Hi and welcome to this week's film This week it's mandarin fish at Tanto in Stockholm Many people have visited this spot on Södermalm where mandarin oranges are easily spotted This film was shot on March 8 2026 when there were three pairs of mandarin ducks present at the footbridge You can see how people gather around the ducks both mallards and mandarin ducks and how many take the chance to feed them too Mandarin ducks also nest here Mandarin ducks are not naturally occurring birds in Europe rather they originate from parks from which they have escaped Mandarin ducks became a popular garden bird in Europe several hundred years ago particularly in Great Britain And many have moved on to other lakes and locations across Europe where they have settled The true distribution of Mandarin is East Asian It is found in Russia on the Russian island of Sakhalin in northeast China Korea and Japan But they haven't shown any particularly positive development there However since they are present in many other places as well they are still counted A powerful overview
