#golfsportofperfection#golf#golfswing Power doesn’t come from swinging harder. It comes from one move most golfers completely miss. In this video, Coach James breaks down the exact motion that instantly transforms Aylex’s swing from forced to fluid, unlocking serious distance without extra strain. This is the kind of shift that makes the swing feel lighter, faster, and more natural all at once. If you’ve been chasing power the hard way, this lesson might genuinely change how you think about your golf swing forever.

I've never hit it that far.
And that is a seven iron.
You've tried everything now
and you still can't consistently generate power
and distance in your golf swing.
Well, we've transformed hundreds of subscribers
on this channel to do just that.
And today we're going to do the same for you.
If you guys just follow all the videos on this channel,
you guys are going to achieve this magic too.
Are you ready to change their lives?
Change some lives, yeah, of course.
All right, where do we start?
Most people, they rush their downswing.
Show us what a rush downswing looks like.
Rush downswing.
Do you see what just happened?
I think as you're bringing the momentum backwards,
before it's ready to come down,
you start accelerating it with force.
Tempo is off.
And then also before I finish my full shoulder turn,
I start coming back down.
My left shoulder was just somewhere up here.
While I'm at the top of the backswing,
I started coming back down.
Right.
So this is a very common issue for a lot of golfers,
especially at the golf course.
Why is it at the golf course, they rush more?
They're trying to hit the ball far by rushing their swing.
See how hard I'm swinging right now?
In their mind, like swinging hard,
they can hit the ball far.
So what do we want them to do instead?
Oh, do a full shoulder turn.
Okay.
Full row, full backswing.
So, and also have a little bit of pause at the top.
Not a full pause,
but more like complete your backswing and come back.
Okay.
So more like this.
Yeah.
Did you notice I had a little bit of pause at the top?
I wasn't rushing my swing.
And I did my full shoulder turn before I started doing my downswing.
So I have some questions for this,
but before I ask it, I want to try it myself.
Yes.
Okay.
You do have a very rushed downswing.
Okay.
So I'll be a good example of what people might be doing at home.
Yes.
So I'll just do my normal swing as an example first.
It's actually, I mean, you used to have a rush swing.
Well, it's still not perfectly not rushed.
I can feel that compared to yours,
you have this transition at the top.
What I feel in my swing is that
when you have momentum still coming back,
and then you're using force to bring the momentum forward
instead of letting the backwards momentum go to zero first
before coming forward.
So the pause that you're talking about.
A little bit of relaxed arm at the top.
It's actually easier for me because I'm more flexible than you.
When you're somewhere up here,
because you're not too flexible,
when you're coming all the way back here,
you have to start coming back down.
I see.
But for me, I'm more flexible than you.
So I can actually stop here for like 10 seconds if I want to.
But for you, it's going to be a little tough.
Well, this is a really good point
because a lot of our viewers at home are a little bit older,
have less flexibility.
So what can me and them do in this scenario
to have a not rushed swing?
Don't over backswing.
That's one thing.
I can do a backswing all the way up here.
That doesn't mean that you have to do your backswing here.
If you're limited somewhere here, then stop here.
That's one thing.
And then how to not rush their downswing is just work on the tempo.
It's not one, two.
It's one, two, three.
You see there's a little bit of pause before the impact.
So it's one, two, three.
Right.
It's not one, two.
So let me give this a try.
A little bit of pause at the top.
So we go one, two, three.
Okay, good.
So that's another part to create effortless power.
Yes.
You have to feel a little stretch at the top of the backswing.
So if you don't have a full shoulder turn,
then it's really hard to pull with the left side of the body.
Pull means pulling with your left arm and your back.
So what happens if you don't have a shoulder turn?
What muscle do you end up using?
Your arm?
Yeah, I see.
I mean, if you rush your downswing, it's also hard to do a weight transfer.
So if you don't do enough weight transfer to your lee side,
it's really hard to pull with left side of the body.
Right.
It's always going to be right side.
So that's the second part of creating an effortless power.
You gotta pull with your left side.
That makes a lot of sense, actually.
I was just imagining it as you were saying it.
If you are stretching, it's supposed to be your lats, right?
Yes.
If you're stretching your lats here, it's almost impossible to use your arm first
because your stretch has to reverse before you can even come down.
Yeah, it's like elasticity.
You have to use that elasticity to start the downswing.
That's a really good thought.
Can I give this a try?
So I'm going to imagine at the top, my lats are stretched,
and then just use that elasticity to lead my swing coming down.
And add a little bit of more weight transfer to the lee side.
And do you still want me to count one, two, three as I do that?
Just think of it like this.
Two is pulling, and then weight transfer.
Pulling and the weight transfer, that's the second part.
One, two, three.
Oh yeah, perfect.
It feels so much easier.
So much delay between impact and the downswing.
Right.
And I feel like I'm using a lot of my bigger muscles now.
And everything is more connected than before.
We'll try to give it a shot.
Okay.
One, two.
Yeah, that went.
I thought I rushed a little bit.
Popped it a little bit.
There was a lot of delay between the downswing and impact.
Yeah.
You just topped that one, right?
So it's very common once you start doing that drill.
Right.
For a lot of golfers, when they start pulling with their left hand,
they start lifting their body.
So what kind of attack angle do you have to be with iron?
Downwards attack angle.
So more of a descending angle, right?
So your club has to be falling down while you're at the maximum compression.
The feeling of your butt end of the grip dropping down onto the ball.
Not just pulling like this.
While you're pulling, you gotta pull your handle down to the target.
Right.
It's a combination of pull, weight transfer, and pull with your back and rotate.
While you're doing that, you gotta push the handle down towards the target.
Pull and then throw.

Now we know how to pull with the left side of the body.
In order to practice the pulling of the handle,
all you have to do is just grab with two hands right here.
Just one, two, and three.
That's it.
And then do it with a normal grip.
Same thing.
One, two, and...
I have a question here, James.
So if I just imagine myself coming up like this,
if I just imagine this pulling downwards to the ball,
will this not naturally do its thing?
No, it's different.
Even though you're pulling this way,
your hand doesn't mean it's gonna go this way.
Okay, what could happen?
It might go sideways.
Oh, you still can do this.
You can still overextend if you pull.
Yeah.
Because if you have a habit of casting a lot,
using like a lot of wrist,
if you're a person who's using a lot of wrist,
you can still pull this way and cast at the same time.
Can you show me an example of that?
But just slowly.
Here.
See, I early cast it there.
Okay.
So I just hit the ground right here.
In order to prevent early casting,
you gotta pull the handle towards the ground.
Or towards the target is good too.
Right.
So pull, pull, and release.
Let me give this a try.
So one thing first is,
I get into my pull position, right?
And then once I'm pulling down here,
my handle here has to be facing the ball.
Facing the ball, facing the target.
And then what do I do from here?
Oh, and release.
And then just release.
Yes.
So release is the hard part.
Because if you start pulling the handle towards the ground,
your club face is gonna be wide open if you don't release.
So what I'm gonna think about is,
now it's my pull is connecting from my back
into my hand towards the ball.
Yes.
And I'll just think about that for now.
Yeah.
Yeah, a bit open club face.
That's exactly what I thought was gonna happen.
Wait, that was good or not good?
Oh, it was perfect.
I just couldn't release it.
That's the part.
So release will fix this directional path.
Yeah, because it only went to the right side
because your club face is wide open.
That felt so easy.
I almost hit 190 and I felt like I was using 70%.
It was a wide open club face too.
So you could have hit like 200 yards with that shot.
If you just worked on the three things that we just worked on,
your ball is gonna go right side.
You haven't learned how to release the club.
So a lot of people think release is like different term.
Some people think wrist rotation is the release.
Some people think bowing of the wrist is release.
What do you mean by that one?
Because bowing of the wrist can close the face.
Yes, and if you just hold that, that can count as a release.
Yes.
Okay.
But release is actually, this is the release.
This.
Oh, I've never knew it was this motion.
So what makes it this motion?
So when you go into your backswing,
we turn while we're turning our body.
We do a wrist.
Yes.
So all you have to do is unhinge on the downswing.
Unhinge.
We're not trying to rotate the hands.
Because remember on the backswing,
we try our best to not roll the wrist.
Yes.
A lot of people think that this is the release.
That's what I thought too.
It's actually here.
You see my wrist is hinging.
Unhinging.
It's called release.
But I thought on the hinge,
you were supposed to have flexion on the hinge.
That's called bowing.
Bowing of the left wrist.
Yes.
Then go up.
Then while you're coming down,
doing this.
But earlier when you were showing us,
weren't you showing us that your hands were going forward and back?
Not left and right?
A little bit of combination of bowing of the wrist.
So it starts with the flexion and then you come up.
And then I do a little bit of wrist hinge.
But you don't even have to do a flexion.
So if you look here,
if I just lift through a wrist hinge like this,
I didn't do anything with my wrist.
And I just turn my body.
Right.
That's my backswing.
Yes.
How we release it is this.
Here.
That's the release.
This chop into the ground.
Yes.
But how we hit the ball,
while we're releasing,
we're just turning our body.
Okay.
So while you're doing this,
we're just turning our body like this.
That's release.
So it needs to happen the same time as the lateral pull and the down?
No, no.
You hold, hold, hold.
You pull the handle this way.
Right.
And then you release the hands like this.
So it's broken down into three steps, right?
From what we talked about.
First is the lateral coming down.
And then our handle coming down.
And then in this handle position,
we release it.
Yes.
And then release the hands like this.
So one way to just practice this is just this.
Put your hands here on your right side.
And just lift the arm and do a wrist hinge.
And then try this.
One, two, and then rotate and do the same move.
Can I give this a try?
Because I cannot comprehend how this will let me hit a good shot.
Yes.
I've always imagined that I'm turning this to control my club face.
But let's give it a try.
So this is my left club.
And then you say it like this, right?
Yes.
And then do it like that.
Yeah.
Pull, release.
Okay.
Should I give that a try?
Yeah.
We'll see if we can put this together.
And should it feel very smooth?
Or should I feel that all my power should be on the release?
Your clubs should be the fastest from the impact to the follow-through.
Right.
Not here.
I don't want you to create...
Trying to create speed on the downswing.
Trying to leg here.
Leg, pull, release.
I think I understand.
Well, let's see if I can do it.
And if I can't, we'll see why.
Oh, that had more release.
Yeah, that was a good shot.
It's a little open face.
But it looks very effortless.
I am not using any power.
I mean, I'm 70% all the way through here.
And you're hitting it farther than me right now.
Yeah.
And usually when I use power, I hit slightly less than this.
Yeah, you're like 175.
Yeah.
Let's try one more.
Let's see if I can...
Okay, let's see what a good one is.
And you want me to close the face a little bit more?
Yeah, if you can.
And release a little bit earlier.
Release a little bit earlier, meaning?
Don't hold it for too long.
Because you're holding and pulling.
I see.
So you have to...
It's a combination of pull, throw.
Okay.
This is so...
Wow.
I don't know why...
I've never felt this before, actually.
My god, what's going on?
That's 70%.
And that is a 7 iron.
Yeah.
Can I...
Wait, can I try one shot?
You just hit that 190, what?
196.
We're telling you, we do magic on this channel.
If you guys just follow all the videos on this channel,
you guys are going to achieve this magic too.
Unfortunately, James doesn't watch our own videos.
That's why he's hitting shorter than us.
Okay, let me try.
That doesn't look effortless, James.
It looks like you're using some effort here.
Yeah, that's why I'm hitting it shorter than you.
Yeah.
You hit this two yards farther than me.
And I think I use less effort than you still.
But I hit...
I flushed that one.
Let me try one more.
That was not effortless, but...
Maybe it'll go further?
Oh, yes.
You got it.
Oh, 199.
Anyways, James.
I think we've proven, and not on purpose, by accident.
We didn't know I was going to increase my distance by that much
just from these few tips, right?
Because I've never seen you hitting it.
I've never hit it that far.
Yeah.
And the fact that I hit it that far using only 70% power,
that's crazy.
Oh, you don't really need to create 100% power.
Yeah.
Power actually reduces your distance.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's why we're talking about effortless swing.
Yes.
So if anything, the most distance is actually created around 70 to 80%.
Unless you're like a pro and you've mastered using more power.
Then you can maximize the 100%.
For most of the golfer, they don't have a good down swing sequence.
So once they swing harder and harder, their sequence goes off
and their club speed starts to decrease.
Right.
James, today was an unexpected masterclass.
This just completely unlocked my mind.
And I think anytime I'm struggling to have more distance,
if I just watch this video on repeat,
it will help me unlock all of it.
For sure.
And this is such a great example for our viewers at home
because most of them probably lack flexibility like myself.
James, that was an amazing lesson.
I think we should just end it here.
