How to Draw a Cottage in a Landscape Scene for Beginners

Hi, Tom here, in this Circle Line Art School video I'll show you one way to draw a house in a landscape using a pencil.
The first step is to draw a horizon line, the line between the ground and the sky,
and then a single vanishing point on the left hand side,
and a short vertical line on the right hand side which crosses your horizon line.
This short vertical line represents the corner of the cottage that we're going to draw.
Next, using the vanishing point as a guide, draw a series of lines from your vertical line towards the vanishing point,
to show the receding side of the cottage,
how it gets smaller as it goes towards the vanishing point and the distance.
Next, draw a square and a triangle on the right hand side of the cottage,
and use your vanishing point to guide the receding line to the left hand side,
Now, you could add some details to the cottage, which include lines for the timber frame structure, a thatched roof and a chimney.
Next, draw a simple curved bridge going towards your single vanishing point.
This will help guide your lines in one point perspective as they recede to the distance of the horizon.
You could draw a river or a stream in the foreground going under the bridge.
You could add a tree on the left, using simple V shapes for the splitting of the branches,
and the side of your pencil for the shading.
The last stage in this drawing is to add some more shading and details.
