All right.
Well, happy 2022.
Getting our season started here at Lost Creek.
Place we've been to a couple times before in the winter.
Probably gonna end up camping in the same area.
We'll see how far back we make it,
but weather's pretty good.
It feels great to be out here.
Got a fair amount of snow.
Should be pretty good.
It's been a few months since we last been out,
and it felt great to shoulder our packs once again
and hit the trail.
We're in an area that's fairly close to home
and one of my go-to spots.
Our goal was to push in a little further
than we had on our previous trips.
We dropped off the trail and down towards the creek.
Once we found a place to camp, the real work began.
Val wasted no time getting her hammock set up.
All right.
Well, I'm trying this again.
Dug a hole where my hammock's gonna go.
We are getting close to set up here.
Timber's gonna have such a good bed.
Oh, he does.
He's got an old night fire, right?
Want me to get him hot?
Yeah, I think we can just cut that in half.
What do you think?
Good.
There were a few good trees around camp
that set us up pretty well for the trip.
Wasn't too hard to get the fire going,
and since it was a winter trip,
steaks are on the menu,
along with a couple other luxuries we haven't tried before.
Well, good morning.
Morning, day two.
First day two of the year.
It is pretty warm last night.
We were getting bombarded with snow
dropping off the trees onto our tarps all night,
and it's kind of raining off the trees right now.
It's not raining from the sky,
but it's pretty warm out here.
Not exactly what we were hoping for,
but we'll take it.
Great to be out.
We weren't pushing on to a new spot today,
so we explored around camp,
and for the most part, took it easy.
Oh, see, it's sticking up there.
Oh, oh, do it, oh.
Well, good morning.
Morning, day three here on Lost Creek.
It's going home day.
We've had a couple excellent nights.
Kind of sitting by the fire.
We'll start packing up here a little bit.
Yeah, stop in Pritchard, get some burgers.
It was a beautiful day,
and perfect conditions for hiking out.
Okay, come on, Tims.
There's something about being in the mountains
in the snow when the sun is out that is just magical.
If you haven't experienced it for yourself,
I strongly suggest you do.
Hi, coming to get me?
