Tai Chi Spirit (Documentary)
Many people think Tai Chi is only for older people, but this is a misunderstanding. Tai Chi is a practice that requires patience, discipline, and dedication, something that can be challenging in today’s fast-paced world.
In this documentary, we explore the deeper meaning of Tai Chi and traditional Chinese martial arts. Unlike typical workouts where results come quickly, Tai Chi develops gradually through consistent practice, repetition, and understanding.
Tai Chi training is often described in three levels:
• Jin – physical strength and technique
• Qi – internal energy and breath coordination
• Shen – spirit, awareness, and deeper understanding
Students must progress step by step, building a strong foundation before reaching higher levels of mastery.
Follow members of the Oregon Tai Chi Wushu Team as they travel with their teacher, JianFeng Chen, to China in search of the deeper meaning behind a thousand-year-old art form: Tai Chi. Along the journey, students experience intense training, cultural exchange, discipline, and personal growth while immersing themselves in the roots of Chinese martial arts.
From beginners to advanced practitioners, Tai Chi offers benefits for health, balance, mental focus, and lifelong learning.
