According to the Falun Dafa Mingpao beginning on
February 17 2026 coinciding with the arrival of the
Chinese Lunar New Year eight groups of the Shenyin
Arts Troupe will perform
across six countries worldwide
Thirteen cities including the United States the United Kingdom France Italy Switzerland and South Korea continued
to host 39 performances with audiences marveling at the
divine quality of the music which they said was unsurpassable
It's a force that comes from the depths of the soul a洗礼 of the
spirit a performance everyone
around the world should experience
Audiences from various countries said
Shen Yun's performance is filled with poetry and vitality
Every moment brims with grace and love
deeply moving
Shen Yun is a masterpiece that embodies perfection the soul
and the divine—a profound expression of peace on this earth
This year Shen Yun's tour in France has reached
15 cities with 8 already performed each of the 38
shows sold out apart from Nantes where all 11
performances were extremely hard to get tickets for
The box office success in the subsequent
six cities will soon follow as all
64 000 tickets for Shen Yun's performances
in Italy were sold out in advance
All four shows in Daegu South Korea sold out completely
The performance in High Wycombe UK was a box office hit
Organizers extended the run to meet audience demand
Italian Senate member Rastrelli after watching Shen Yun
for the third time said he is
now a devoted fan of Shen Yun
This is a magnificent month-long heart-
pounding performance—a remarkable showcase
of China's ancient traditional culture revealing a China long before communism
It is an irreplaceable cultural and spiritual heritage
Shen Yun artists demonstrate extraordinary courage
using dance and music to resist communism which denies all freedom and tradition
This is a moment worth cherishing
Italy and Europe warmly welcome the arrival of the Shen Yun Performing Arts Group
French historian and university professor Alain Corras after watching Shen Yun said
From the very first moment I was deeply moved
It was the first time
My eyes were already welling up by
the time I reached the first program
— an emotion impossible to put into words yet undeniably profound
She also said the performance conveys messages
of faith heavenly trust selflessness and love it
first helps people understand China's history and traditions while also encouraging reflection
How should we support the Chinese people who continue to uphold these values
Romanian nobleman and philanthropist François Sturza after
watching a Shen Yun performance in Lausanne Switzerland said
I came to watch the performance not only
because of its artistic presentation—its
perfection that profound sense of emotion—but
also because of Shen Yun Performing Arts itself
This art troupe carries a profound mission
and it is precisely this mission that
breathes soul into the entire performance making this show truly one of a kind
It encompasses many aspects—truly numerous
—one hand the preservation of religion
faith and history and on the other the exposure of the harm caused by communism
Many have forgotten or never known
and even refuse to
understand—yet this ideology destroys the world destroys humanity and destroys the human soul
And in this performance what we've finally rediscovered is precisely
that soul He said I used to be a
complete atheist for various reasons
But now I am certain—there truly is something greater than us that
carries us through life for life is
certainly not a calm unbroken river
This is clearly evident in the performance
We need a force a moral force
A force that comes from the soul

Shen Yun Performing Arts will grace Copenhagen the capital of Denmark
this March with a free world-class
artistic celebration for local audiences
However the CCP attempted to sabotage Shen Yun'
s performance in Denmark by sending threatening
letters to the organizers targeting the Danish Prime Minister and senior government officials
In response several Danish political figures stated this is utterly unacceptable
On January 8 this year the Chinese Communist Party' s embassy in Denmark published a malicious statement
on its website in both Chinese and English targeting
the Shen Yun performances and the Falun Gong group
The statement attempts to prevent overseas
Chinese and Danish citizens from attending
the Shen Yun performance at the Royal Arena in Denmark between March 30 and April 2
February 10
The Shen Yun organizers in Denmark received anonymous threatening letter
the letter's subject line read
If Shen Yun insists on holding its performance
the Prime Minister of Denmark will step forward
Using the lives of the Prime Minister and all
senior government officials as leverage to intimidate
the organizers into canceling the performance
Danish parliamentarians told local media interviews
Condemn the CCP's interference in Denmark's democratic freedoms
equality and human rights including extreme intimidation tactics
February 17
Statement by the Social and Cultural Spokesperson of the Danish Liberal Alliance
Catherine Doherty stated after learning of CCP's malicious statement
that she personally attended a Shen
Yun performance in Odense last year
Feeling very good—definitely not as the CCP
claims—Ms Dohgad pointed
out that Denmark is
a country that values freedom and the CCP's statement
was not out of line she emphasized
In Denmark we have absolute artistic
freedom people can freely view the art they
choose Mikkel Bjørn Chair of the Danish
Parliament's Committee on Citizen Rights
It also condemned the CCP's attempts to influence
Danes She said I will never heed the CCP's authoritarian regime regarding public opinions
or ideas on participating in various activities
The chairman of Denmark's Business Committee Kim Valentin stated
that the Danish state does not interfere in whether individuals choose to participate or not
I just realized that in China people don't have this freedom
She further pointed out that the CCP embassy has also attempted to influence Danes which is entirely
unacceptable I truly hope this will encourage more
people to attend the mystical
performance on February 20
The Church spokesperson for Denmark 's
Liberal Alliance Carl Andersen stated in a
letter to an NTD reporter that the CCP embassy's stateme
Foreign interference clearly attempted to undermine
Denmark's freedom of assembly and religious expression
The Danish Liberal Party has long criticized the CCP's authoritarian regime for oppressing its people
He pointed out that the CCP's authoritarian regime suppresses
human rights as we have witnessed in Hong Kong Taiwan
and within China itself we believe Denmark must counter
the CCP through attractive economic or cultural measures
Offensive maneuvers to conceal all behind-the-scenes
political pressures he also believes Denmark 's past policies
toward China were misguided he stated the way the CCP conducts its affairs
Clearly contrary to Western values such as freedom and democracy
this includes the persecution of spiritual groups like Falun Gong
Regarding the threatening letters received by the Shen Yun organizers in Denmark targeting
Danish officials Anderson认为 the situation is extremely serious and utterly unacceptable
He emphasized that such threats should be reported immediately to the Danish
Intelligence Service for investigation as they could pose a risk to Denmark's sovereignty
He reiterated once again that the Freedom Alliance fully supports freedom of speech and belief
and we urge the Danish public to unite in resisting such pressure from authoritarian regimes
Now please enjoy "The Ritual of the Divine Land " a piece with lyrics by
Zi Yun music by Xiao Shi performed by the same-sex female vocal ensemble
Hello everyone in last week's broadcast program
we presented Chapter 36 "Farewell to the Past"
of the long-form narrative novel "The Dance That Pierces the Fog "
Today you will hear the final chapter "Faith and Rebirth "
I feel utterly broken physically and mentally drained I've tried every
possible solution even seeing a
psychologist but I still can't find relief
Eventually guided by a friend I began to seriously study Falun Gong
I calmly read its main text Zhuan Falun
and started practicing its five sets of exercises
Gradually light appeared before my eyes
ultimately my entire worldview was completely
transformed—I began living my life according to the principles of Zhen-Shan-Ren
No longer viewing issues solely through a self-centered lens nor merely
thinking about my own gain I now focus
more intently on what I can do for others
To achieve this goal in 2002 I founded
a nonprofit dance company dedicated to
teaching Chinese classical dance in 2006 I
was invited to bring the company to New York
Participating in the founding of Fei Tian Academy of Arts
a school dedicated to reviving traditional Chinese culture
which primarily offers courses in classical Chinese dance
ethnic dance folk dance as well as music and vocal training
Later I became a director of the Shen Yun
Performing Arts Company Each year I lead the
dance troupe on a six-month global tour with performances spanning all five continents
More than 200 cities across over two dozen countries
Despite my busy schedule I still stay closely in touch
with my son Shuang he’s happily married has two adorable
children and lives in Canada
with his family I also make a
conscious effort to stay connected
with my relatives in China
But it wasn't easy—especially after
a major event in Beijing in 1999
That summer I took a break from the National Ballet School of Canada
to return to China and spend a long vacation with my aging parents
I arrived in Beijing on July 15th planning to stay for six weeks
This is the second time I've returned to China for a family visit since Jianxin's passing
Although this might bring back painful memories of my final moments with Jianxin I'm still glad to
be back in my hometown seeing my family and friends
and I also look forward to meeting some new ones
Many of these friends were people I met through
practicing Falun Gong After Jianxin passed away in 1996
my life briefly fell into darkness but these fellow
practitioners of Falun Gong gave me tremendous support
They helped me rediscover my life's direction
I am deeply grateful for their support
and it has inspired me to hope for a reunion with these like-minded friends
especially one friend who lives in Beijing
He promised he'd contact me while I was staying in Beijing
On the fourth day after my arrival that friend called me
The call came to my mother's house
Welcome home
she said
I'm so glad you're back
but I have some bad news to share with you today
What happened
I asked my heart beginning to race
It's very serious
she said
Falun Gong is now being suppressed the government has started taking action
Some of my friends have been arrested and our homes have been searched
Why is this happening
I asked in shock
Trying to make sense of this completely unexpected news
I can't go into details right now
she said
but tomorrow we're heading to Zhongnanhai to peacefully petition
I think you should come
Of course I'll go I promised her
but after hanging up
I was left with deep doubts—according
to my understanding
Falun Gong is a Buddhist practice
Since its establishment on May 13 1992 it has
received recognition and praise from governments
around the world and its founder Li Hongzhi has been awarded numerous honors for this practice
Known as a qigong master his instructional
videos were produced and promoted by government
agencies and the book "Zhuan Falun" received official backing and was smoothly published
Even at the time of Jian Xin's passing Falun Gong was
rapidly spreading under the government's vigorous promotion
not only restoring health to many people but also
believed to have contributed to improving societal morality
By 1999 the number of Falun Gong practitioners
had reached an astonishing seventy million to one
hundred million perhaps precisely because of the rapid increase in the number of practitioners
Perhaps due to Falun Gong's spiritual beliefs clashing
with the Communist Party's atheism or perhaps because the
group operates independently of government control regardless
of the exact reason the CCP's stance gradually shifted
Persecution of Falun Gong began three
months before I returned to China—on
April 25 1999—when dozens of Falun Gong
practitioners in Tianjin were arrested
Finally on June 10 Jiang Zemin instructed
the establishment of a special 610 Office
dedicated to suppressing Falun Gong and declared Falun Gong an illegal organization
This triggered mass arrests
On July 20 the fifth day of my arrival in China
the crackdown reached its peak
thousands of Falun Gong practitioners across the country were detained
The situation has completely changed
I felt both frightened and helpless
Although the prospect of challenging the CCP's policies filled me with fear
I knew I couldn't stand by and do nothing
I believe those who have been wronged deserve
support and I made no hesitation in deciding to stand
up and help them the next morning I got up told my
parents I had to go out to take care of something
Afterward he hailed a taxi and rushed straight to the
State Council Petition Office located near Zhongnanhai
and dedicated to handling public visits and
complaints Upon arrival the street was already in chaos
The entire area was sealed off by the
military with soldiers and police everywhere
—nearly impossible to get close I told the driver to go around the building
From a distance I saw many Falun Gong practitioners
standing on the sidewalk peacefully protesting mostly
young college students who had come simply to speak
out against the arrest of their fellow practitioners
They looked helpless clinging tightly to one
another The armed police moved through the
crowd shouting harshly at people and even
kicking them Show me your
ID When it was my turn
A young soldier grabbed my arm and demanded to
see my ID I didn't have
a Chinese ID card I said
I was a Canadian citizen
What are you doing here
he shouted flipping through my Canadian passport
This is an illegal protest
I practice Falun Gong
I replied in Canada this is perfectly normal
It's a free country
You can't practice it here
He shouted why not
I asked him bac
He clearly wasn't ready to face the
issue glaring at me in anger before
ordering Stay here and don't wander
off then calling over a few soldiers
They discussed my passport
and documents for a
few minutes then a
police van arrived ordered me into
the vehicle and told me to get in My
heart raced but I had
no choice at that moment
I had no choice but to get into the car on the ground the
vehicle quickly started moving
separating me from my friends and
anyone who might have protected
me a few minutes later we arrived
at a police station where I was
roughly forced out of the car
Taken into a room I was
ordered to sit on a bench
Shortly afterward three police officers entered
and directly asked "Why did you attack the
government " I replied "I
didn't do anything wrong "
I protested
You went to protest at Zhongnanhai
Why do the police arrest
Falun Gong practitioners I ask
We are peaceful cultivators
simply practicing exercises
and meditating in parks In Canada no one arrests us
and the local government
accepts us Why not in China
Falun Gong's attempts to undermine communism
A senior officer said coldly We must punish
them to make them stop practicing The
interrogation that followed
lasted over two hours
They interrogated me about
whom I had contacted in China
who I was in touch with even
demanding to know who had
informed me about this petition campaign—asking one
question after another but I
held my ground and said nothing
After I refused to answer their questions the
police became extremely
frustrated ordered me back
into the patrol car and took me to an immigration
office where a few soldiers were waiting for me
You have three days to
leave China a military
officer said coldly No
exceptions You must go
I can't leave I tried
to explain my parents
are old and in poor
health I have to
stay to care for them
don't argue anymore
he cut me off taking
my passport and visa
A few slashes across the
visa announced
Your visa has been canceled
If you wish to apply for a new one
you must pay three hundred dollars
Shortly afterward
soldiers surrounded me and
demanded I sign a document
guaranteeing I would
leave China as instructed if I refused they threatened they would
seize my Canadian passport
You'll never make it back to Canada
I know that if I refuse
they'll lock me up maybe
even send me to a labor
reform camp and what terrifies
me most is that it would
drag my parents into it—if
I don't cooperate they'll
definitely interrogate them
Even though she had been punished for supporting
me I couldn't risk my
parents' safety so I signed
the documents and went home to tell them the
disappointing news My dad
was terrified when heard
Pacing nervously back
and forth in the room he
asked me "Why did you
have to stir up trouble
You know you can't go against the government
you can't question them let alone protest "
Mom was troubled yet
she stayed calm we
could only accept
reality he said but the
disappointment in his eyes
told it all—he understood
I had
to leave and likely would never return
Falun Dafa is truly
excellent the government will
come to understand this and
change their stance However
the news broadcast the
next morning offered no sign
of any shift—practicing
Falun Dafa remains illegal
A government official shouted angrily in front of
television cameras and warned that anyone attempting to
challenge the law would face severe punishment the
Ministry of Civil Affairs of
the People's Republic of China
The decision to ban the Falun Dafa Research Association
Look at what you've all done
Dad sat in front of the television
staring at the screen
his face filled with disbelief
he muttered quietly
He looked up at me again and said
Come see this
but I refused to watch the television
I didn’t want to hear any more news that would break my heart
I quietly left the house
and went to my sister brother and nephews’ places
Preparing for the final farewell
That evening my second sister
arrived with her husband and children
and the youngest brother came too
bringing his wife and their family
we all gathered around the dining
table the atmosphere heavy and
complicated and we had to face the reality—Mom broke the silence
and said
Although Tiejun is
leaving China he won't
abandon us and we won't
abandon him Hearing my
mother say these words
my heart sank instantly —I knew she was just trying to comfort me
But this did not lessen my deep sense of guilt From a young age
my mother taught me to be filial
Filial piety is one of the most
important virtues in Chinese culture Caring for my parents has
always been my responsibility Even after immigrating to Canada
I send money home every year
to support them now I thought I could take on even greater responsibility and visit
more often to care for them
but now that possibility
has been completely stripped
away and what pains me most is
My departure left the
entire burden of caring
for our parents squarely
on my younger sister 's
shoulders and the thought of her facing it
all alone fills me with an unbearable guilt
There are no words to
accurately describe how terrible
I feel I can't change what has already happened
the CCP has already struck
hard using their power
to persecute me That night
after everyone had left
I tried to comfort myself
by thinking perhaps the
government would change its
stance but in
truth I knew deep
down such a shift could not
happen in the short term The
next morning official news
again upheld the CCP's position
Coldly confirmed my thoughts
I am
afraid—for myself for
my family
for my friends—
afraid for all of us
Morning I went out for a walk alone
trying to find a glimmer of clarity
amidst shock and confusion
with mixed emotions
I wandered aimlessly
through the streets for hours
and finally
ended up back at
The alley where I grew up
my parents moved away from years ago
and settled into a new apartment
yet I still miss this old neighborhood
often wanting to come back and visit
now
The fate of being deported
made me fully realize that
this might be my final chance
to visit this familiar place
That morning the mist from last night'
s rain still hung in the air making the
place feel even colder as I slowly
walked toward the house
I once called home
Bone-chilling cold mingled with an unsettling
sense of unfamiliarity filling me with deep sorrow
Yet this is no longer the place from memory transformed
beyond recognition by the tide of modernization
where once a quiet alleyway sheltered families from
conflict and upheaval now
unrecognizable in every way
The once-solid and solemn courtyard walls
have long been torn down
and the front gate of my parents' home has also been removed
the familiar traces of life that once gave me a sense of security
have now vanished completely
I glanced around curiously trying to
find traces of the past but all I saw was
rubble and overgrown weeds I slowly made
my way toward the heart of the courtyard
Walking past a row of familiar pine trees—trees
that once stood inside the Great Joy Gate—
still present today but
unable to hide the scene
of decay I stepped onto the cracked stone path
Slowly stepping into the courtyard at last the worst
fear I had long dreaded became reality—my home was gone
replaced by a pile of rubble and dirt I couldn't help
but walk to the spot where
the grand entrance once stood
My foot rested on the threshold still
standing countless
memories flooding my heart
I remember in 1949
when my family returned
from Qingdao I was standing right here
It marked a new beginning
—full of hope The first
time I went to dance school I stood here saying
goodbye to Grandma Later
on many visits back home I stood here
again welcoming the warmth of family
When Jianxin first came to visit me he stood
right here and asked me
to be his girlfriend Later
when his parents demanded
I leave him I stood
here and firmly refused
to give up the one I loved
When we got married I
stepped over this threshold
to begin a new life
when I brought my son
Shou home after his birth I crossed the
threshold once more
entrusting him to his mother
Yet I had left home for re-education
through labor and many years later I
returned to life
back to my son still
stepping over this
familiar threshold
On the other side of this threshold
lies a sanctuary that once
belonged to me—no matter
how hard life became I could always return
here to find solace And
now I clearly understand
Everything has vanished beyond recall
I stepped through the threshold entered the
empty courtyard and tried
to envision those warm
scenes—this was once where we gathered for
meals with the table the sofa and the photo wall
The joyful cheers celebrating a special occasion
still seem to echo nearby as I walk to where my
grandmother's bedroom once stood recalling every
moment we shared—those
precious beautiful memories
I miss it so deeply
As I stepped from the spot where the old house
once stood into the
courtyard I couldn't help but wonder what my grandmother
would say to me if she
were still here Before me
lay a scene of utter ruin
Rubble piles hills overgrown with wild grass and the
places where I once played
as a child—gazing at the house
that once teemed with relatives now reduced to broken
walls and ruins its garden fence leaning precariously
I walked to the edge of the pond
and in my mind appeared my grandmother sitting by the
water's edge proudly recounting the tale of
Chang'e flying to the moon on a Mid-Autumn night
I
cleared away the jube and peach trees—those
trees my father once decorated with ornaments
during the New Year—still processing I picked
a few leaves and tucked them into my pocket
I kept telling myself over and over again
that this was the very last time as I glanced
back one final time at
the courtyard struggling
to hold back my tears before turning away
Returning to my parents' new home I couldn't help
but be overwhelmed by what I'd just endured—CCP has
forever stripped me of the right to return home
destroying the cherished traditional world I held dear
Shatter my past completely
This all felt like a microcosm of what the entire Chinese society has endured
And I became a witness
That night
Grief surged over me like a tidal wave
The thought keeps me awake—trying to prepare
myself for saying goodbye to my parents in
their final moments yet I can't help but keep
wondering what I should say to Dad and Mom
The next morning before
dawn I woke up quietly and
began packing my bags in
the darkness I sat on the sofa in my apartment waiting
for my parents to rise
and when they did I had
already arranged for a taxi
Then we walked out of the apartment together
I'm sorry
when I stood in front of their apartment building
I whispered softly
my quiet father lowered his head
staring blankly at the floor
He no longer preached at me as sternly as before
nor did he issue any
warnings his silence was heavy
with profound sorrow and when I reached out to take
his hand and say goodbye
that sorrow crushed my heart
Mom was unusually
quiet that morning
saying only a few words: don’t
speak to anyone don’t mention Falun
Gong and don’t talk
about your faith
Don't do anything to draw
attention from the authorities
—just go to the airport and leave China safely
I'll be careful I held
my mother's trembling hand
and whispered my promise
then turned and walked away
At that moment I wanted
to run back to my mother
and tell her I loved her
but I didn’t—those words
had never passed between
us I also wanted to run
back to my father and
give him a hug but I didn’t
There has never been any physical contact between us before
I can only accept all of this
because the CCP government has already sentenced me
I have been exiled
forever unable to return home
The tears held back for two days
finally spilled forth
in this moment and
I felt deep sorrow and helplessness—I
had no choice but to leave my parents
I silently walked toward the taxi got
in rolled down the
window took one last
look at the gate where
Mom and Dad stood
watching me leave as
the car pulled away
I told myself one day Falun Gong
would be proven
good and my master
would be proven
innocent when that
day comes I will definitely return
Yet unfortunately the CCP government has
never changed its stance
toward Falun Gong and
I am forced to confront this harsh reality—
I will never be able to see my parents again
Over the next few years
I made every effort
to stay in touch with them sending money
to support them writing letters frequently
and calling them on special occasions
My son Shuang visits them
every year but no matter what
those visits can never replace
the precious time we should
have had together nor the chance I had to care for them
What I miss most is my mother—she was always by my side
Supporting me through every challenge in life
It is heartbreaking
she passed away in 2014
at the age of 96
A year later
my father also passed away
at the age of 102
Now
my life has entered a relatively peaceful phase
I've built a deep friendship with my son
something I've long dreamed of for years
I work at Fei Tian Academy of Arts in New York
Still steadfast in practicing Falun
Gong looking back on these years
I've loved lost and once danced
gracefully under Mao Zedong's shadow
I endured the oppressive persecution of
communism yet ultimately
I found light and firmly
believe in the most important values in my life—those taught to me
by my master Li Hongzhi
Zhen-Shan-Ren These three characters
have guided my path
and ultimately brought me the peace
fulfillment and happiness I had long desired
