Chinese Engagement / Wedding Photo Shoot in Suzhou | Hanfu, Qipao & Behind the Scenes

Good morning! We are in Suzhou and today is a very special day because we are taking engagement photos. We are doing a traditional Chinese dress or like headpieces and Jackie's gonna look like an emperor so it's gonna be I think really crazy and I think we have four or five different outfit changes so it's gonna be a lot. I think it's a whole day thing. It's gonna be so beautiful. The only thing I'm concerned about is that they're gonna make my face like really white and you know it doesn't look that dark here but compared to Chinese complexion I am a little bit darker than most. It is 6 a.m almost 7 a.m and we have to be there before eight o'clock. I think we're gonna do an outdoor photo shoot and it's so cold. It is 40 degrees right now. 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It's gonna be so cold. It's okay because the photos are gonna look beautiful. This is so fancy. One is the garden view that we're picking. Very elegant Chinese traditional classical garden and then the second one is the more ancient ones. Oh yeah. Which one do you like? I think the green ones are kind of cool. Okay the green one. The green one's cool. Which one's the more popular one? It's a lot. It's like whatever you like. This one? Yeah. But it shows my stomach. Okay. Can I try this one too? I'm gonna get changed now. Okay you want to try the other one? No. The back looks good. The neckline is not good. Three, two, one. Wow. Very cool. Okay we'll try the other one. Oh that one's cool too. Which one do you like better? This one's heavier but it's cooler. I think this one's cooler. It's more elegant. Very heavy. Yes. It's fine. I think this is the content that's gonna blow you up. Almost a completed look. I look so crazy. I don't look crazy. I just look different. We're doing three traditionals. One qipao and two hanfu. Oh I like that. Yeah I like it. Oh I like this one too. Okay this one. We are on the way to the first site. It's 40 minutes away. Yes. And Jackie has eyebrows. I have eyebrows now. And I have big ears. They had to tape back so my face looks slimmer and I was like it hurts so bad. Why didn't they tape up my ears? It took three hours to get ready and it took a while for me to pick my dress because I was so indecisive. But all the options they had were not that great. They didn't give me the best shape but whatever. Now we're going to a temple right? I think it's a temple. Yeah so one's a temple and one's a garden. And we have three outfit changes. One in the hanfu, one in the qipao or chengsam, and one in the western style dress. And then we shoot one inside. Yeah so this thing costs about a thousand USD and currently there are four helpers coming with us. One person is sleeping up here. The three other ones are going in another car and they're just meeting us at the site. So there's a photographer, makeup person, and I don't know what he is. Looks like he just carries bags. I don't know. He's my mom. Yeah and then she also carries bags. We're here. This is the first spot. Wow so beautiful. Don't step on the thing okay. There's a dog. Yeah don't forget our photo too. Cute. Okay to the second location which is the tongli garden. And this is where I'm going to have two outfit changes. The more western one and the qipao or chengsam. Jackie's wearing a suit. Hopefully it's fast because I am cold. It was so cold earlier. I changed in this room with basically a blanket. It's cold. Yidi driver decided to go pick up some fruit on the way back. We have like one more hour of indoor shoot and we're done for the night. Oh my gosh I look so pale. Is this even me? No it's consulting. Oh I have moles? Yeah. I have beauty marks. That's funny. He gave us some fruit. He used to work here. It's nicer from when he gave it to us. Sweet. Like a normal orange though. I have a slight cold from yesterday. It was so cold. But right now we are going to go look at the photos because they edited it 24 hours later. So we get 70 edited photos and we get all of the raw photos. We can pay for additional edited photos but since we're getting the raw photos I don't think that's that bad. Oh she's like they they looked at it and it looks really good before we came. It doesn't look like me. Oh it is you. Oh that's cool. Yeah the pagoda is cool. My armpit. Now we are picking out the frames. Wow it comes with eight. Wait eight of this size? No all all combining. All of this? Eight different sizes. Oh wow okay. I thought they gave us one photo. So it comes with two of these. And then it comes with an album? Yeah two albums. Oh wow okay. Oh wow we get so much. So the first one we get is this size. Oh it's so big. Above the bed. The second one. That's the third and fourth one. And then these four. We're getting so much. That's so crazy. They make money. Yeah so crazy. Four people working for us. Photographers, makeup artists, I guess an assistant. This woman that walks us through the edits. Eight frames on the wall and two frames you put on your desk and it comes with a big poster to welcome you to the wedding. This is insane. Wow it's real. So cool. Right now we're filling out a form that tells them what to edit. Like make my arms skinnier, make my legs skinnier, make my stomach smaller, make me taller. Thanks for joining me on this journey.
