Pickoff play at second and Fitzgerald is saying he got his hand back in and he did somehow some way.
How did he avoid that tag? He was out by plenty the ball beat him but then Fitzgerald
was able to avoid the tag and Bocci's saying the challenge why not.
Ninth inning all that yep. He won right here strike three for the second.
He came up short of the bag and I don't think he held it either.
You know that's just sad. Waited, waited, waited. Mickey thinks he's safe. Yeah and you know.
Field in and Vinny grounds it through the right side. India scores. Here's Junior. Here's the
throw and Raleigh's got it and Junior got around the tag. That's one of the best slides I've ever
seen. Beat him by a mile. Look at that. He's like whoa hey now came over and slapped the plate like
he's slapping a high five. Now first ball swinging Tyler Stevenson hits a little humpback liner over
the left side of the infield. That's a hit. He's going to try for two. Here comes the throw and
somehow he slides around the tag. An unbelievably agile slide by Tyler Stevenson. Oh look at the cat.
He reaches down hits this one toward left. That's a base hit.
Kwon goes to Kruger trying for second. Kwon's throw a good one.
Off again Tatis Hosmer strikes out throw down there and it's still a base.
Steal second and go into a split. This is unbelievable. Flash look there he goes to strike out now.
Right back to Knapp. Throw to third. No not in time as Roman gets in.
A fortunate carry him right back to Knapp. He made the throw to third but Roman got there.
High drop throw and throw down and a sidearm throw behind the plate by Bailey gets him.
Well Chase wants him to take a look at it. He thinks he's able to make it
and if he did it would be his tenth stolen base.
To left field. A sinking and that will drop in front of Duran. Verland getting greedy. He wants
to. Goes around the tag and he's in there. He can hit and he can swim on dirt I guess a little bit.
Yeah that was an excellent athletic move. Liner out to center. Akiyama slides he can't get it.
He knocked it down. Torres is going for third. The throw he is safe. They're looking at something.
Yeah they're looking at that. The ball squirts out there after he already finished the play.
Akiyama does make a good throw. There he goes. Pitch up and in and a quick throw down to second
and they are going to get him. That was a quick release by Heineman on the exchange.
So that's a caught stealing with Castillo the shortstop putting the tag on him.
And the Rays want to take a look at that play at second base. The 1-1. High fly ball.
Center field tagging Bowlby. The catch is made. Here comes safe Yankees. A set fly ball.
Judge Yankees win 6-5. A little bit more off the line. Runners go. Swing in and miss. Out.
Not in there. He got in. He got in ahead. Bad slide. He took it away and he put it back.
A little hokey pokey with him. Wow is this clever. Watch this. The ball's there plenty of time.
That's an opposite field base hit for Will Smith. Turner's headed home. Here's the
throw from Harper. Not in time. How many guys in this world score on that hit? Trey Turner is one
of them. The runner goes. The pickoff throw and now the throw to second and Baez is tagged out.
Baez thought he got in there safely and he's motioning to the Cubs third base dugout and
we're all going to wait for the video people to take a look and I think he might have been in
there safely. The right center field. Freeman to the gaps. Freeman for second. Lee's throw. Tag
wasn't there. It's a double. Slides to the inner half of the bag. You see him avoiding the tag,
bending his back out of the way, knowing he can catch the bag with his foot.
Marlins have done a great job filling that hole in center. Myers waits to stay out of the double
play at least for now. That's a tag play and he's safe. To draw the throw. Right at the short stop.
Russell. High throw. Oh my gosh he's done it again. It's unbelievable. This guy as we said the other
day should go to the all-star game just for this. He reached the count of second. Trout takes off
the pitch of the strike. The throw down is in time. Trout wants Sosa to look at it. Did a little
swim move. He's going to check it. Now they are going to check it. Wow what a slide. We'll see
what they call him. And he is safe. Well he is superhuman. Lee got a great jump and it didn't
matter. They got him. That's checking it out and they're going to look at it. John Hulley was not
leaving the base. You know what Mike I don't think he tagged him. I didn't see a tag. Then he brought
the glove up when he came off the base. Gouldy. Hits sharply. Backhanded by Arenado. Off balance
throw and what a slide by Goldschmidt. He's safe at first base. Wow. That's what I'm talking about.
Those are the things the attributes you cannot teach. On both sides of this ball.
Swing and a miss. Polecki's throw to second base is not in time. Nick Williams got a little
swirly and was able to get to the second base bag. That is an excellent excellent slide and
then to grab the bag with his left hand. Lopez. Very gutsy with two outs. Can't make the third
on a third base. He needed to know he was going to be there 100%. Whoops. Who's going swimming?
How he was with that swing.
