Hi I'm Jodie Hazelwood this is Roy Dandy and here's how we live with style
I'm sharing the Instagram account The House Upstairs which follows the afterma
a public meeting here in Nottingham which in truth is in a room
The room is moving forward Here's my hand Roy Dandy who is
The lockdown is on the left side It's three and a half
Felly first of all this would have been a real triumph for Wales
It was a real workhorse In the 60s it was produced for
ree staff members quite good indeed so they were
counting numerous original tombstones they remembered the blue stone
ey took all the available rooms so we've tried to offer the
Personal history and the past come rushing back into the room
We're now in a room which is one of the training rooms for me
we didn't want a room with original fireplaces so we didn't want them
we wanted them to feel the original difficult journey
original fittings in the room so we ended up using a lot of
original diverging rooms This diverging room was
Human builders connecting across Wales
I'm absolutely certain it's red it's incredible information and I like the fact tha
They're stubborn it's frustrating he's got plenty of pride and it includes
And yet the most improbable thing happened so here I am entering the room
I don't know when we'll launch the campaign but we will
The new arrivals are already flooding the Instagram feed
make a hole in this wall here I can see a gap from above the door
Maitland & Poates who are seeing increased demand across Wales and beyond
They're improving because I believe they'll be supported elsewhere
I'm going to slip this gift into it since they have plenty of them already
I like the different room furnishings
I just like having them around I love how they look
It means you can easily see what you've received and write it down
I enjoy the unique bathroom products from different countries
Water droplets which are fascinating We use the water droplets
We're using water wheels which is interesting
The only thing about these rooms is that they're very practical
How do we write water and glass
I had a noticeable amount of different water
We are using these standard water pumps
Everything I've ever pulled out and drawn out
I'm getting different rooms with water and the glasses
The reason I have different rooms for water and the glass is because
He’s in great shape really fit thanks to his active friends
e was working in different offices across Wales
They were heading out to the selected office bathrooms
The different rooms were beautifully revealed
I've already figured it out and I'm going to go ahead and sort it out
Selling it on eBay I really like it
But that's enough for the rooms
I'm going out to the service offices
When we go out I'll show you that blurry photo from the years ago
This came out in the 80s with my parents and my mother
I remember the photographer arriving back when photographic
studios in Wales were still common
for people and their children
There are so many fun things for me in
the watercress service which we always have as kids
My mum really loves this fruit
I like this photo
We're moving forward with our offices
We're very excited to be involved in a different campaign
I knew I needed to make a lasting impression on the world
I'm always dealing with the frost record
It's naturally inclined toward natural and ordinary things
I believe that when you're arranging the rooms
it's perfectly fine to create different spaces
I was interested to learn that we could create two bedroom areas within these rooms
These rooms are for talking making tea or playing the game
We can see just how much coverage there is around the TV area
It's perfectly fine to create the two spots in the rooms
I'm actually dealing with one of the new things
I've been developing my Ottoman friend's record over the past few years
We are very grateful to Nottingham for the dedication shown by these offices in Wales
The rooms are coffee rooms
You can access your belongings from your lockers
Since you need 2 meters of water you can get something different
I like having classrooms available so students can be helped in classrooms
It's a connection water and a request for another rope
They're suggesting asking for help or glasses
They can help themselves
I'm actually obsessed with every chair having a table and a lamp next to it I
think there's nothing worse than sitting down with a drink and nowhere to put it
and you're awkwardly stuck holding the drink in your hand
and you always want to be able to see what you'reading
So I insist that there is a lamp and a table next to every chair
A couple of years ago went on a very lively trip to LA
Myself and one of my best friends
It was a truly memorable five days
but we spent a Sunday brunch bar crawl visiting all the famous hangout spots
We went to the Châteaubriand the Beverly Hills Hotel the
Sunset Tower and I decided to pick up bar mats along the way
And I presented them as a fleeting random memory from an extraordinary unforgettable journey
One of my favorite things I actually own is this fossil I found when I
was eight We were walking through the Cotswolds and I tossed this stone
It shattered open revealing the most exquisite little fossil It 's
accompanied me to every home I've lived in since I was eight
It might even be why I ended up earning a full degree in geography
So this is our hall dining room lobby—where we store our vintage
pieces when we bring them into the
house—and we've been to flea markets
This was originally from different rooms we removed
to create a truly spacious area for entertaining We got
this table from friends of ours who used a reclaimed
factory top sourced from somewhere in Eastern Europe
and then put it on legs for us
When we cleared out the hall we first realized it was a vast open space
and we also removed all the 1960s suspended ceilings
and discovered some stunning stained glass making it a truly wonderful day during the renovation
But I knew that with this much space we’d need some really large light fixtures
I was browsing Pinterest when I came across these enormous rattan lamps
After extensive online sleuthing I found out they were made in Malawi To
Oli and my partner’s utter confusion we had them shipped here in a container
When they arrived the builders let us know because were off site that they couldn’t
get them through the front door so they had
to remove the front door to get them inside
Once again our electrician left the site and never returned on the day they were
supposed to be installed because he disliked hanging them so much and we ended up having to hire a new one
But I think it was worth it—they look really good and are incredibly dramatic
We have a huge print of a Slim Aarons photograph above the
dining table—beautiful girls on the beach in Saint-Tropez
In my late twenties when I worked as a yacht stewardess I spent a lot of time on this beach
Unfortunately it wasn't sunbathing but just dropping off guests in the scorching heat
Still that makes for a nice memory of a really fun time
If you've ever watched Below Deck you know exactly what it's like to be a
chief stewardess Sadly I can't share most of my stories because I signed an NDA
But whatever you can imagine multiply it by ten When we began
renovating the hall there were probably seven layers of wallpaper
And ten layers of paint so it took days and days to strip it
Eventually underneath all the layers we found the original Victorian frieze
They must have applied it when they built the house along with all the original plaster
It's such a beautiful color so we've actually kept it running along the back wall
Right here there's a little downstairs bathroom
where I went all out on Pierre Frey wallpaper
But luckily a downstairs bathroom—just needing one or two walls—was perfect
So we're now heading into absolutely my favourite
room — which is our bedroom and dressing room
Believe it or not we found these rooms while searching for a tiny hatch in the wall over there
These were just exposed rafters and no one had set foot in
here since Victorian times It was literally just the roof's edge
So I wanted this room to be really pretty really calming We're
up in the eaves of the house and it's actually quite quiet up here
It's a bit like an English country house hotel—something I actually really like a
little retreat up here We found these
fantastic sketches at the Bordeaux Flea Market
They were €2 each I think they
came from a house clearance and it
breaks my heart that someone’s family member just abandoned these
When the artist whoever their family member was was so talented
We opted for this very narrow 90s-style aluminum framing
to soften their dramatic impact a bit
I think it works really well I was aware that this room was just a bit
too pretty so to soften it a little I
deliberately toned down the elegance
We put up these brilliant posters of
someone's 1940s vans for their job—they were
obviously very proud of them We got these at the Belgium Flea Market
And I think it slightly diminishes the elegance
This way leads to our dressing room
You can't quite see it yet because it's still a work in progress and we haven't finished it
But in this little corner is my studio
where I create my designs for the Ottomans
and work with clients in the interior design industry
So this room should have technically been our bedroom
but were incredibly lucky to discover our actual bedroom
and dressing room through there in the Eves Thus this
space became our cozy multi-purpose bedroom sitting room
which is incredibly convenient and I feel truly lucky to have it
It's a highly versatile space
So beneath this palmet is a projector
so we can watch movies and TV in here We'
ve got a fireplace which is lovely A bath
which is very nice But the best secret in
here is that if you go through these doors
We have a little coffee station tucked away so we
don’t have to argue over who grabs the morning coffee
So we’ve got a small fridge a kettle and a coffee machine and we’ll just
enjoy coffee up here in bed before
finally heading downstairs in the morning
It feels absolutely indulgent We also have a
bit of wine in the fridge for the bath
We have two guest bedrooms in this house
The one downstairs on the first floor is the VIP room
where we host our grandparents or parents
which is truly thoughtful
And we have an entire wall filled with maps—
each one a memory of places that are meaningful
to both of us individually and together Then
on this wall we also have a second guest bedroom
which is a bit of a compromise we ended up turning the guest bedroom
into a laundry room so I’d say it’s
probably a decent room for sleeping
f you've had a few drinks and don't notice all the noise
I was really surprised by how much household
stuff we found on Instagram but then again it's not that surprising considering how
many talented creatives are on the platform
and the way they restore antiques and vintage
pieces means you get this perfect platform
of stunning items to
source like these exquisite
French sconces I found at Wallace Antiques
