Another metal detecting adventure shot in 4k. Jeff, Rebecca, Autumn and I metal detect a building lot that is soon to be developed. We found evidence of a Civil War battle site AND a Civil War camp. Plus I also check out a spooky hole in the ground! Hold your breath!
About Aquachigger:
I like to make videos that promote my lifestyle of outdoor adventure, metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed. I keep my YouTube "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
All right, so we're gonna have a metal detecting adventure today. I'm here with my dear old friend Jeff.
Known each other forever. Anyway, so we're kind of getting the stuff.
No, we have known each other forever. So we're getting the stuff together to do, we're going to
detect this lot right here. There were Civil War, we found came here before, we found a few bullets.
A lot of trash because it was a house here in the 60s or something. But anyway, Jeff,
old eagle eyes. I can't even see it. Before we even started detecting and found some treasure.
It doesn't matter. All right, let's see what it is, Mr. Jeff. Ah man, so green. That's okay though,
that's okay. So green. Does that mean the house is here? 1972. House was probably here in 72.
All right, let's get at it. It ought to be, it ought to be an exciting day. All right,
we're going to have a little, going to try to solve a little mystery. My friend of mine out
in there is going to build a house here. And she's trying to find out where things are. Do know the
house stood up in here back in as late as the 1970s. But they have this hole in the ground and
they don't know if it's a cistern or a septic tank. And they need to know that for certain reasons.
So what we're going to do is we're going to poke the camera down in there and see
if we can figure it out. Now, if it's a cistern, it'll probably be around underneath,
kind of like home shaped. And the walls of it will be parched, meaning they'll have
like cement all the way around it. If it's a septic tank, an old septic tank,
the walls are probably just like be made out of like cinder blocks and they'll have holes in them
the water can leach out. So what do you say? Want to check it out? I got a little baby
flashlight. I don't have my big one today. Well, I do, but just a small flashlight.
And we're going to stick the camera down in there and see if we can figure it out.
You ready? Yeah, that's pretty, that's pretty bright. All right, let's see what we see from
here. We have a hole, not too big. What I'm seeing, that's like a cinder block. I'm not
seeing any holes where water can leach out. So this may be a small cistern. I'm not sure. And
obviously there'd be a pipe coming up. I'm going to go ahead and put you in there
so you can see all around where I can't see. Ready? Hold your breath, just in case it's a
septic tank. Get some light on the subject for you. And I can't see back there, so I'm not sure
what that looks like. All right, so what do you think it is? I thought it was, might be a cistern
because it looks like, you know, it's pretty watertight, but it's very small. I mean, that
would only hold less than 100 gallons. And if that's all you're going to have, it'd probably
be easier just to get jugs of water out of the river or something. So that could possibly be,
I'm thinking now, it might be the old privy or the old outhouse. I think that's what it is.
Let me know what you think. Cistern that holds 100 gallons, outhouse that holds 100 gallons,
or a septic tank. Let me know in the comments if you would. All right, so here are some of
Jas's finds. He got a big old hinge, which, you know, it's not terribly old. I mean,
it could be 100 years old, but certainly not Civil War era, 1864 and 1865. And a Chevy,
Chevy something, very light aluminum. I suspect that's not terribly old either. All right,
I'm going to start digging. Why are you looking at me like that? No, it's fine. I got something.
Got a fired mini ball. Yeah, look at that. On your own property. Nice, thank you. Yeah,
you can see that, of course, it hits something pretty close because it's really mushed.
That's the base of it right there. So that's pretty sweet, isn't it? Amazing, thank you.
Hopefully, we'll find 100 more, right? Right, that's great. They're over there,
mixed in with about 2,000 other signals. All right. Yeah, it's a lot of cans. I got a bag
full of cans. All right, we have a coin. Look at that. Now, I don't have high hopes for it,
but, oh, maybe it's a button. Oh, lookie, is that a silver coin? Is it? No. All right,
so we're going to go ahead and work on it. Unless it was at least a button. I think it might be
weedy, 100%. Is it? Could be an Indian head. Just scratching my finger. There's a lot of
modern stuff, a nice color to it. That could be an Indian head. Look at that, got an Indian head.
Well, you can't even see it, but if you look on the back, you can kind of see the shields. That's
going to be, you know, it's going to be an older penny. Yeah, one cent. I mean, that could go back
to the Civil War. What we have to do is we have to clean it up off a little bit. Hey, Jeff, got
another bullet. Yeah, look at there. It's a bullet. That is a drop, 100% drop, man. All right,
so Mr. Jeff thinks he has a bullet there, and I dug another one. I believe that's going to be a
three ring mini ball. Sure enough, look at that, baby. Now, if you notice, it doesn't have that
white patina. It's kind of reddish. That's because of the soil here. This particular area we are in
has that type of patina, but yeah, that's another beautiful bullet. Got a little bullet here. I
believe it's going to be a pistol bullet, maybe Colt pistol bullet, 44. Yeah, I think troll train.
You hear it? Most excellent, man. This place is loaded, Jeff. All right, we got another one.
Looks like a sharps. That is a drop sharps. Boy, we're finding quite a variety of bullets here.
All in this little area so far. I think we're going to get belt buckles and gold coins in a
minute. That's what the thing is. Last fall, we came here and kind of walked over this area.
Sorry, didn't find any. I mean, we found a few, but on a different part of the property. Do you see it?
Oh, yeah. All right, we got another one. That's a different kind even than the...
I'm finding a lot of different kinds of bullets in between, besides just like pistol and
carbine and rifle bullets, but a lot of different sizes. That's pretty awesome.
I think this could be like a little coin purse type thing or
kind of looks like it's got a little bend on it. That's probably what it is.
Yeah, there you go. Coins are out there. What do you think?
I think that's probably, well, yeah, who knows? All right, looks like we have another little coin
there. Now, Jeff dug a modern dime here just a few minutes ago. Let's see if this is better. Ready?
What is it? Are you sure? No, it's not a dime, so I don't feel bad rubbing it a little bit.
No, it's a modern penny. Yeah, so yeah, it's a modern penny.
So I think I just found a Civil War AM FM radio set. Well, not set, but
a little doodad that goes over it. But of course, I think most of you know this is not Civil War era.
That's probably, well, 1950s or 60s, I reckon. So this isn't the most interesting thing in the
world, but I thought I'd show it to you because you guys might find these on occasion. This is
kind of a copper alloy of some sort. You notice it's a round disc there and it comes up and hooks
over. This is actually off of a boot. That's where the shoelaces would tighten up right there. You
modern hiking boots have these. This would go right here like that, so you can lace them up
really quick. You got yourself a bullet? Oh my gosh. May I look at it? Go for it.
Yeah, that's a beauty. It's actually a wheat penny. I cannot see a date, but I'll try to
clean it up at home and we'll get you a picture. I bet that sounded like a shell, didn't it? Look
at this. Man, that's probably, that's a shell signal right there. Yeah. Still got your bag on
you? Yeah, all right. All right, it's been a while, but I think we have another bullet.
Yeah, look at that. That's another drop sharps. Boy, it looks almost like it's got an extra ring.
Be cool. That's a little different. I'm not 100% on that one.
All right, so we have a little treasury here. I think it's going to be like a brooch or something
like that. When you claim to fame, Jeff. No, it's some type of a jewelry type thing. She's
got the thing on the back. It's going to be some type of design there. Probably 30s, 40s.
Oh man, I like it. Good junk. Let's clean off just a little bit.
Look at that. It doesn't look very pretty, but something though, right? What do you think?
Had enough? Yep. All worn out. Me too. You? But you know, it was a beautiful day, wasn't it?
Yeah, I know. Like I'm sweating. But it was fun. We have found a bunch of little things
and I hope you enjoyed the video and we will get back out here again
when they start pushing dirt. There's going to be belt buckles and cannonballs and muskets.
They're going to be rolling out of here. It's going to be awesome. Hope you join us then.
