Welcome to Sunnyvale, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, where a beautiful mid-century Eichler home has been transformed for modern living. Known as the Twin Gable House, this home was originally designed in 1962 by architects A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Emmons.
The renovation keeps the home’s iconic mid-century character while making it more open, comfortable, and energy-efficient for a modern family. At the center of the house is a signature open-air atrium that fills the space with natural light and connects the indoors with nature.
The designers removed several walls and added large glass doors to create a seamless flow between the living spaces, backyard garden, and a new swimming pool. Almost every room now opens to lush greenery, strengthening the connection to the outdoors.
Inside, old features were replaced with a clean and timeless look, including porcelain tile floors, warm white oak cabinets, and elegant Carrara marble in the kitchen. The original wood ceilings and beams were also carefully restored.
With 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open living area within its 2,200-square-foot layout, the Twin Gable House is a perfect example of how a classic mid-century home can be beautifully updated for modern family life.
