What a final, and you know what, it was very nice, I was on the webcast watching a 20-year-old
from California and a 17-year-old from Tahiti win the gold medal.
It's a big deal, it's the coming of a new generation and you know, a lot of people say
oh Zap, you know, it's kind of like, oh guys, Zap, you got that wrong, but not at all guys,
a 20-year-old lady from California and a 17-year-old guy from Tahiti win the world championship
and become the gold medalist, best Zap surfers in the world, today here in Nicaragua.
I am over the moon right now, I'm feeling great, it was awesome two years ago to come
and claim the title and that was the first event, I was super stoked about it and last
year I couldn't come back because I was busy with nursing school, but it's been just awesome
to come back.
I was hoping it wouldn't be too much pressure on myself to try to reclaim the title, but
I'm so happy I did and I've been really pushed by the caliber of talent this year and it's
been so awesome, so yeah, thank you.
I'm very happy, it's my first time participating in the ISA world championship and I came in
first, I'm happy, I needed big waves to do my manoeuvres better, to express myself better
And don't go, you're going to go, tomorrow we'll let you relax, but on Thursday we're
back on with the races in Lake Nicaragua, technical relay a long distance, amazing lake
and it's going to be an intense activity over there, so we'll see you for the rest of the
week at the ISA 2014 World Zap and Paddleboard Championship, adios.
