Saving money on car insurance is a great goal to have. You can save hundreds of dollars a month
by switching to one of the cheapest insurance companies. And that's what we're going to look
at today. The cheapest car insurance companies. And perhaps one of these companies will be a good
fit for you. But remember, your unique situation can make a difference in your auto insurance
rates. And so these companies might be good for you. In fact, they're definitely worth checking
out. But they might not be a good fit. And the only way to know is to do a quote comparison and
see how these companies might work for you. So go to quote.com, enter your zip code into their
comparison tool. And you can get several quotes from several companies and find out which one
might be right for you. It's free. It's easy. No excuse not to do it. So we're going to look
at quote.com and check out their cheapest car insurance companies.
So the cheapest car insurance company is USAA. USAA is a great company. They tend to get
really good customer satisfaction scores consistently year after year.
But they are only available to military members and their families. That's the problem. Not
everybody can get USAA. So then there's GEICO. And GEICO is available to the general public.
You don't have to be a military member. You don't have to be related to a military member. Just
anybody off the street, including military members, can get a quote, can get a policy from GEICO. So
check them out. Then there's State Farm. State Farm is also available to the general public.
And they are one of the cheapest companies around. So you can see that GEICO gets the
second cheapest car insurance rating and State Farm gets the third cheapest insurance rating.
So we'll have to read on to find out who the best are to round off the top 10.
Let's look a little bit more at USAA, GEICO, and State Farm. They are the three cheapest.
Here we see a list of a comparison between top providers and how much each of them costs. You
can see that USAA starts monthly rates at $22 a month. And then GEICO is $30. State Farm,
$33. Travelers, $37. Progressive, $39. American Family at $43 and Nationwide at $44. Farmers
Insurance, $53. Allstate, $61. And Liberty Mutual, $68. So when you're comparing the difference
between USAA at $22 a month and Liberty Mutual at $68 a month, there's a big difference there.
Even comparing GEICO versus Liberty Mutual, you're seeing that Liberty Mutual is on average
double the price. But remember, just because that's the average doesn't mean that's how it's
going to be for you. So you're going to want to go to quote.com, enter your zip code, answer
questions unique to you, and see how your rates compare to these national averages. And maybe
one of these more expensive companies is actually the cheapest for you. There's no way to know
unless you compare. So USAA, they have the cheapest car insurance,
specifically for military families. As I said before, unfortunately, they're only
for military personnel and their families. So not everybody is eligible for a policy.
And then GEICO, they have extensive discounts. So when you check out GEICO,
you might see a premium of, let's just say, $60 a month. But then when you put on all the discounts
you're eligible for, that could bring it down to $30 a month. They have many discounts. They
have streamlined cost saving technology and efficient claim processing, which is a big deal
when you have to file a claim. Most of the time, it doesn't matter to you. But when you file a
claim, it becomes a very big deal. Customer service, perhaps not the best. There's some
complaints. And then they have basic coverage options. Some people might say that they're
too basic, but they do have a wide range of coverages. So you should check it out before you
make that change your mind about getting a quote. State Farm, they have local agents. You can build
a relationship with your local State Farm agent. And that is something that can give you a lot of
peace of mind. They have safe driver discounts. They have a user-friendly app. They have safe
driver. They have usage-based programs to encourage safe driving and give you a discount.
On the downside, they have variable regional rates. So some parts of the country may be a lot
higher than others. And customers might not get the best rates unless they make sure they go in
there and look for the discounts available. Now, Travelers has a great financial stability. And
that's something that you look for in a company, because if you file a claim, you want a company
that can pay your claim. You don't want a company that's on the verge of bankruptcy.
So that financial stability is a big deal. They have flexible discount options and cost-effective
customization. Unfortunately, more comprehensive options may come at a higher price and sometimes
can be a little tricky to figure out what your best options are. Progressive is best for competitive
rates. So they have a flexible rate structure and utilizes advanced pricing models to offer some of
the cheapest car insurance rates. They're also really good at helping people get policies that
maybe have a hard time finding an insurance provider. And then, of course, they have great
discounts. Customer service. Some have great experiences. Some don't. So that's something
to consider. American Family has great flexible coverage. You can get customized cost reduction.
You can kind of tweak the policy to exactly what you need so you're not paying for anything you
don't need. And then they have great loyalty-driven insurance savings, loyalty discounts,
long-term customer discounts. And then they're pretty affordable for a broad range of drivers.
So even if you have a less than stellar record, you may be able to get a policy through them.
Sometimes premiums increase. That's on the downside. And sometimes managing a policy is a
little tricky. But remember, you're if you talk to someone that can help make it easier than doing it
all online. Nationwide has great vanishing deductible program. So the longer you go without
filing a claim, the lower your deductible goes. So maybe you start with a 500 and after several years
of no accidents, you have worked your way down to a zero deductible, which is a great benefit
that a lot of people would pay a lot extra for. But on the downside, their initial premiums may
be high before you get your vanishing deductible, before you get your discounts. Those initial
premiums may be higher than some of the competition. Then we have Farmers, best for
customizable policies. So remember, you're going to want to compare these insurance companies to
others. And so get a baseline idea for how much you could be saving or paying by going to quote.com,
entering your zip code, entering some questions, getting some free quotes. And if Farmers doesn't
come back as one of those quotes, you can always go to the Farmers website and get an individual
quote from them. But quote.com is just a great place to get started. And Farmers has great
tailored customization options. Agents secure best. So see our detailed analysis of Farmers
versus USAA. You can see some of a more in-depth. This is just like a really surface view of Farmers
that will give you a more in-depth view. But local agents are able to help customers navigate
options and secure the cheapest insurance deals. Like I said, talking to a person can be
so helpful. On the downside, there's kind of a complexity to costs and the regional rate varies.
Now, Allstate is best for comprehensive coverage. So if you want more than just the minimum coverage,
they have great comprehensive options for you. They have a lot of discounts and they have a lot
great agents to work with. On the downside, sometimes those comprehensive options come at
a higher cost and sometimes that ability to get a policy that's unique just for you can make the
process a little bit more tricky or difficult. And then coming in and our number 10 spot
is Liberty Mutual. They have a great multi-policy discount. So if you have home and auto insurance
you're going to get a good discount from them. They have flexible options, but their base rate
is higher as we saw. They're number 10, not number one. So they may be a little bit more expensive
and their discount system may be a little bit harder to figure out. But each of these top 10
companies are great companies and could be a great fit for you. So head over to quote.com,
enter your zip code, compare rates. And remember if you don't get a quote from a company in this
list, you can go to their website and get a quote just specifically from that company.
But starting with quote.com will help you get multiple quotes at once.
So it gives you a great place to start and learn.
