Synopsis
At the christening of Princess Aurora, six fairies bestow their gifts upon the newborn child. The celebration is interrupted by the evil fairy Carabosse, who curses Aurora to prick her finger on a spindle and die on her sixteenth birthday. The Lilac Fairy softens the curse, declaring that Aurora will not die, but fall into a deep sleep to be awakened by true love.

Years later, Aurora pricks her finger and the curse is fulfilled. The entire kingdom falls into enchanted sleep. After one hundred years, Prince Désiré, guided by the Lilac Fairy, discovers Aurora and awakens her with a kiss. The spell is broken, and the ballet concludes with a magnificent wedding celebration, uniting love, light, and harmony.
