This right here is a Rolex Mariner coming in at about £9,500 and this right here is a Casio
coming in at below £90. And in today's video, what we're going to be doing is showing you the
best affordable watches, like I did just there, that look super expensive. Firstly, let's begin
here. These are the brand new Seiko Prospex Youngtimers and they look so trendy, so premium,
and also they're pretty affordable. They come in a couple of different dial colours. You've got
pale pink, you've got mint green and you've also got monochrome. I think the monochrome, to me,
shouts luxury. It looks the most expensive. So for the purposes of this video, let's focus on that.
These motorsport themed chronographs inherit a lot of their design and DNA from the 1960s and
1970s models and they look bloody great. I mean, when you compare this specific one to Rolex Daytona
and then look at the price, seeing as this one comes in at £640, it's pretty incredible.
They come in at 39 millimetres in diameter, which is a brilliant size for most watch enthusiasts,
especially like me, if you have 6.5 inch wrists. They come in at 13.3 millimetres in thickness.
They have a length, or lug to lug, of 45.5 millimetres, come in full stainless steel and
have the solar movement V192. This is accurate to minus 15 to plus 15 seconds per month. That is
not per week, that is per month, which is insane. And it has a power reserve of around about six
months when fully charged. Now it can also be charged through any source of light. So for
example, you're sitting in the living room, your light's on behind you because you're reading a
book, it's still charging. It's not just sunlight. These watches were just super, super fun releases
from Seiko, but they look so damn premium for the price of them. Hence why they've made it
into this video. You know, I've made a couple of these videos in the past, and for this one
specifically, I wanted to make each of these watches different, have a different perspective,
a different angle. And when I looked at Meido, I've heard so many different pronunciations,
I came at it from a different angle. And I found this. This is the brand new Multifort 81 Crown,
and it looks 70s inspired. It looks angular. It looks damn sexy. This watch comes in at 38.4
millimeters in length and 40 millimeters in width. It has sapphire crystal with double-sided
anti-reflective treatment and a thickness of 9.9 millimeters. Now I know that the kickback here
will be that if the sapphire crystal glass is double anti-reflective coated, it will scratch
that a little bit easier. With that said, and you are right in thinking that, I'm not disagreeing,
but with that said, my Seamaster, the King I have on today, is double-sided anti-reflective coating.
I've had it for five years now-ish, maybe six, and I've not got a scratch on it. And I've taken
this on some adventures. It comes in full stainless steel, has a beautiful textured dial. When you
look closely at that dial, it almost looks like a teak kind of dial, and the date window is positioned
nicely at the three o'clock mark. Does this look kind of like an IWC Engineer or Vacheron Constantin
overseas or, you know, the AP Royal Oak, all the 70s inspired stuff? Yeah, but so do they all. I mean,
let's look at the Tito PRX just as an example. They all have the similar feel and look. I think
that this does look and wear extraordinarily premium for the price, and that's why, you know,
I've put it on this list. Now, you do have different colors and variants to choose between,
but if you were to go with the full stainless steel version with the bracelet, it comes in at
And now we get on to Tiso. Tiso is a funny one. When I was looking at Tiso, I wanted to avoid the
PRX and avoid the Gentsman, because that's what everybody talks about. No matter who you are,
where in the world, you always talk about these two models. So I wanted to try and go off that
path a little bit. We've done it. We've seen it. We don't really care anymore. We want to see
something different, something new, and I found that something different. I found that something
new in this. This is the Tiso PRC 100 Solar 39 millimeters. It comes in, as the name suggests,
at 39 millimeters in diameter, 9.22 millimeters in thickness, which is just beautifully thin.
It's water-resistant to up to 100 meters. It has a round case shape and kind of 70s-inspired
flares running through there, but not quite the same as, let's say, the Tiso PRX or the watch that
we just looked at from Meido. It's different enough from the 70s-inspired, but it still carries
the fingerprint. It has a full quartz movement, which is essentially a battery-operated movement,
and there's a ton of different variations that you can choose between here. I would personally
go for the stainless steel with the blue dial. I think that looks more classy. I think that looks
more long-lasting, and these come in at 450 pounds. Now we get on to Baltic. Baltic's a funny
one because it's actually a Scottish word for bloody freezing. When you go outside and it's
raining, normally, you go, it's bloody Baltic outside, and everybody understands what you're
saying, and it's just funny. Anyway, so normally I would go for the AquaScaf, but in the mind of
changing things up and looking a little bit deeper at things, I found this. This is the Baltic HMS
003, and there's a couple of different variations that you can choose. Specifically, just for this
one, I've gone for the silver and blue because I think that looks most classy. This watch definitely
sways more towards the dressy side of things. I mean, to me, it's giving Amiga CK859 vibes apart
from a fraction of the price. So this comes in at 36.5 millimeters in diameter. It has a lug-to-lug
of 46 millimeters and a thickness of 13 millimeters with the glass and 10 millimeters without. So that
basically is telling you that it's got that boxed kind of glass. It's got that raised glass, which
gives it more of a vintage aesthetic. And at the side, from the side angle, you can definitely
see that. It comes in faux stainless steel, has a Miyota 8315 movement with 60 hours of power,
and it's water-resistant to 50 meters. So essentially, don't take it in the water.
Now, this watch comes in at around about €360 or £313.56. That's the conversion there. And when
you do compare it to the CK859, as I said before, it looks bloody brilliant. And it's a fraction of
the price. Now, yes, you're not going to get the same quality, but this video is about watches that
are affordable that look expensive. And this watch just does. It looks expensive. On the note of
expensive watches, we're actually going to be doing a watch collection video very, very soon,
where we rate your watch collection. So make sure you head to the Chisholm Hunter Instagram,
which is just Chisholm Hunter Watches. Follow us there. I'll be announcing it on that channel.
And make sure you subscribe to this channel if you enjoy the videos. I'd really appreciate it.
It helps us so much more than you know. Next on the list, we are bouncing back to Seiko,
because they really have... I don't want to say they have a monopoly on the market at this price
point, but they definitely have a huge stake in the market at this price point. So I saw this
watch about two years ago, and it still remains one of my favorite Seikos. This is the Seiko
SSK023. It's from the 5 Sports Field Series, and it's a GMT model. There's a couple of different
variations that you can choose here. I've gone for the black with stainless steel, just because
I think that is the most classic variant. And it comes in stainless steel, of course. It comes in
at 39.4 millimeters in diameter. So it's just above 39 mil, and it comes in at 47.9 millimeters
lug-to-lug. It comes in at 13.6 millimeters in thickness and has a curved hard lex crystal,
which gives it that little bit more of a vintage hue. It has the movement 4R34,
which is fully automatic with 41 hours of power and 24 joules. It's water-resistant to 10 bar,
of course, has the GMT functionality on there if you want to read multiple time zones at the one
time. This watch comes in at £410, but I do know that there's a couple of people doing discounts
on it, so you can probably get it cheaper. And if you are looking for a little sneaky discount on
your next watch, make sure you use the discount code CHSUB on the Chisholm Hunter website. That
is C-H-S-U-B. It works on selected lines. And if you shop at Chisholm Hunter, it helps keeps our
lights on in the studio. So I'd really up for that. So whenever I talk about Citizen, I normally
talk about the Soyosa. And I think that's because it's an absolute banging watch. And to be honest,
it's hard to go up from there, especially at that price. But I think this watch does. This
is the Citizen Soyosa Small Seconds. There's a couple of different variations to choose between.
I would personally go for the blue or potentially the grey. I think that's actually
pretty sexy. It comes in at 40mm in diameter, 11.7mm in thickness, 45.7mm lug to lug. It has
sapphire crystal glass, comes in at 50m of water resistance. It has a beautiful dial texture that
you can see there that makes it look just that little bit more premium. And it has the automatic
caliber 8-3-2-2 with 21 jewels and beating at 21,600 VPH with 60 hours of power. I just think
when it comes to this watch in particular, that the step up from the original is pretty tangible,
especially with that dial detail and the small seconds, the added complication.
It just looks great. And all of this comes in under £400. The next watches we're going to
talk about, I'm just going to glaze over because I know, I know for a fact I'm going to get killed
for this in the comments. I don't know why. I feel like they're just such a hot topic. Nobody
really likes talking about them, but they are a hot topic. It's a weird thing that goes on in the
watch industry. But it is the Moon Swatch and also the Blompan X Swatch Scuba. Now, love it or hate
it, you cannot deny that these watches look absolutely brilliant on the wrist. And it was
possibly one of the most incredible marketing stunts from any brand ever. I mean, it got so
many new enthusiasts into the industry. It was just incredible. And I for one, I know that some
people might not be, but I for one was an absolute fan. I think the Moon Swatch in particular looks
just phenomenal on the wrist. And also you're paying £240 for something that looks like a
Moonwatch. I mean, it's so Instagrammable. It looks great. Now the Blompan X Swatch Scuba,
that also looks brilliant on the wrist. I have one in the collection, but it's just a little
bit too thick. And I think it's too thick because of the movement, the System 51 movement that's in
it. But I think the Moonwatch in particular is a watch that looks brilliant at the price that it
is. I really, really do. You're getting the DNA of a Moonwatch for that price. And for me, that's
pretty awesome. But I'm going to glaze over that because I know that it's one that I don't want
to bore you with. Right. So next up, when we think of Hamilton, we often think of the Khaki
Field or the Murph actually because of Interstellar. I suppose it falls under the same category. So we
normally think of the Khaki Field, right? And I think that the reason that is the case is because
it's such a bloody brilliant watch. But I genuinely think I've begun to prefer the quartz version over
the mechanical. And there's just a couple of details as to why. Firstly, it looks great and
affordable. This is the Khaki Field Quartz 38 millimeters. But if you want, you could go down
to 33. There's tons of variations to choose between. Let's just talk about the white at the
moment just as an example. It comes in at 8.3 millimeters in thickness. It comes in full
stainless steel with a NATO strap, has sapphire crystal glass, is water resistant to 50 meters.
And a couple of things that I did notice about this watch comparatively to the mechanical,
and that's why I put it on this list, is one, the glass is so much less reflective and has less
clear. It looks so much better than the mechanical. Even though I love the mechanical, I've got
mechanical and I've also got an Expedition Khaki Field, but it looks great. It really, really does.
It looks so much crisper and flatter than the Khaki Field Mechanical. And also there's the
profile to the wrist. It's just slimmer and that's because of the quartz movement. And that gives it
extra dimension when it's on the wrist. I really urge you to go into whatever your local store is
and just try these both on. And it's really weird because I have a really big bias towards mechanical,
but I genuinely am steering towards the quartz here. It comes in at 375 pounds.
Next up, we're diving into Bucroft. Now, this is a brand that I stumbled upon quite recently.
They're based in Cambridge in the UK, which I like. I like British watchmakers. I like the fact
that they do something that little bit different and they released something fairly recently that I
was quite taken aback by. I really like it. I actually managed to try it on in a watch collectors
event at Chisholm Hunter quite recently. I was really taken aback by how bloody beautiful this
thing is in person versus what the price is. This is the Bucroft Elements. Now, you do get a couple
of variations. You get an Ocean Blue, you get a Temper Red, you get a Forest Green, a Glacial Blue,
a Rebel Black, a Sunset Orange. You guys get the picture. There's quite a lot of variants here.
So let's just look at the Ocean Blue for an example because I think this is one of the most
the most sexy, at least to me. It comes in at 39.5 millimeters in diameter, 11.6 millimeters in
thickness, and 46.5 millimeters lug to lug. It hits that pretty good sweet spot to most of us
watch guys. It has domed sapphire crystal glass, it has diamond cut rhodium plated hands, and it
has a screw down crown with 200 meters of water resistance. It comes in a full stainless steel,
has on the fly macro adjustments, and it also has the movement Miyota 9039,
meeting a frequency of 28,800 VPH, and it has 24 jewels with 42 hours of power.
There's a couple of things that stood out about this watch when I actually tried it on. It wasn't
a specific one, but it was a similar variant. It was firstly the quality. Secondly, I really like
the logo, and thirdly the dial depth, and then everything you get for the price. This watch comes
in at £649, and genuinely when I tried this watch on, it felt more premium than a lot of brands above
that price threshold. Genuinely, and I really like that. And now we have the watch that I actually
showed you at the start. The watch that competes with a Submariner for a fraction, or that competes
with the Submariners, maybe a strong strong word there, but you guys get what I mean. This is the
Casio MDV-107D-1A1VEF. It comes in at 49.5 millimetres in length, 46.3 millimetres in
width, though it is a chunky monkey, and 12.1 millimetres in height. It comes in full stainless
steel and aluminium, is water resistant to 200 metres, is made in China. You have to remember
with Casio, because of the price you're paying, it is probably going to be made in China. Doesn't
make it a bad watch, just makes it, you know, the materials and the costs a little bit cheaper,
and essentially makes it cheaper to us. This watch comes in at under £90, £89.90, and it looks just
fantastic for the price. Casio often is the god of watches. I mean, if you take away Rolex, Casio
are probably the god of watches, realistically. Who doesn't have a Casio? Let me know what
affordable watches look super expensive in the comments to you guys. This is just a list that
made for fun. I really enjoy looking into these kind of things. Thank you guys so much for
watching. If you did enjoy, hit that subscribe button, or follow our Instagram at Chisholm

which I'd really appreciate, and I'll see you guys real soon.
