Our travel period was from late July to mid-August.
Welcome to our unforgettable road trip through breathtaking landscapes,
charming towns and Canada's untouched wilderness.
Our journey began in Vancouver, a vibrant metropolis on the Pacific.
Here we picked up our RV from Canadream and we were absolutely thrilled.
The vehicle was spacious, modern and offered the highest level of comfort,
the perfect mobile home for our adventure.
After familiarizing ourselves with the vehicle and packing everything away,
we made our way to the supermarket for our first big shopping trip.
We spent over $300 stocking up on everything we needed for the trip.
With all our supplies loaded, we hit the road towards our first destination, Squamish.
After a scenic drive along the Sea to Sky Highway,
we arrived in Squamish, surrounded by towering mountains and dense forests.
The next morning, we had a major highlight on our itinerary, the Sea to Sky gondola.
The ride up offered breathtaking views of the Howe Sound, rugged peaks and endless forests.
Once at the top, we explored the stunning hiking trails and soaked in the incredible scenery.
There are various trails that are easily manageable for every age group.
After that, we headed into the charming town of Squamish,
known for its relaxed vibe and friendly people.
The cozy cafes, local shops and mountain backdrop made the visit unforgettable.
Squamish Lake is a world-class destination for windsurfing and kite surfing,
offering consistent thermal winds and ideal water conditions.
Next, we drove to Whistler, one of Canada's most famous winter sports destinations.
Our campsite was in the Whistler Olympic Park, where the 2010 Winter Olympics took place.
The impressive ski jump reminded us of the epic sporting events that had been held here.
We also used the time to restock our RV.
In the evening, we enjoyed the absolute tranquility and breathtaking nature,
before heading to Whistler Village the next morning.
The village was lively, full of shops, restaurants and cafes.
We discovered a small, cozy cafe that served the best hot chocolate and an amazing matcha tea.
Our journey then took us to Clearwater and into Wells Grey Provincial Park,
a true paradise for nature lovers.
The temperature differences were remarkable, warm during the day,
but quite chilly at night, making us appreciate how diverse Canada's climate can be.
We spent three nights at one of our favorite camping spots in Clearwater,
called RV Dutch Lake Resort.
Dinner that night was a highlight, freshly grilled Canadian salmon,
accompanied by regional ingredients, absolutely delicious.
The next day, we explored some of the park's spectacular waterfalls,
including the famous Helmken Falls.
The sheer power of the cascading water was mesmerizing,
and we could hardly tear our eyes away.
The power of water, combined with the stunning nature, has shown us how unique this place is.
Wells Grey Provincial Park embodies everything one imagines about Canada.
Moreover, it is hardly touristy, preserving its uniqueness.
In the afternoon, we cooled off in Dutch Lake together with a few friends,
enjoying a relaxing time.
Next stop, Banff National Park.
On our way there, we saw some remnants of the bushfires,
which were devastating during our time in Canada.
We also made a quick pit stop at a swimming pool and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
We already found the perfect place to spend the night,
but when we reached Banff National Park, our expectations were greatly exceeded.
On our first hike, we set out with the hope of seeing a bear.
After just five minutes of walking, we suddenly stopped as we spotted a black bear by the trail.
We waited until the bear moved further away,
then continued our hike with a Dutch family we met along the way.
The view of the surrounding landscape and the profound silence of nature captivated us,
and we couldn't get enough of the untouched beauty of the area.
Something magical happened at Emerald Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Canada.
I asked Jenny the most important question of my life, and she said yes.
An unforgettable moment, surrounded by Canada's stunning natural beauty.
We ended the evening with a romantic sunset at a campground near Calgary.
After this emotional highlight, we made our way to Calgary.
From the top of the Calgary Tower, we enjoyed a spectacular view over the city.
We strolled through the bustling downtown, visited local markets,
and soaked in the energetic atmosphere.
Next, we travelled to Banff Town and Canmore, two charming places that immediately captivated us.
The perfect blend of urban charm and pure nature.
The mindset of the people here, relaxed, friendly, and deeply connected to the environment.
During our stay in Banff National Park, we also visited Johnston Canyon.
The hike up to the waterfalls was relatively easy and manageable for everyone,
but it turned out to be quite touristy.
Around the town of Banff, there are numerous walking trails offering unique views.
During our trip, we stayed at many great campsites,
but the best ones were always those where we could enjoy
complete tranquility and immerse ourselves in nature.
Another highlight was Marble Canyon, with its deep gorges and impressive rock formations.
Our next stop was Pato Lake.
We first explored the breathtaking nature around the lake and then made our way to the lake itself.
The incredible blue color is truly unique and even more intense than that of Emerald Lake.
Before making our way back to Vancouver, we took a break at a stunning crystal clear lake.
The cool water was incredibly refreshing and the perfect way to soak in one last moment of nature.
After that, we embarked on our nine-hour drive back to Vancouver.
The long journey gave us time to reflect on
all the incredible experiences we had gathered along the way.
But our adventure wasn't over yet.
We visited Stanley Park, took a short nap on the grass,
and explored the bustling streets of downtown Vancouver.
One of the most well-known landmarks in Vancouver is the Gastown Steam Clock,
which can be found in Gastown.
The Gastown Steam Clock is one of the few steam-powered clocks in the world
and is a popular photo opportunity.
To wrap up our trip, we embarked on a whale-watching tour and it was absolutely unforgettable.
We were lucky enough to see several humpback whales and countless seals.
Canada truly enchanted us, the nature, the people, the freedom of traveling on four wheels.
This journey was filled with adventure, discoveries, and unforgettable moments.
One thing is for sure, we will definitely come back again.
