Typhon: The Monster With 100 Heads That Almost Defeated Zeus | Greek Mythology

G

Typhon was Gaea's final weapon against the Olympian gods. Born from Gaea and Tartarus, created to destroy divine order. One hundred serpent heads, voice of every animal, body tall enough to touch the stars. His arrival triggered mass panic — every god fled to Egypt disguised as animals. Only Zeus remained to fight. Typhon tore out Zeus's tendons leaving him paralyzed and helpless. Hermes recovered them in secret. Zeus counterattacked with thunderbolts from the sky, burying Typhon beneath Mount Etna for eternity. Every volcanic eruption is the imprisoned monster's rage.
