Jessica Pegula vs Belinda Bencic 2026 Indian Wells Round of 16 WTA Match Highlights

Bencic so close to the net that made that a little bit easier, more difficult for Bencic. On the other hand, Bencic is just so experienced as well. Forehand from... A nice point just out of the reach of Bencic. Is that Bencic backhand working so well? Bencic has not just yet. Jasper Gula takes the opening set on her fourth set point. She had never won a set against Belinda Bencic in four previous encounters. She's off to a good start here. Halfway home to the quarterfinals, 6-3. First set in three games. She should be happier with that. That's good. Oh, what a shot from Jessica Gula. Line licker there. Point chances to even this up. And she does just that with a forehand winner down the line. Beautiful touch. Smart tennis. Again, smart from Bencic that time. And on her third match point, Jessica Pagula gets it done. Matches her best showing at Indian Wells. And a nice exchange by the two players. Smiles as they walk off the court. Jessica Pagula had never defeated Belinda Bencic in four previous meetings. Had never won a set against her. But on home soil, she does it at Indian Wells. She is into the quarterfinals. Her fourth tournament of the year she's been in the quarterfinals. She's played for 6-3, 7-6. She's through.
