is that? Oh she burped again.
Do you want to pass it? Hi. Hi. See we did good. Who's that?
So I mean the babysitting the fact that Layton was still alive and breathing and in one piece
and there were no bruises and scratches and nothing concerning to be alarmed about.
I would give them you know a nine out of ten. Oh she might be dying. Oh I didn't give her this.
She loves this too. Ten out of ten is what if I come home to a happy and smiley and
all is well baby. We try our best. Yep you did but nine out of ten is good.
What is a baby? We did not do anything Elizabeth. She's just probably tired or wants more milk.
I think Layton was honestly crying because we were leaving.
Hey Emma remind me to talk to you about breast control.
Layton is turning four months old and that is a huge milestone for us. So in honor of
her turning four months old we are going to let her try solid food for the first time.
And later on in the week Bryce and I are going to celebrate by going on a double date.
Layton has only had formula until today so we have no idea on how this is gonna go.
All right do we have a Pasi and toys on standby? Yes. Pasi, Pasi, Pasi.
Bryce don't worry they're always there. There you go. Crap I don't see one right here.
Hold on I don't see one over there. Has there ever been a moment where one of you has like
wiped out in a hurry trying to find a pacifier? No I don't think we have. I mean I might one day
I don't know like because no well I probably would if I was wearing socks but since I had
shoes on I had traction so I mean I was able to stay up. We need to get daddy to try cereal.
I think we do. Yeah we need to get daddy. I don't need to. I don't need to either.
I carried her you can have a little. Oh my god it smells brutal. The cereal,
holy crap the smell of it just. But that's where we gotta go. It reeks.
That's where we gotta work on that face not it's nasty. You gotta say it's yummy.
Yeah even if it stinks it smells like butt. I'll try. Yeah you got to. Can we try?
What is she doing? She's spitting it out. Yeah that's normal a lot of it isn't gonna be she's
gonna push it out. It's pretty exciting that she gets to have a chance to try some real food because
that means she's getting older and as she's starting to get bigger
Leighton has rolled from her belly to her back one time so we're catching on with the rolling over.
Hey big girl. Hey what you doing? Laughing. Yeah laughing that's super sweet.
And then talking oh we talk we make lots of noises.
What are you guys doing? Oh oh and now the cameras.
There she goes she knows what to do. But if it was grits I'd eat it. It's grits. No it's not grits.
Some of the stuff that I'm excited to introduce Leighton to is probably just like anything like
Italian probably like spaghetti like alfredo something like that just to show her to see how
she likes it. I can't wait to definitely show her maybe like Chinese food or like sushi. I am very
excited for Leighton to try all the pastas because babies eating pastas are just so cute because half
of it is on their face half of it is on the floor. Some of it isn't right there. Some of it it's in
their mouth. I love fried chicken. I'm sure it's on Leighton a lot too and will probably ask us all
the time to make. No because you're gonna be like Leighton go tell mom to make this. I'm gonna be
like hey Leighton tell your daddy not tonight. Look we're gonna try something else. It can definitely
be hard trying to figure out Bryce and I's relationship in a full household just because
there's 10 pairs of eyes on us. A lot of opinions can be voiced on how Bryce and I do things.
How is it different when it's like you guys care for Leighton?
Um I mean it is you know a slight bit of change you know whenever her family's there too because
they like to do a few things different you know than I do. Some of my opinions um I really don't
say them out because a lot of times they think no that's not right you're wrong. Every now and then
I'm just like gosh I really want to do what I want to do. Yeah you like it. So there's this
pacifier that you can put uh fruits and veggies in. It's a really cool because it's almost like
a teether and so putting the bananas in this pacifier she liked it a lot I think. Yeah.
You like the bananas? You like the bananas?
All right let's take a break. Okay okay. I think with the mixture of tired and hey this is really
not like my normal food that I get she didn't really know what she wanted to do. But I feel
like once you get used to it she'll gulp it down. She's gonna be throwing the spoon at us by then
throwing her food. Go see your mama. Girl it's okay.
