Perched on the steep hills of Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, this tropical concrete house by Studio Saxe is designed to frame expansive ocean views while responding to extreme topography. Bedrooms are embedded into the الأرض for thermal mass and privacy, while open living spaces float above with terraces and a cantilevered pool. Combining durability, cross ventilation, long roof eaves, and bioclimatic strategies, the project demonstrates how concrete can achieve longevity, low maintenance, and a deep connection to nature in tropical architecture.
