The first Indian film to have won a BAFTA Award
If you're comparing it to the British film industry you could even call it an Oscar
And Buong is not some Bollywood-Tollywood-style movie
In fact it is a Manipuri-language film
The film had already been selected for festivals in 2024
And now it has been released in theaters
I've already seen it
The only show in the entire Nagpur was this one
And I wanted to see it for myself
If you don't know the characters everything in the film will feel fresh and new
Its story its characters all new faces
Thanks to that it becomes even more of a hit
And after many long days
I can't even remember when I last watched that movie you rated
And this is a U-rated movie
These days everything's coming out as UA13 UA16 16+ or A-rated
It has its own unique style standing out on its own like a distinctive movie
With You Rating
That's unrestricted or universal meaning for all ages
Now regarding its storyline a young child lives with his mother
But Dad's been away for years and hasn't come back literally in decades
His phone isn't responding and there's no way to reach him at all
The reason they have had to hear and see so much in society
In such a situation the little child whose nickname is Booong
He sets out to find his father
And now he can't bring them back from the abyss
No extra drama no glamour no songs no more dramatic scenes no more nonsense
Just a simple story with terrific acting performances by each and every actor
Specializing in child actors that's her niche
Who would guess this child is the brother's kid just by looking No it's clearly his own child
But Dwayne is the only one who actually acted in this movie—brothers big-name actors should be embarrassed watching him
It's only about an hour and a half brief yet intense sweet yet fleeting—starts so beautifully ends so abruptly you don't even realize it's over
But it will surely leave a lasting impression on your heart and mind
This is not just the story of a naive child but also portrays a mother’s struggle and her strength
Even after getting married she's still raising her child single-handedly like a single mother
Actually the climax of this film is very well written—I was right on my prediction
This climax is presented from the child's perspective—when he finally finds his father in Manipur only to be killed by him
You know if you don't like it just let me know—my style is so inherently humorous that you never even realize when it suddenly turns into an emotional drama
And I don’t just want to review this award-winning film—I want to urge everyone to go see it support it and champion such regional cinema so that we can continue to experience more stories like this
Yes this is extremely rare and the film itself is also very rare—go watch it and if you've seen it definitely comment and let us know what you thought See you in the next video
