Pauline and I are in Dresden today
one of the most beautiful and
famous cities in Germany and you
've never been here That's true
I'm here for the very first time today and we'd like to ask the locals
what they're planning to do today and what absolutely must we see in Dresden
Here we go
What do you have planned for today
I've been invited for coffee at a neighbor's place today
That's nice You're looking forward to it
Yes of course
What do you have planned for today
I actually have the day off today
That means I just finished a tattoo appointment at the
studio and am now enjoying the sunshine
Can we see the result already
We can try
Wow that's huge You did all of
this today Yes it took about two
and a half to three hours What
do you have planned for today
I'd like to take a little walk in the heath
enjoying the lovely weather with a small iced coffee
Just kick back and relax for a bit
I'm off to babysit now take the kid out into the sun and we'll see how it goes
How we'returning to Stuttgart
We're going back to Stuttgart that's right
And we're picking up something from Kleinanzeigen as well
Well what's up What are you buying
Flower stands made from bicycle rims
Mostly just playing Cabo
What's that
Also a card game
Yes exactly
Definitely enjoy the sun
And eat a whole lot more
We haven't eaten
much yet Yes
Sounds like a good life
Yes it is
What do you have planned for today
Well I need to find a birthday gift there
Who is the birthday gift for
A friend
And do you have any idea what you'd like to buy
Yes yes What
is it
I'd like a cake plate
A cake plate Excellent
What else do I have planned for today We're here with an entire school class
Also there are about 25 students from Germany and around
25 students from Spain and we 'll
meet at the Culture Palace
and compare the tasks
And then I'm at my niece's birthday party
What do you have planned for today
Take care of the baby
Go for a walk
Run a few errands
We’re having visitors today
Who’s coming
My brother
Look at the child so to speak
Ah the brother hasn't seen the child yet
I'd like to
I have a band rehearsal and then I have to go there and practice
Let me guess you're a guitarist
Also but not today
Today you're a singer No
not even that
Bassist
Yeah that's boring
Um I'm working today
I'm on my lunch break right now and enjoying the lovely warm weather and sunshine today
What are you doing
I'm training to become a hairdresser
That's why you have such a cool fashion cut
Probably yes
I need to clear out my apartment because I'm moving
Ah is that good or bad
Oh mixed feelings
I think I'm really looking forward to it but it's a bit stressful
Are you getting help from your friends
Definitely It's more that I also need to say goodbye here and wrap up a bit of my life here
and then move to Vienna which I'm really looking forward to
It's also a beautiful city
Yes definitely What
do you have planned for today
I'd like to visit the Frauenkirche and I'd definitely go try some Eierschäcke
What is Eierschäcke
The Eierschäcke is essentially Dresden's take on cheesecake
That sounds incredibly delicious
Have you ever tried it
I haven't yet but I really hope I can try it soon
We're actually done
We were just out for a walk
We might
have dinner together and then usually watch a video or something
in the evening Maybe we’ll do yoga together That’s not true at all
I just finished my last exam today and we're heading out with friends to Neustadt to grab a
drink Oh that's really cool Where are you going
Some bar
We're not entirely sure where
yet Yes definitely somewhere over in the New Town
And what have you done today
I was working at Café Ostwalz on the Bautzener Straße
Do they pay you for tormenting them
No they pay me well but not for that
We were also at the Zentrumgalerie right on Prager Straße
I wandered around the clothing stores a bit looked around and picked up a few small things
Then as I said had coffee at the
Altmarkt Gallery Found a lovely charming little grandma-style
coffee Seriously I'm not kidding
And yes now let's see what else today has in store
What did you buy
I bought a T-shirt for myself and gave him the sweater he was wearing
I was at school today and
That's all
I was at school today and I need to study for exams right away So
I’m going to sit in a quiet park to focus
What exam is coming up
I'm currently studying to become a childcare worker and taking the related certification exams
And what have you done today
Slept Well I just got up
For the record it is now 3:00 PM
Yes I picked someone up from work
And yes I still ended up sleeping
What have you done today already
Not much yet
I only had breakfast today had a coffee and was
awake for a long time yesterday That's why yes
You have quite a nice life like this
Yes I'm just doing art right now and I'm really enjoying it
Right now I don't have to work at all
so I can make a lot of music
That's why I spent the whole day yesterday making music all the way into the late night
We walked from the Frauenkirche to the Blaues Wunder
That's about twelve kilometers there and back
Not bad
Yes that's exactly why as I said it was the first time this year
that were out for so long And what
about the Blue Wonder—what's that
This is a bridge here in Dresden and it's painted blue
Pauline what do you have planned for today

Alright you're both no longer from Dresden
but could you possibly give me any other tips
What exactly am I absolutely supposed
to see here Must see at all costs
The Frauenkirche for sure
And the Dresden Zwinger if you're heading toward Dresden signs
Are these actually worthwhile points to consider ones that
are also rooted in history After
all this is the state capital
Once the residence of the Elector of Dresden
So it is undoubtedly both historically significant and visually impressive
Absolutely worthwhile I enjoy it immensely I love going to the
opera which is why the Semperoper and
everything else about it are so special
The old town and the entire area around the Semper Opera
And this is a Zwinger simply beautiful
But here it's only a part just a small part
I was here last year
Back then I was at the Zwinger
That's where the mathematical-physical salon is located
I'm interested in what connects mathematics and physics
And that was indeed a fairly long time ago
I was also in the Gemäldegalerie in the
Zwinger Yes I'm here for the first time today
Can you recommend something else besides the Frauenkirche Any
other suggestions How about a
walk along the Elbe River bike path
You can clearly see the skyline stretching from Pieschen onward
Yes you can walk all the way to the Blaues Wunder
It just takes about two hours
But you always have a lovely view and
especially in such pleasant weather You absolutely should go to
the Great Garden in such fine weather
It's a lovely park
You can sit there
There might even be an ice cream or a cappuccino somewhere already
Or you could just sit down on the bench however you feel like
I'd recommend that yes
I find the Bühlers terraces absolutely beautiful
We're right on it quite close now
What's that
The Bühlers Terraces
This is the former fortress grounds which was filled in
Now you can walk along the top and enjoy a splendid view
across to the old town
Of course the castle is definitely worth a visit
then cross over the historic Augustus Bridge into the New Town
and right into the Baroque Quarter
Honestly I think Neustadt is absolutely beautiful here
This neighborhood
I live unfortunately in the Old Town
At first I thought Dresden didn't
offer much in terms of architecture
But since I first visited Neustadt I 've
also come to know the other side
Oh I actually think the Neustadt is already a real hidden gem
I absolutely love it
I live here myself practically right above it
I moved here myself just half a year ago
But I also have family who live here
And I have to say I truly love the New Town
especially all the little cafés and shops
Even I haven't been able to discover everything here yet
Do you have any tips
What's worth seeing here in Dresden's Neustadt
Definitely lots of cool people you know interesting individuals
I also love the park here
We wanted to play some cards unwind a bit listen
to some music and browse through secondhand shops
And were already at the organic market
That's our thing here
I would recommend
anging out in smoking lounges starting to smoke and
drinking heavily then crashing at random parties
and meeting new people
That's exactly what Dresden does best—having a vibrant subculture
The standard responses are always Altstadt and Neustadt
And personally I think Heide
is nice So
Heide or heading out into nature via Priesnitz What exactly is Heide
Heide is ultimately just a large wooded area Well it's not
quite accurate behind Dresden but it is behind Neustadt
where you can do plenty of sports from cycling and jogging
to walking whether with family or with young children around
It's extensively used in that regard
Just a lot of green space and room perfect for a big city
Are you from Dresden
No we're from Berlin
Oh really Oh you must have come by car right
We came by train
Ah with the train I’d have something But I don’t have a
car myself anymore not
that I’d want to go to the Saxon Switzerland
But the Saxon Switzerland region itself is also accessible
So if you're arriving by train
you can actually take the S-Bahn right into Saxon Switzerland
Quarter of an hour to Rathen
So that's worth seeing too I think
Assuming good weather which I'm guessing is the case
Have you ever been to Hellerberg No what's that
If you just take the train a
few stops further down here
It's practically an old pile of rubble
leftover from the ruins of World War II
And there more or less grass grew over it
And now you can relax beautifully there
It offers a fantastic view of Dresden
A great many people with picnic blankets dogs families and flying kites gather
here And actually this is a really lovely spot
When you feel like getting a little out of
the city I don't know what makes Dresden so special
I mean Dresden stands out
I mean the only thing we might possibly cultivate is the Elbe
And all the elves
we can't really think of anything at all
Also I mean all the tourist attractions
I'd say everyone should try
He must have gone to the large Semper Brewery from Bradeberg's mushroom
Let's do it Thanks Ciao
Pauline you were in the old town How was it
It was really beautiful
I have to be honest Dresden is a breathtakingly lovely city
I'm really excited about the architecture and the people
And I'm excited too
Chris and I were in Neustadt
This has a completely different vibe compared to the old town
So I'd say we can recommend Dresden
And now we'd like to hear from you in the comments
Have you ever been to Dresden
