week in my life: anxiety chat, hair extensions out, new desk + bedroom update, shop w me

Wednesday morning, it's a gloomy, gloomy day. I don't think it's raining, but it kind of looks like it will. I just made a cup of coffee, woke up. Ryan just left for work. I'm so excited because my best friend Kelly just got engaged last night and I knew it was happening and I was waiting all night last night for her to text us. And now she's texting us trying to hang out because obviously we want to hear all about it, but I don't know if she knows yet. I don't know if her fiance has told her, but he's throwing a party tonight. So I'm like, I'll see you tonight. But I don't know if she knows or not, so I'm just kind of waiting. If not, I think we're gonna meet up this morning just to kind of debrief because obviously I want to hear everything. I want to hear how it happened. Everything is so exciting. Let me take a sip of coffee. But today is kind of a back-to-back kind of day. Guys, I'm getting my extensions taken out just for a couple weeks. I'm needing a break from them and also I need new hair. I've had this hair since April. So it's kind of almost a year that I've had this hair, which is actually crazy. Or maybe since March, I don't know. So then it's really almost a year. I have so many extensions. They're amazing. But I feel like on the top where they're sewn in, they're just a little messed up. And I'm going to Florida end of this week for 10 days and then I'm going on a brand trip to St. Bart's and there's going to be lots of swimming and sunscreen and hair wet, dry. I don't know. It's just like, let me get my extensions taken out even though I'm mourning the loss already. Because everyone asks, like I think so many, like because my extensions aren't that long now. Like I cut them pretty short just because I wanted the fullness. So I have no idea what it's going to look like when we take my extensions out. I have like kind of an idea because every time I get them bumped up, he basically takes it out completely. I don't know. Like this is, I think this is my real hair. I guess that's like decent, but I mean, it's going to look significantly different. So 10 a.m. this morning, we're getting the extensions taken out and then he's going to like trim my ends, blow it out. So at least I feel good. And then maybe going to meet up with Kelly and Cass to like debrief last night. I'm so, so happy for her. And then I have a podcast recording with Brooke, which I'm so excited about. I feel like we haven't podcasted in a second. It's been like a week, but like it feels so much longer. So I'm excited. Actually, we literally podcasted last week, but we had a guest on. So, which was Delaney, which is so fun. Oh my God, that episode's up. I need to post at the new podcast episodes. Oh my gosh. Totally just remembered. It's so fun. And then from there, we're going to go to alteration specialist because I have to get like all of my clothes altered cause I'm so short. I'm only 5'3", but I don't know. That seems to be an issue with a lot of the clothes I buy. Cause I have some outfits that I want to wear on this brand trip and they came and they're just a little too long. So I need to get them hemmed. And then we have Kelly and Landon's engagement party tonight. So big day, back-to-back kind of day. Need to lock in. So I'm just enjoying my little morning to myself. We're going to move to the couch. Hey, we're all cozied up. So I also did this thing where I told Spotify or like Alexa to play one song which was Sharpest tool by Sabrina Carpenter I'm grabbing my rain boots cuz it's kind of raining out and I just let her do her thing after that and it has played Such a lovely Array of songs like Harry Styles songs that I haven't listened to in a while like like daylight by hair styles Such a good song and I just haven't listened to it in a second. It played like some TTP from Taylor Swift It's just been great like I've skipped a couple songs But I love I think it's Spotify that does that cuz my Spotify is connected to my Amazon Alexa But I just love how it plays similar music Okay got my rain boots on and put a rain jacket on or something with a hood so I can protect my blowout after cuz we're Gonna take out the extensions and then I asked if he would like trim my ends and give me a blowout So I don't hate my life. Like I said, I'm being so dramatic I realize I just like love my hair like I absolutely love my hair but I also want to be able to do slick backs and Get in the pool maybe and just not be so worried and just run my hands through my hair Wow, this is this is it? Okay, let's go I Am so happy I'm so happy like to me my hair is short, but it definitely was a little longer. It was just like the deadest event So this looks so much healthier. We trimmed up the front layers a little bit I can't stop running my hands through my hair every time I get my extensions taken out I want to like try all these new hairstyles do it. Oh my god, claw clips gonna go hard like a half of half down It's gonna be so easy on my walk back from the hair salon. I got Fixation I go in and out in fixation with places like this like I ate so much kava I think it's kind of like when I first moved to New York that for years I just couldn't eat it again. But then this year Ryan's been getting it a lot and I know I love it again So yeah, like I'm kind of off on Chipotle at the moment But you never know I get romaine and rice as the base and then grilled chicken and then literally all of the sides that involve tomato or cucumber So I think that's like three different ones and then the Greek vinaigrette on top Oh, and then always the free pita very very important. It just dropped Brooke off at Aritzia She's doing like a personal styling appointment to help her find outfits to wear on Ben's match day for medical school So I'm excited to hear it goes and I'm headed to alteration specialist get these dresses tailored I need them to turn around by tomorrow because I need to bring these with me to Florida before the brand trip So hope they can do it Thank God I wore my jacket with a hood it's like raining again. The tailor is literally my second home. I love it there It's engagement party time Kelly and Landon are engaged and He set up a party to celebrate It's not like a surprise party for her because I guess she doesn't like love surprises So she knows about the party. Well, like she found out yesterday. So which is good. No more surprises They're gonna come a little bit later though, so we can all like be there when they get there So it's like surprised in a way. I'm so excited. I haven't seen her. I haven't talked to her like too much I didn't want to bother but she did say she's like dressing up. So she wants us to dress up. So here's my outfit This is my dress from Thanksgiving. You guys remember it's the brand house up I love it and it's warm long-sleeve and I'm doing this clutch from the brand Flattered and my Gucci bags and I'm gonna throw a coat over top because it is raining So this is the outfits like this my okay, like I need to remember my hair shorter. I think it still looks good I don't know. I think I have length blindness Touching it, but it does feel good to run my hand through my hair. So anyways Ryan's meeting me there. I'm so excited I'm on duty of like opening up the bar and not me but like I'm meeting the owner there since Landon and Kelly are getting there a little bit later and Need to go ASAP so I can be there so the owners like okay this party is happening indeed I Mean it's not cute, but it's so freeing I'm like so constantly worried about the hair extensions, but there's none to worry about. I'm not even gonna lie I am so anxious right now, and I really can't like put a finger on it last night was so fun Oh my god, it was so amazing celebrating Kelly Landon, and I think I just had a really back-to-back day yesterday I don't really know. Oh, and then I drank a cup of coffee I don't know why I'm about to eat while I'm trying to talk. I drank a cup of coffee like non-decaf here at the apartment before Going I just didn't have energy and I think I got a little too wound up So then like I don't know if you guys ever get like this if you're out of social then you're talking and you're so excited Then you get in the car. You're like oh, whoa. Oh my gosh. My body is like not able to handle that I don't know how to explain it. I just get myself really wound up So we got back here, and I was trying to wind down and I was just having trouble and so Ryan was like okay Tell me about your day tomorrow, or what'd you do today like it was really helpful But then I just woke up in the middle night, and I couldn't fall back asleep I was just so anxious And I just haven't had this in a really long time like I've really like through therapy and just getting to know my body Better I feel like I've I can't combat my anxiety completely cuz my anxiety is very like physical like heart palpitations Just like physical, and I don't know I was having a lot of trouble just like calming down I think I finally fell back asleep at like 4 a.m.. And then Ryan went to work So when I was up tried to lay back in bed I don't know I feel like I have an anxiety hangover if that makes sense like because I couldn't sleep because it like I'm like should I still Be anxious right now like my heart's still fluttering like it's not I don't know Really weird feeling so what am I doing? I had the bad bunny half-time show on I was trying to dance and just like let the energy out I don't know so now. I'm trying electrolytes and a banana, so that's where we're at this morning But I'm gonna turn this day around let's talk about some fun things things that make me excited clothes. I was I wasn't sure but it is I'm sorry Starfish so cute. I love a triangle bikini. I love love the starfish We'll see how it does in the pool, but and then matching bottoms, and it's like thick nice quality go Amazon I've been wanting a poncho for like beach vacation stuff like that. You know at night when it gets a little chilly I don't know where this starts. Where's the oh here? It's like an asymmetrical one So the heads up here you could wear it like dressed up or just over your dress over a bikini I feel like that's cute and then also from Amazon I got this which is a little brown like beach cover-up But it's sheer. I love the sleeves sheet. Okay, we're so back whenever I feel anxious Cleaning or packing or unpacking really kind of helps me just like distracts me and then I'm like wait, I'm actually okay I'm okay. So I packed and this is just a beautiful bed I haven't packed for a travel vacation in a hot minute and this is so much fun So as you guys know, I'm going to st. Bart's but before that I'm going to Florida Thankfully our house in Florida. I left a lot of like active wear and I just wear a lot of like comfy casual clothes So I'm just bringing some here. I forgot if I said this but we're wearing light blue for my mom's birthday party So I've got my dress for that and then this is everything for st. Bart. I'm so excited. There are themed nights There's like a light blue neutral night. There's a gold night. We're doing like a day party. So trying to figure out what I'm wearing There's an orange night, which is something that I got altered yesterday So I need to look at that today when it's done and then these are like my bathing suits and cover-ups and some of this I'll be able to I'm going to Florida to Like take care of my dad and just like be with him. So Part of that is just like getting him outside being outside just good vibes And so I'm hoping I'll get to get some Sun in so and he's excited to just like sit out back and have some quality Time together while he heals up. So yeah, I'll be wearing some of these bathing suits in Florida, too Is the plan and then I got a good culture. Sorry. I literally awful I got good culture cottage cheese merch and I don't know if this is a dog toy But I'm gonna give this to Finley because my whole family loves this cottage cheese like how cute so Nick and Prague I mean, this is we're basically done. Well, no, I have to pack pajamas underwear like some comfy clothes, but pretty good Okay, I just want to say I am so sorry about this morning. You guys just caught me in a moment Well, I fully turned the camera on but I feel like some moments like that can resonate with you guys And I want you guys to feel like you're not alone If you're having anxious moments and thoughts and I'm really grateful that I'm starting to feel a little better It just took some music Podcasts walking around the apartment now, I'm gonna go outside and get some fresh air, which I think will be really good for me I'm going well take the subway. That'll be you know, my walk to the subway would be my fresh air I'm getting my lashes lifted and tinted as I do routinely but I Literally love it so much and I just feel so good and like you just look so naturally pretty because even if you don't have Makeup on your lashes are curled and tinted and then she also derma planes my skin while the lash lift and tint is like Processing and my skin is in dire need. So this will be good. I'll be all set for all my trips and I I'm so happy. She got these cute little blankets to guys. My lashes look unreal. I'm sucking on a Jolly Rancher my skin so happy Lash is all done and I just got a text that my dresses are ready at alteration specialist Thank God because I need them tonight. So let's go get them I showed my lashes earlier, but they're so good I got back into cozy's and I just about finished packing all into one suitcase Which I might regret it's gonna be one big heavy suitcase, but like it all fits So I'm gonna zip her up and then it's nine o'clock which means there's officially a new episode of the show love story on Hulu about JFK jr. And Carolyn beset like oh my god Ryan and I are both obsessed and we watched the first three episodes like as soon as they came out So episode 4 is now out So we're gonna watch that here soon and then go to bed and then tomorrow morning I had to tamp so I never bring you guys with me for I'm like gonna vlog a little bit while I'm at home and so my dad can say hi girls and all the things and I'm getting a couple new pieces for my bedroom at home in Florida that I want to show you guys that I'm really excited about and I just I love my room there and I'm having so Much fun fit as much as I love my roomie. We're listening to some Jack Johnson this morning cleaning the sheets Even though I'm not gonna get some joy when I'm leaving and I signed up for an equinox class I'm gonna go to the stronger class cuz honestly I haven't worked out a lot in the last two weeks and I'm wondering if that's also why So I've been so consistent that maybe my nervous system's like hey We're used to like lifting weights and like, you know, releasing some endorphins. So I think it'll be good I'm gonna go to like a weightlifting class called stronger that I really really like and I'm making a coffee And I'm gonna put some eye patches on bring the coffee to the gym. It's just gonna be a good day Right Ryan Ryan's gonna miss me though, but he's coming to Tampa next week It's really so annoying Okay, it's my room coming into this room is so relaxing Hello in my room and it's just paradise you guys I also got this pillow from Amazon. Yeah. Anyways, regardless just being a picky This is Finley's bed. He's gonna sleep in here with me Now that I have a queen-size bed in here He gets in bed with me, which is actually hard for me to sleep because I don't want him to move So I'm like uncomfortable So I brought his dog bed in here tonight because he might start on the bed with me and then get off but like guys We've come so far. I mean this room has seen so many different eras and I love this one This one's very me. They've all been very me in that time. And this is very me. I'm very adult So the next project eventually will be to get like curtains or something I mean, I'd love just new window treatments but I don't know maybe the Better fix is just to get some curtains or something to kind of soften up the space a little because these are quite old now But I also don't live here full-time so we don't need to go crazy and I am so happy I bought this a suitcase rack like this is so perfect and it's easy for me to get things like I love it. So it's a little cloudy cold, but next weekend It'll be warm again. And my dad was saying he was like, I know you want the warmth but living in Florida It's actually nice having seasons, which I that's why I moved to New York. So I get it Yeah, no, that's okay Yeah, unfortunately, no, but that's okay so we're just in here talking about my room what we should do and then the next project would be to redo his room because I'm not gonna show you guys that needs to be like literally gutted like cuz he has carpeted floors still and the shower Not to put you on but the carpet is the same carpet when I bought this house in 1994 Yes, it's it's time to it's time so but that Yes Yeah, if you guys don't know which I think I said in my vlog but my parents did a switch so like two years ago Two years ago. My mom moved out and bought a condo and then my dad moved back into the house So kept the house in the family Keep he purchased it from her fair and square okay, I've been hyping myself up for the last hour to go down to the gym and work out because my brother made Our garage downstairs like a gym and it's really nice on us. I mean it has everything you need. I don't really know What I'm gonna do probably just like I don't know We're gonna see what I'm gonna do but I just want to lift some weights and just Get those endorphins going because when I did that the other day, it really made me feel good And my dad's had such a good day today. We've had such a great day We like clean the fridge. We planned all these things We want to do like with the house like just good vibes like the middle of the day like late morning is always the best time for him and then I think after I work out him and I are gonna get in the sauna together for A little bit, which would be really nice Such a blessing that we have one here. I wanted a sauna with my dad, but he wasn't up for it So just me this time, but it's actually kind of better There's not much room and this way I can lay and i'm watching finley. He's out back It's been 30 minutes Oh i'm sweating I love when you get out of the sauna and your face is still like Red and has color from the sauna because I also have a little bit of a sunburn from yesterday It's just very satisfying on my pale face, you know towel time this towel or this robe is from cozy earth It's so good. It is I love how I can kind of wrap it around my neck like it's magical i'm still in the process But I had to shout out this product this is that wavy talk thermal brush I saw this so much on tiktok shop like a while back And I finally got it because I wanted a smaller barrel thermal brush All the ones I have are like a little bit bigger because I have shorter hair right now And it is making I just blew dry. I blow dried my hair just rough dried and then I really like this one Because it holds your hair nicely so you can really like grab onto the hair And then you do that perfect like flip so I this is my first time using it. Well, it's two days later yesterday We spent the basically the whole day at a special hospital for cancer patients specifically in tampa and it was a really good experience and No new answers necessarily but they basically This doctor was amazing and he ordered a few new tests and scans for my dad to do to kind of figure out why he's not feeling great, but Today has been a really great day. And yesterday honestly was a really great day It just like didn't feel like vlogging obviously, so i'm about to go run some errands. I'm gonna get him a smoothie He got in the sauna this morning And it's not as cold today like randomly started getting cold in florida But I mean it's cold. It's just not as windy should I say anyways I'm gonna go run some errands pick up some prescriptions for him smoothie all the things and Then come back and west elm is gonna be here to deliver my desk So here's a little before the desk is gonna go right there I bought this little like console table basically and a chair and both from west elm so they'll be delivered together I moved my suitcase over a little bit. So there's some room That's like a little extender for wi-fi because my wi-fi is not as good in this room Of course so I went ahead and plugged that in because you'll be You won't even see that when the chair is tucked under the desk I'm, i'm so excited to like see it in the space. But yeah, this is a little before i'm gonna go run some errands I'll be back with a new desk. She's here It's beautiful. This fluted wood reminds me of the kitchen in my last apartment If you know, you know, it's like literally the same shade and everything and I love that There's these two like pretty shallow but good little drawers here so I can put papers and just so there's no clutter on top And then this chair is also from west elm. Obviously it tucks in which I will do in a second I'm, just trying to show you guys the full effect here. I am extremely happy. Like this is so fun I just showered pulled back my hair and then put on this flowy dress My mom and I are gonna go to the mall because i'm also here to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday i'm throwing her this huge party i'm so excited like dj everything and We've made the theme light blue or blue shades of blue but in honor of her birthstone with which is aquamarine So we're kind of going for light blue vibes blue in general though, and she was like I need something to wear So I was like we will go to the mall. So this is my outfit It's literally like 55 degrees outside, but we're gonna be inside and I didn't I don't know I feel like this is cute and easy and i'm just gonna throw on some sandals. I'm not wearing makeup I just don't really feel like it and then I pulled my hair back But my mom just got here and I want her to see my desk mom Okay. All right. I will do that. Oh, okay.
