Oh no sorry
Um I can't
I'm confused and upset bu
Thanks to what’s truly made you so double
of mine all the silence is just your strategy
because it makes you so
double of mine—we never
talked about it felt better to wreck this house
Nature in a shapeless basement
Since I'm moving out I'm just the bitch you hate now
We never talked it through
But you guilt-tripped me too
You're down like a needle that’s been found
I'm filled with doubt second-guessing everything
Another year of wondering
Whether that was just casual and I'm the fool
Searching for meaning between the lines
Remind yourself—if you think we're
fine you're mistaken and I'm hurt
We never discussed it
She doesn’t resemble me in the slightest
Can’t really tell just push it aside
Try to see it as a compliment
It’s kind of feeling the opposite
Well she doesn’t look anything like me
So why do you look so happy
Well now I think
again—because you were hoping I was the
******* opposite and I know
Even if I try to change it it's
nowhere to be found—no matter how hard
I try
it's gone You said you
knew about it we showed
up with a boombox and
stars were in your eyes
Can't believe it could be so reckless—we bonded over black-eyed
peas and complicated
yesterdays fell so
deep but you knew it was
all so innocent and
now I'm a homewrecker
I'm a slut tell me
who I am '
cause I 'll
ruin your time I
'm a rebel get it
Tell me who I
am because I'm a fool
Everything's falling apart
but I'll hold you close
And I'll be right here—it's not an illusion just two kids
living through it You
said I'm too late
to be your first love
but I'll always be here for you baby
Now I'm the one breaking up families don't
leave me like this I've
received death threats
I'm trapped and playing the villain tell me
who I really am because
I don't have a choice
All because I liked a boy
It's the perfect
night to scream What's your costume
I didn't catch that
Thanks for joining us for a short and spooky night ahead
If they were in the ticket queue and just
didn’t realize it was Halloween do they
think this is the
weirdest show ever Maybe
you do maybe you don’
t—maybe it’s the best
Perhaps it's better than all
the others but to me it's
Because we get to be utterly silly
for just one night—except
that one night happens to be at Madison Square Garden which is utterly surreal
Just for some extra info you didn’t ask
for you sold out five nights here which
is pretty incredible in my book—I mean
this was my first venue in New York
It was probably around 300 people
It was the Highline Ballroom
And I was about 16 and I just can't
even wrap my head around the number
of shows I've come to here or the
number of places I've been checking out
That I've sat and watched shows and
just been like Damn
I wanna be up there
—and now I get to
and we're all singing
It's crazy out in New York right now
I truly commend you for
stepping outside the house for
dancing and for dressing up—
thank you so
much for all of it
I’ve become somewhat of a
semi-New Yorker—I’m originally
an East Coaster but I moved to New York four years ago
It's four years late but I
think I'll take it—I moved
here to write an album
called Emails I Can't Send
I'll be honest—when I
wrote that I was nothing
like the person I am
today it was a completely
different time in my
life a different mindset not
a happy place at all and I was just like—
Writing from a place of connection—you know
it's the cliché you come
to New York to figure
things out and I want
to thank you New York
for being the answer to so many of my questions
So much of my emotion
—so deeply bottled
up for so long—I feel
completely safe when
I write in New York
and I feel like some of my favorite songs I’ve ever written…
I’ve come from New York so thank you for being that place for me
Don't tell the other cities I
said that though
—cause
they'll be mad Just kidding you can tell them It's already
on the internet
I'm so grateful to you
all but you're being
so loud tonight—I'm actually pretty curious
Alright on this side— do you want
to try being
Second I rested my head on
your chest
She knew she had
achieved her true success
She's back in your life now she's in
the same damn city
on the same damn line
Sing
Oh there's a game here
Want to give it a try
Let me explain—we basically created this
game at the start of
the Short & Sweet Tour
because I wanted to
mix things up a little
bit every night so we play Spin the Bottle
But whatever number it lands
on is the song we'll sing
that evening though it's
a bit sporadic—wanna give it a try
Alright
Drum roll
I'm starting to
think this show isn't
scary at all—it's
actually just a delight
But I know how to get us back to business
right now
I have a question for the audience
It's my favorite
part because you
all look at me
and just act like
And that's perfectly fair
because I said I had a question
then I didn't ask it but you
know what Now I'
m going to say it
Raise your hand if you
live on Pretty Girl Avenue
Say it J
I'm speaking clearly right
