Today, I'll be showing you around an area that deserves to be at the very top of your Busan
bucket list. Not only is this place home to Korea's single most popular beach, but it's also
loaded with scenic places to relax and unwind, as well as a vibrant nightlife where you can party
until the early morning hours. By the end of the video, you'll have the inside scoop on all the
best places to chill at, both during the day and at night. So grab your shades and slip into your
swimsuits, because we're here today at Haeundae Beach. Before we begin, let me give you a really
quick breakdown of this area first. That way, you'll have a much easier time navigating your
way around Haeundae. First is Gunam-ro, which is the main street that's just in front of the beach.
Second is Haeundae Beach. Third is Dongbaek Island. Fourth is the Bay 101. And fifth is Marine City.
And all of the places that I listed are all walking distance from each other. All right,
now that you're already familiar with most of the areas over here, we're going to start off with the
main street that's located right in front of the beach called Gunam-ro. If you're planning your
trip to Busan, then this is the area where you should be booking your hotels or Airbnbs, because
this is the nicest area in all of Busan. And it's also located pretty close to many of the tourist
attractions that you're going to want to see. There's also a subway station right here, so that
makes it really easy to get around the city. On this street, you'll find tons of restaurants, cafes,
bars, and even a few nightclubs. The only thing missing here is shopping. But don't worry, the
world's single largest department store, Shinsegae, is only 10 minutes away from here. Now, there's
still plenty of things to check out here during the day, but it's really at night when this street
comes to life. So stick around until the end of the video, because you won't want to miss the
nightlife here. This small alleyway leads you into a traditional market where you'll find tons of
mouth-watering Korean street food. Now, in an upcoming video, I'll be showing you exactly which
restaurants and what snacks you've got to try here in Haeundae. So stay tuned for that one. Today,
let's just get familiar with each of the areas. Now, I usually get pretty hungry whenever I go
swimming. So what we'll end up doing is we'll normally just grab a bunch of snacks, rinse,
an umbrella, and some of the chairs, and then we'll just hang out at the beach.
Before we get to the beach, let me quickly show you around Palisades first, because this building
has a bunch of restaurants, bars, and convenience stores, and it's directly on the beach. So if
you're looking to grab a quick snack or some drinks, then this is a great place to hit up.
So Haeundae Beach is Korea's single most famous beach. It's about 1.5 kilometers long of soft
white sand. During beach season, this place gets absolutely packed. Now, summer just started,
so it's not that busy yet, but once it does start to get busy, you'll see people here from
all over the world. It's pretty cloudy today, right?
And living right below the beach is all the sea creatures at Busan's aquarium.
So over here, they have things like sharks, penguins, and a whole bunch of other types of fish.
So if you're here with your family, then this is a great place to check out. But if you're not into
aquariums and beaches, then don't worry, because Haeundae still has so much more to offer. And
right now, we're going to be heading down to the very far end of the beach, because we're going to
show you around the rocky cliffs facing all the coastal route down there. So right at the very
far end of the beach, you're going to see the Westin Joseon Hotel. So what you're going to want
to do is you're going to want to walk around the back of the hotel, and then you're going to start
to see these walking paths. And that's going to lead you to Dongbaek Island. Let's take a look.
Doesn't this place look like Tony Stark's house from Iron Man?
If you're in the mood to get a little cardio in, then this is a great place to do it,
because there are beautiful walking trails here with incredible views of the ocean.
And right here, you're going to get to see most of Haeundae. Down there on the very far end,
you're going to see Haeundae Blue Line. And that's the train tracks and those little sky
capsules that take you over to Songjeong Beach. Right on top of there is Damaji Hill.
Now, the reason why I told you to start walking from the back of the hotel,
instead of from the entrance that's just off of the beach, is because the views that you'll see
walking from this direction look much nicer than going the opposite way around. And then we're back
at the beach. And then once you've made it out of Dongbaek Island, you're going to see this
building over here called the Bay 101. And they have a bunch of restaurants and bars over there,
along with an amazing patio. So we're going to come back here later on tonight.
And then right at the very far end of the beach, right beside the Bay 101,
you can see this area over here that kind of resembles Gotham City. But this one is called
Marine City. And that's where we're headed to next. And over here, you're going to find a bunch
of bars, restaurants with amazing patios. And a majority of them are going to have pretty nice
views of Busan's coastline. In fact, from over here, you're going to get an amazing view of
both Gwangan Bridge, as well as Gwangalli Beach, which just so happens to be Korea's second most
famous beach. So if you're a beach bum like myself, then you are going to love Busan.
And this is another one of those areas that gets even better at night.
So as you can see, this area, as well as most of the other ones that we went to earlier,
really start to come to life at nighttime. When you chill over here in Marine City,
you're here for basically the patios, the restaurants, and the amazing views that
come over here. So wait until you check this out. So right here is Gwangan Bridge,
and just past there is Gwangalli Beach.
So I usually like to start my evenings in a more chill environment like this
before heading off to all the noisy bars and clubs.
But now let's head back to the Bay 101 because they have one of the most amazing
Instagram-worthy shots over there. And this right here is that Instagram-worthy shot.
So as you can see right here, it's a little bit more laid back. It's a little bit more
relaxed over here. So if you're looking for a more kind of like quiet night,
then Marine City and the Bay 101 are like pretty ideal for you.
Over here, you can buy your tickets and cruise around Busan in a yacht. And inside,
you'll find restaurants serving things from Korean barbecue all the way over to fish and chips.
But their main highlight here is definitely their patio with fantastic city and ocean views.
All right, so we just finished up at the Bay 101. And after this, we're going to go back to
the main street where we first started off today. But on the way there, we're going to go and check
out the beach. Right beside the beach, they also have this area where they have all of these tents.
And you can also eat and drink outside over here too. It's actually pretty fun drinking on the
beach. You gotta try it. All right, so we just finished up at the beach. And now let's go back
to the main street where we first started. So we just got back to Gunam Road Street. This is
where we began the day. And I'm getting pretty hungry right now. So let's go find something to
eat. All right, so if you're coming over here and you're having a difficult time finding out which
bar you want to go to, then let me break it down for you. Fuzzy Naval and Thursday Party have menus
that cater to Western tastebuds. So if you come to these bars, there's a good chance that you'll
bump into other foreigners here. Otherwise, you'll find tons of other amazing Korean bars that serve
all sorts of delicious Korean snacks that go perfectly with beer, soju, and makgeolli. There's
even a few nightclubs in this area. And the parties go on until pretty late because over here in Korea,
there's no such thing as last call. So if you'd like me to show you all the best restaurants,
bars, and clubs to hit up here in Haeundae, then let me know in the comments below.
So I hope that you enjoyed spending time with us here in Haeundae. And if you did,
remember to like and subscribe, and I'll see you next time somewhere in Korea.
