In this video I head out into nature for a wildlife photography walk and take you along with me for the first time. Even though the weather was rainy, it turned out to be a great experience. During my walk I was able to photograph several beautiful birds including herons, pheasants, ducks and geese.
Wildlife photography has been a passion of mine for a while, and I decided to start filming my adventures to share these experiences with you. I’m always learning and improving, and I’m excited to document my journey in nature.
I hope you enjoy coming along on this adventure!

Hey guys, welcome to my channel. This is actually my very first YouTube video so I thought I might
as well introduce myself. My name is Rabea, I am a hobby wildlife photographer from Germany
and I started my photography journey in 2024 and for the past one and a half years I've been
exclusively shooting wildlife and especially birds. I don't know how that happened when I
got my first camera. I actually thought that I would do nature photography, landscape photography
but all of a sudden birds just caught my attention and it's been a huge passion ever since.
And until now I've only shared my work on Instagram wildlife.rabea that's r-a-b-e-a
if you want to check it out. But I thought why not take you guys with me when I go on these
photography walks or maybe even trips. I really like to watch wildlife photography vlogs myself.
I think they're really relaxing and also inspiring and I think I want to share my experience
with you guys. So if you like wildlife, birds and photography or maybe all of the above then
come along with me. So the reason I wanted to come here today is actually
this is a location about 45 minutes from home and in this area there are usually lots of
migrating birds. It's a really cloudy and rainy day today so there isn't much going on but I'm
After a couple miles there is a lake where usually migrating geese and ducks rest.
So maybe we'll get lucky and find some cool birds. There's some crows over there. They're not that
interesting to be honest but I kind of like the way the photo looks. And sometimes
on that open field there are pheasants. So over there there's a lake where usually lots of water
birds hang around and I can see seagulls circling the sky. So fingers crossed that we get lucky.
That crow up there in the tree is having a little conversation. It's really loud.
Oh I don't think that's a crow to be honest.
I got it as it flew away but my shutter speed was way too low so at home I'll have to see
if at least the face is sharp. So there are lots of birds here but mostly seagulls and mallards.
I was hoping for something a little bit more exciting. So I guess we can still stick around
for some time. Maybe we get some cool landing shots. So let's try to get actually a little bit
closer to the action because over here there's not much going on. So I'll have to move very
carefully now because I'm close to the water. And there are some
I don't know what they're called in English and I don't want to disturb them.
The rain is picking up again.
Starting to rain now as we get to the good stuff. That one is bathing itself and sometimes
his flap on its wings. By the way I am German and please excuse me if my English is not perfect.
I don't talk much English. I live in Germany but you know when you don't talk English
on a regular basis you get rusty. Oh that's a lovely shot. So I think I will take a quick break
check the weather app to see if it will rain some more or if it's just you know a quick thing.
And then maybe we will move on. So unfortunately the weather app says that this will not be a
quick shower. It actually will rain for the next one or two hours. But I like this spot right here.
So I actually sat down and I will wait if some cool opportunities will come up. If the rain is
starting to pour though I will have to get back to my car. Also it's really foggy. I don't know
if the camera catches the atmosphere but there's a heavy fog above the water. So the quality of the
photos is not that you know crystal clear. It certainly adds to the mood but you know with
wildlife photography you have to you have to take what you get. It's unfortunate that it's starting
to rain because I don't know maybe a kilometer that way there's another lake where if you're
and that's where I actually wanted to go and sit down. But the rain is starting to pick up and
now don't laugh at me this is just plastic bag but I don't want the camera to get too wet.
So those geese over there are having some kind of arguments but I missed the action.
Okay so it's not raining oh my god what's going on that is too much for my for my lens.
Wow so as I was saying the rain is stopping a little bit so I'm trying my luck and I will
go down further in that direction to the lake where the kingfishers usually are.
What is oh I don't I've never seen that duck before. Beautiful. That's the only duck of that
kind around here though. Why is he alone? Oh lovely he's so pretty. Such a pretty boy.
I'm so glad I didn't turn around and go back to my car otherwise I would have missed this.
I think there's a great egret on the other side there but the yeah there's too many branches in
there. I found the great egret. Now I scare him. Damn it I was trying to get low to the ground
to get a get a better angle. Too bad. I did get a couple of shots though. Okay so there's some
other ducks. I think those might be tarpaulin. Yeah no idea what they're called in English.
Never seen them before though. That's nice. Yeah that was cool. Let's try to get some
photos of that one. He was splashing in the water flapping its wings. I got a video but
I wanted to get some photos as well. Oh I did get one photo. So in this location there are sometimes
kingfishers but the rain is really starting to pick up so I'm not I don't think we will get lucky.
There's a great egret though over there. This heron actually just landed right in front of me.
Man it's pouring rain. Okay well I think it's time to end our photography walk today. I am already
on my way to the car. Packed everything up and I don't even have the the mic on but over there
way in the distance there are actually some pheasants that showed up. So this video is
actually ending on a rainy and cold note but I actually really enjoyed walking around and
having my other camera with me so I can record my photography walk for you guys.
This is still very new to me so please be patient and bear with me if not everything is perfect and
I would like to continue this in the future though. I really enjoy sharing my photos
on Instagram and I think I would really like to. I'm getting so distracted by all the birds
but yeah I would like to do this more in the future so let me know if this was something you
enjoyed and hopefully we will see each other next time. Have a great day, bye!
