If you are working to build delicious,
sustainable, healthy eating habits,
then it is essential that you have some simple,
no-brainer recipes that you can lean on,
and I promise you, it does not get any simpler
than these easy-peasy peanut butter overnight oats.
Made with rolled oats, chia seeds,
peanut butter, and Greek yogurt,
this is a delicious, no-fuss, make-ahead breakfast option
that comes together in literally minutes.
They're nutritious, affordable,
it's a well-balanced meal,
and with a little bit of intention,
this can also easily be made
into a high-protein meal as well,
which I will show you how to do, should you be interested.
Now, in the past, whenever I make overnight oats,
I always love to use a 16-ounce jar,
either the tall, regular one, or the fat, short ones.
But I recently ordered these cute little 10-ounce jars
from Amazon, they have these pretty little lids on them,
and they are my new favorite jar to make overnight oats in.
They all work, and I will link them all for you
down in the description box below,
should you be looking for the perfect jar.
Now, the base recipe makes one serving,
but this is such an easy recipe to scale up.
So you can make two, three, four servings,
as many as you want.
Personally, today, I'm gonna be making two servings.
So the first ingredient that goes into the jar
is the oatmeal.
You want to use a half a cup, or 40 grams,
of rolled oats or quick oats.
If you use the rolled oats,
your overnight oats are gonna be a little bit heartier,
a little bit chewier.
If you use quick oats, which is what I'm using,
you tend to have a softer, more pudding-like texture.
I've made them both ways, and both are absolutely delicious,
so it just depends what your preference is.
Then we're gonna add some milk.
I have a half a cup of unsweetened almond milk
going into the jar.
Again, this could be any milk you have on hand,
or that you love.
And then I have Greek yogurt.
So one quarter cup Greek yogurt.
I'm using a plain, unsweetened, low-fat Greek yogurt.
This could be no-fat, this could be full-fat.
Again, I've tried them all.
They're all creamy and delicious.
And then I have a teaspoon of chia seeds.
Now, not only is this gonna add
a little boost of fiber and protein,
but the chia seeds is what helps
to thicken the overnight oats as well.
And then we have our flavor boosters.
So I'm gonna do a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon,
a nice, warm, cozy flavor.
A little pinch of sea salt.
That's just gonna boost all of the flavors.
And then some type of sweetener.
Now, I'm doing one teaspoon of maple syrup.
This also could be honey.
If you wanted to do a no-sugar option,
you could do some stevia or even some monk fruit here.
All of these options get the job done.
You're just looking for something to sweeten the flavor
and round it out a bit.
And then, of course,
since we are making peanut butter overnight oats,
I'm gonna add a tablespoon of all-natural peanut butter
into the jar as well.
And remember, whenever you're buying your peanut butter
at the grocery store,
the only ingredients that you should see listed is peanuts
or perhaps peanuts and salt
if you like yourself some salted peanut butter.
Now, you could stop right here.
This is the base recipe,
and you would have a beautiful, delicious breakfast
that delivers 15 grams of protein.
But since I am on a 50-year-old fitness journey of my own,
I try to get a baseline of 30 grams of protein
at breakfast time.
And I find the easiest way to do that
is just to add a half a scoop of protein powder
into the mix.
This could be vanilla or it could be peanut butter,
which I have here today.
Delicious, okay?
Then you're just gonna stir this
to get everything really well incorporated.
Now, again, the protein powder is 100% optional,
but I do know that a lot of you
are in the same shoes that I am in,
and you're trying to prioritize protein in your diet.
And I have found that using protein powder as a supplement
can be very helpful.
It's not something you wanna use all of the time,
but it can, again, it can be a very helpful supplement.
So if you're trying to find some good quality options,
I'm gonna share some of my favorites with you
down in the description box below,
because I know it can feel like tricky,
like there's so many out there,
and I've tried so many of them.
And these are a couple of my favorites
and the ones that I come back to again and again.
Okay, so once you've got all those ingredients
stirred really well and combined,
I'm just gonna pop the lid onto these jars
and then into the fridge they go.
Now, you need them to sit in there
for a minimum of, I would say, three hours or overnight.
And then you are going to see
when you're ready to enjoy your oats,
you just open them up,
and the texture, it gets really thick and really creamy.
It's almost like a pudding.
Now, if you use the protein powder,
it might get super, super thick.
You could always add an extra splash of milk
if you wanted to thin it out.
Now, I usually just grab it out of the fridge
and enjoy it straight from the jar,
but since we're here on YouTube,
I'm going to put this in a cup
so we can add some delicious toppings.
This flavor is especially delightful
with an extra dollop of Greek yogurt over the top,
a little drizzle of peanut butter,
and if you've got some chopped peanuts,
I would go ahead and add those as well.
If you prefer your overnight oats warm,
you could pop them into the microwave
or into the pot for a few minutes
just to heat them through and enjoy them that way.
So they really are super versatile.
I love them because if you're like,
it's one of those mornings
where you really have to run out the door,
you can just grab them and take them with you
and you have a beautiful, delicious,
well-balanced breakfast.
Delightful.
So as always, I'm excited for you to give these a try.
Keep in mind, this recipe is a blueprint.
There are so many different flavor options you can make,
and I'm going to link some others
that I've shared in the past
if you want to play around with different flavor varieties,
and I personally would love to hear what you like.
So if you've got a specific flavor combo you like,
share it down in the description box below,
and if you want more easy, healthy,
delightfully delicious breakfast ideas,

Cheers.
